Inside the Chiefs’ $183m Super Bowl practice facility – owned by AFC West rival the Las Vegas Raiders – with Travis Kelce and Co set to enjoy state-of-the-art weights room, indoor field, swimming pool and more

Las Vegas is not short on glitz and glamour. That includes the practice ground for the city’s NFL franchise, the Raiders, who have a $183 million, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to all things football in nearby Henderson.

The Chiefs will be inhabiting the Raiders’ training facility this week to prepare for Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Raiders home away from Allegiant Stadium, where the Super Bowl will be played, contains three full-size outdoor fields, one full indoor field, and a world-class weight room.

If that was not enough, the Intermountain Health Performance Center has a sand pit for resistance work, a grassy hill for agility work, a full-service cafeteria, and several pools for training and relaxation.

Kansas City arrived in Las Vegas for the big game on Sunday night. The Chiefs have the luxury of playing in their fourth Super Bowl in five seasons, but this is the first time the game will be held in Las Vegas.

Now, the permanent home of the Raiders will turn into the temporary home of Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and co. ahead of Super Bowl LVIII.

The Chiefs are 4-0 against the Raiders in Las Vegas, meaning the team has never lost in Sin City. The 49ers won their only previous game in Las Vegas against the Raiders last year.

The Raiders facility was opened in 2021 after one season for the franchise in Sin City.

After moving from Oakland in February 2020, the Raiders had the facility open without restrictions for the beginning of the 2021 season following the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

During the team’s first season with the facility open, the Raiders made the playoffs, losing in the Wild Card Round to the eventual-Super Bowl runners-up, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Las Vegas struggled in 2022, but looked to turn a corner at the end of the 2023 season after firing head coach Josh McDaniels and handing the team over to then-interim coach Antonio Pierce.

Pierce was given the full-time job after going 5-4 in the Raiders last nine games.

The Intermountain Health Performance Center is located 10 miles south of Allegiant Stadium.

When entering the facility, players and other team personnel will see a quote from former team owner Al Davis as part of a sculpture in his honor.

‘The fire that burns the brightest in the Raiders organization is the will to win,’ the inscription reads.

The standard massive team meeting room is part of Intermountain Health Performance Center as well, alongside up-to-date locker rooms.

The 49ers will practice at UNLV’s facilities, which could be seen as a massive downgrade from a world-class NFL training ground.
