  • Henry Cavill was “intimidated” by Ben Affleck for this massive reason

Henry Cavill was “intimidated” by Ben Affleck for this massive reason

Henry Cavill, star of Netflix’s The Witcher and the DCU’s Superman, found Ben Affleck to be intimidating while they made their superhero movies together.

Given that he’s starred as both Superman and Geralt of Rivia, you’d imagine that Henry Cavill is a pretty tough guy to intimidate. But, one man who succeeded in making Henry Cavill doubt himself was his DCU co-star, Ben Affleck.

Cavill and Affleck worked as colleagues and co-stars on Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman in 2016, and its 2017 sequel Justice League. The two films might not be the best movies that either Cavill or Affleck have starred in, but one thing is undeniable: the two actors were both pretty great in their roles.

Cavill was a Superman ripped straight from the pages of a comic book, and Affleck is genuinely underrated as Batman. In fact, we even think he might be the best Bruce Wayne. Part of what made the pair so suited to the best DC characters is their physicality: they look like superheroes, and both worked out a lot to get into the biggest possible shape for the role. The only problem for Cavill was that Batffleck was bigger.

“Like most things in life, you put yourself at a certain level, and I thought I was in good shape going into that film. Then I met Ben Affleck. What struck me first was how funny he was, but man was he ripped as well. I’ve never been the type of guy to get involved in any sort of macho one-upmanship, but I admit I was more than a bit intimidated,” explained Cavill, speaking to Healthy For Men magazine in 2020 (via ComicBookMovie).

He said, “The guy is huge. I’m puny by comparison. He is much bigger than I expected, this huge presence and vast physicality. I had to step it up. When you see this mountain of a man walking around set, you think, ‘I’ve got to get to the gym… yesterday’.”

It seems almost impossible to believe that Henry Cavill, a man known for his giant-like size, found Affleck’s presence confronting. Cavill’s description of the size disparity between him and Affleck doesn’t necessarily translate to the screen, though that could partly be down to Affleck’s physique mostly being hidden under his hulking Batman suit.

Either way, next time you see a picture of Cavill and are stunned by his size, know that it’s Ben Affleck who pushed him to get there.

Fans choose POC James Bond over Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy in a surprising outcome.

Daniel Craig Has Finished His Time With James Bond

So, everyone knows that Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond is up. We’ve all enjoyed his stint as 007, but now it’s time to bid him farewell. Now there’s a big question lingering around: Who’s next in line to fill those iconic shoes?

The 56-year-old once said he’d rather do anything than play Bond again, but hey, never say never, right? But as things look now, No Time To Die really was his swan song.

Daniel Craig in No Time to Die

In an interview back in April 2020, Craig made it crystal clear that he was done with Bond for good. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he explained why he wanted to kill his character, He said,

“Two things, one for myself and one for the franchise. I was like, Well, you need to reset again. So let’s kill my character off and go find another Bond and go find another story. Start at [age] 23, start at 25, start at 30. The other was so that I could move on. I don’t want to go back.”

Looks like he’s ready to move on to new adventures. Throughout his Bond tenure, Craig brought a gritty edge to the character, giving him a modern twist. But now, he’s ready to pass the torch, suggesting it’s time for a fresh face to take on the role.

But who will it be? Fans are buzzing with speculation, even running their own polls to pick the next 007. And with A-list actors in the mix, it’s anyone’s guess who will nab the coveted role.

Who Will Be The Next James Bond?

Fans are excited as they speculate about who will be the next James Bond. In an interesting twist, a quiz has popped up, helping fans discover which famous 007 they align with.

Idris Elba as Moreau in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

The latest poll reveals that Idris Elba, known for his role in Luther, snagged one in five votes, beating out contenders like Tom Hardy and Henry Cavill.

The panel game matches fans with their closest Bond counterpart, considering factors like weapon preference and dream car. James Norton, Cillian Murphy, and even Aaron Taylor-Johnson emerged as popular choices among respondents.

However, nearly half of fans admitted they might skip future Bond films if they’re not keen on the next actor. An agent for Lottoland.co.uk, which conducted the survey, noted the nation’s avid interest in the topic. As per The Sun, it was revealed,

“James Bond is a topic that certainly gets the nation talking. There are some really interesting names to make it into the top 20 list, but it’s not a shock to see Idris Elba taking the top spot with his sleek and cool demeanor. Let’s hope the casting agents see this.”

However, with many A-list actors in contention, only time will tell who will fill Bond’s shoes next, but Elba’s action-packed resume certainly makes him a compelling candidate.

  • Henry Cavill talks about sacrificing sleep as he celebrates his special day with Natalie Viscuso

Henry Cavill talks about sacrificing sleep as he celebrates his special day with Natalie Viscuso

Henry Cavill is one seasoned charmer in the world of stars, but when it comes to his conduct, he is a layered individual.

For fans, he might be the former Superman or the retired Geralt. Yet, away from the screens, he embodies the role of a caring father to his beloved furry companions.

Together with his partner Natalie Viscuso, they make the most adorable family of four. While tales of his wonderful canine companions find their way onto his social media platforms, the most recent one talks about sacrificing naps, but probably not his.

