Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and his wife, Princess Rajwa have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Iman.

The Prince and Princess of Wales – who are known to be close friends of the couple – are likely to be delighted by their baby news.

New father Hussein took to the couple’s shared Instagram account to publish a sweet video in which he could be seen cradling his newborn daughter, as reported by the Mirror.

The little girl, who was born over the weekend, is the first grandchild of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan.

Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Princess Rajwa tied the knot a little over a year ago, with the Prince and Princess attending as guests for their special day.

The spectacular wedding was also attended by Princess Beatrice – as well as Kate’s mum and sister, Carole and Pippa Middleton.

A statement following Iman’s birth read: “The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein were blessed, on 3 August 2024, with a baby girl they named Iman.

“The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to Their Royal Highnesses and to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this happy occasion.

“Their Royal Highnesses are immensely overjoyed and thankful on welcoming their firstborn, and call on well-wishers to consider donating to Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans in lieu of sending gifts or flowers.”

At their wedding in June 2023, Kate wowed royal fans in a flowing dusky pink Elie Saab dress. For the glamorous evening celebrations, the 42-year-old changed into a glittering Jenny Packham gown and the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara.
