"More ridiculous than I thought": Studio Spent $130 Million For Jason Statham to Fight Dinosaurs in 'Meg 2: The Trench' And Fans Love It

Jason Statham’s giant shark movie Meg 2: The Trench is finally here. Out of all the movies this summer, this is the one that fans have been waiting for.

The Ben Wheatley-directed adventure saga is set around the amazing Mariana Trench underwater landscape, where ancient creatures rule. The plot isn’t particularly deep, but fans of Jason Statham will enjoy the chance to witness him defy logic and battle dinosaurs on screen.

What is Meg 2: The Trench about

In this Ben Wheatley-directed film, Jason Statham plays the character of a deep-sea rescue expert. It is a heart-pounding underwater adventure where Jonas Taylor, played by Jason Statham, goes on a dangerous expedition into the ocean’s unexplored depths.

However, their mission becomes dangerous when they confront heavily armed mercenaries. So, they are left with the dual challenge of facing these enemies as well as enormous marine creatures like megalodons.

Before seeing Meg 2, you might have imagined Basilosaurus from Jurassic Park as the most terrifying predator, but you will definitely change your views after seeing the latest Megalodon in this American-Chinese co-production.

Fans love Meg 2: The Trench

The Meg, which was released in 2018, was successful enough to evoke the sheer horror of underwater adventure. The fans eagerly anticipated the sequel so they could enjoy Jason Statham’s action and the same surge of adrenaline.

Reacting to Jason Statham’s mind-blowing action scenes and the movie’s wild plot, one user wrote,
“More ridiculous than I thought. The plot is wild. First half of the movie was fun. The last half while still fun, got so insane that I laughed with how dumb it was. Jason Statham was great as always”.
Another user said, “Absolute perfection, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that must be seen in theaters”.

One user appreciated the brilliant casting of the movie with breathtaking visuals and said,