The post in concern, featuring a heartwarming collection of snapshots with his beloved dogs, however, was shared for a particular reason—to celebrate a special occasion.

Henry Cavill posts a photo dump with his dogs and Natalie Viscuso for this reason

Henry Cavill is a dog person and his love for his homebound canines may be beyond measure. At times, this involves earning their approval to collaborate with other animals, while at other times, it involves them becoming his perfect travel partner.

His very latest Instagram dump with Baggins, Kal, and Natalie Viscuso on the occasion of Baggins’ birthday was actually a tease for his Akita, whose “uninterrupted naps” took a sail with his companion’s incoming.

As Cavill says, although Kal is now “one friend richer”, seamless snoozes for him are now things of the past. He began the post with a crisp birthday wish while his next lines were a frolicsome banter for Kal, whose golden days of being the only child became a similar sight to his undisturbed rest.

With the first slide beginning with an endearing selfie with his Akita and French Bulldog, the rest continued with throwbacks of baby photos following recent pictures of Baggins. One of them even had a snap of Baggins lounging on Viscuso’s lap.

Even though Kal’s sleepless nights could be courtesy of Baggins, for the trio, this addition means more than the world. Especially since his arrival came after one of the hardest phases of Cavill’s life.

Baggins: A blessing for the Cavill family

Last year, in April, Henry Cavill bid his farewell to his friend of more than 14 years, Meat, a French Bulldog. Cavill shared in a post to welcome Baggins how Meat’s life had a big impact on him and the “hurt” left “a hole” in his heart. However, in June, the actor and his girlfriend decided to revisit his old friend in Baggins and welcomed him to the family with an official letter on Instagram.

Cavill acknowledged that “there is no replacing Meatboi”. But as “life must go on”, both Natalie Viscuso and Cavill took their decision to open a “new chapter” of their lives where Baggins is now a big part.

He shared how poles apart both Kal and Baggins are since the former is a “tropey grumpy old man” while Baggins is a combination of “a little wonder” and “a little terror”. Hence, hoping that this special day every year brings health and fun for Baggins while his efforts to bring fewer sleepless nights to his dear old friend could be a good birthday resolution.

What do you think of Henry Cavill’s post with his dogs and Natalie Viscuso for Baggins’ birthday? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Fans are excited that a rematch between Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill could happen but in the MCU

Fans are excited that a rematch between Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill could happen but in the MCU

Henry Cavill’s rumored debut in the MCU might spell possibility for another much-awaited duel.

The duel between Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman seems like already ages ago, and with the latter’s exit from the franchise and the rise of the newly revamped DC Universe, the duo’s on-screen rivalry may have ended for good.

Henry Cavill in Man of Steel

But, there is always hope and the possibility of achieving the said rematch in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following Cavill’s rumored debut in Deadpool and Wolverine, and Affleck’s history as Daredevil, something can be done here.

Rumors About Henry Cavill Playing Wolverine Variant Get More Exciting

    Deadpool and Wolverine

A scooper previously shared critical information that Henry Cavill might be debuting in Deadpool and Wolverine as a variant of the clawed mutant. As per Giant Freakin Robot:

“I’ve been able to confirm that Henry Cavill will indeed appear in Deadpool 3. Henry Cavill will appear in Deadpool & Wolverine as a multiverse variant of Wolverine. His version will be wearing a long brown coat when he shows up, and this will be Cavill’s first appearance in the Marvel universe.”

Now that’s definitely exciting news, but since there is no official announcement yet from Marvel Studios, this report should be taken with a grain of salt. However, another well-known industry insider revealed that the Man of Steel actor is indeed in Deadpool 3. CanWeGetSomeToast posted on their platform:

“I can confirm that Henry Cavill will in fact play a Wolverine variant in ‘DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE’. Fans will be very pleased with his appearance.”

If Cavill really does end up landing a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are many other characters he can also explore. The actor has previously been supported by fans to play Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four as he has also expressed interest in portraying Captain Britain.

    Daredevil (2003)

The possibilities are endless, but since fans want a rematch between Superman and Batman, all Marvel needs to do is to bring back Ben Affleck’s Daredevil into the fold. Fans know what happened to the ill-fated franchise, and although the Gone Girl star admitted hating his own movie,

there’s always a way to redeem oneself.

The idea might seem impossible, but in the comics, Wolverine and Daredevil really had a fierce clash that fans might want to see happen on the screen.

  • Asking for $3 million for Henry Cavill’s mustache in Justice League is an impossible task

Asking for $3 million for Henry Cavill’s mustache in Justice League is an impossible task

While DC needed clean-shaven Henry Cavill, ‘Mission: Impossible’ demanded $3M in reparation.

With or without a mustache, it’s for certain that no one can beat Henry Cavill’s good looks. But while fans drooled over the actor with his whiskers on, in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Cavill surprisingly faced some issues because of it. Nobody could have predicted that the actor’s mustache would cause so much drama.

Henry Cavill as August Walker in Mission: Impossible – Fallout

According to Mission: Impossible – Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie, while shooting Tom Cruise’s movie, Henry Cavill was simultaneously going through Justice League reshoots.

