A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has revealed that the Channel 4 show faced a huge blunder while filming when the keys to a property were locked inside the house.

Laura, 42, who has been on the show since 2012, and her TV crew had to stop filming and return to the property the following day with the potential buyers, while in Florida, America. In a recent interview, she said: “There was once an episode that I did where, unfortunately, the keys for the property got locked inside the property, and we couldn’t film it. That was a bit of a disaster. It was in Florida, but that was so many years ago. So we had to call a wrap on that and then show them the property the next day, which wasn’t obviously ideal. But it was just one of those things.”

She continued during her interview with The Sun: “It was kind of like, who’s got the keys? Oh, God, you know, imagine that thing that kind of happens at home. Who’s got the keys? Who’s got the keys? And it was like, oh my God, the keys are inside.” Away from the cameras, it seems Laura’s life off-screen is equally as dramatic after reports emerged of her dating a married man.

In 2022, Laura announced she had split with her husband Alex Goward after nine years of marriage. The couple share two children together, Rocco, 10, and Tahlia, eight. But earlier this month, it was claimed that she had found love again – but her new beau’s estranged wife was left upset at the news. It’s believed that Laura is in a relationship with James Pettigrew and the pair made their romance official in January this year.

But his estranged wife, Jackie, is said to have been unaware of their budding romance. A source told the MailOnline: “Laura has been dating James since January and they spend all their time together. While Laura has been single since splitting from her ex-husband, James is still married, and their relationship has caused his estranged wife Jackie a lot of hurt and upset.”

They added: “She was unaware of their romance in the early days and is now going through a painful divorce, with her priority being to protect her two daughters. Laura and James have made every attempt to keep their relationship private but it’s been months and they’re so close now, they are fully committed to each other and making this work long-term.”

Two months ago, it was reported that Laura and James enjoyed a day out together at the Scottish FA Cup Final in May this year. They were spotted sat in the hospitality suite watching the game unfold between Celtic and Rangers. Speaking about her split with her husband Alex, Laura previously said: “We are co-parenting, and it works. But even that, you know, I kind of felt like I had failed.”

She explained that a contributing factor was the fact their lives were heading in different directions. She added: “It was a decision we both came to. We have an enormous amount of respect for each other, but we are now on different paths. At the point, it was announced, we’d already overcome a lot of difficult times. But I am lucky that we have the relationship and respect for each other that we have, and our children’s happiness will always be our priority.