This apparently caused some issues surrounding Cavill’s whiskers since the actor was supposed to be clean-shaven for his role as Superman. Hang on to learn about the drama that caused McQuarrie to ask $3M from the DC film’s producer.

The Drama Surrounding Henry Cavill’s Mustache

Only in Hollywood can a mustache cause so much controversy. Recapping the bizarre story surrounding Henry Cavill’s facial hair in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, director Christopher McQuarrie revealed how the actor’s follicular decision impacted two major blockbusters. According to an interview on Empire Podcast, McQuarrie opened up about Cavill’s “mustache-gate”.

According to the filmmaker, when Henry Cavill grew out his mustache for Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise, Warner Bros. unfortunately needed Cavill to squeeze in for summer reshoots for Justice League. Since Superman has always featured as a clean-shaven superhero, DC needed Cavill to get rid of his facial hair. But while Paramount allowed the actor to hop between productions, they strictly forbade him to shave.

Henry Cavill as Superman in a still from Justice League

Since Justice League needed a clean-shaven Henry Cavill and Mission: Impossible asked for a mustache, the actor, unfortunately, got tangled in the drama because of his follicular decision.

Watching the actor getting squashed between two blockbusters for his mustache, Christopher McQuarrie admitted initially permitting Cavill to shave, even though it would have held up Mission: Impossible – Fallout’s production for weeks.

Christopher McQuarrie Asked $3M From Chuck Roven

Speaking with Empire Podcast, Christopher McQuarrie narrated the whole situation that messed things up and caused drama for Justice League, Mission: Impossible, as well as Henry Cavill.

Addressing the fact that he was called out on X for majorly causing the drama as he decided not to use a stick-on ‘tache, McQuarrie explained his reasons.

“Everybody out there who’s been taking shots at me on Twitter for however long you have, a fake mustache in close-up on a 75mm lens is never going to look like anything but a fake mustache in close-up with a 75mm lens.

And if you have any doubts about that, just go back and watch Tom Cruise in Rogue Nation with his beard and mustache. It’s passable for a scene, not for a film.”

Cavill in 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Admitting how he originally granted permission to Henry Cavill to shave for Justice League, the director recalled getting calls from the DC film’s producer Chuck Roven.

“When the reshoots for Justice League came up [Justice League producer] Chuck Roven called me,” McQuarrie stated. Discussing how Roven begged for help, the Fallout director stated that he began talking to everyone on set to manage the issue.

“So, we offered the following compromise – Jake Myers calculated the amount of money that it would take to replace the number of shots. And essentially what Jake was able to project is about a $3 million visual effects budget.

So, I don’t know how much Henry was in Justice League… but I can tell you how much it would have cost for Mission: Impossible to digitally add Henry Cavill’s mustache – and we said yes.”

Henry Cavill and Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible- Fallout

“We said, here’s what we’ll do – give us the $3 million and we’ll shut down, and that’ll give Henry Cavill the time to grow his mustache back. And we’ll just shut our movie down.”

Unfortunately, although this compromise might have worked for both blockbusters, Paramount Pictures intervened and refused to shut down, even for $3M. As a result, Warner Bros. was left with no other choice but to remove Henry Cavill’s mustache digitally – a decision that partially derailed the film.

Rumors suggest that Henry Cavill’s dream MCU role is now out of the actor’s reach.

The One Marvel Character Henry Cavill Would Love to Play

    Captain Britain

From Doctor Doom to Cyclops, there are quite a few Marvel characters that fans would love to see Henry Cavill play. But the question is, whose identity does Cavill want to take upon himself? Well, he himself has the answer for that.

Back in 2021, the Enola Holmes actor appeared for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where he was asked which Marvel character would he, “hypothetically” want to play. Cavill replied,

“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else because everyone’s doing such an amazing job. However, I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”

However, there are some rumors about Cavill’s entry into the MCU and they just might prove to be a hiccup in the actor’s way to Captain Britain.

Henry Cavill Might Not Get to Play Captain Britain After All

A still from Deadpool & Wolverine‘s teaser trailer

After Cavill’s exclusion from the DCU, there was a good chance that he’d finally step into the MCU and be one step closer to playing the Marvel superhero of his dreams. Unfortunately, this is where Wolverine comes in. According to a trusted industry scooper on X, CanWeGetSomeToast, Cavill will be playing the role of Wolverine in the upcoming film, Deadpool & Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman sent his fans into a frenzy when he revealed that he would be returning as Wolverine and becoming an official part of the MCU, after the events of Logan (2017). And now, rumors suggest that there will be not one, but multiple variants of the claw-bearing mutant.

Now, according to the scoop, Cavill will be playing one of those supposed variants.

We don’t know if Cavill playing Wolverine will sit right with the audience but we do know that it will block any and all roads that lead to Captain Britain for him. Just like John Krasinski couldn’t return to the superhero universe after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Cavill’s MCU journey would end up being limited to Deadpool & Wolverine. Do we want that?

Deadpool & Wolverine will release in theaters on July 26, 2024.
