  • Henry Cavill grills Alan Ritchson in BTS’s video for their new Guy Ritchie movie

Henry Cavill grills Alan Ritchson in BTS’s video for their new Guy Ritchie movie

Henry Cavill roasts Reacher star Alan Ritchson in a behind-the-scenes video for their new Guy Ritchie movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Henry Cavill roasts Reacher’s Alan Ritchson in a behind-the-scenes video for their upcoming Guy Ritchie movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The film premieres on April 19 and tracks a classified group of soldiers organized by Winston Churchill to combat enemy forces during World War II.

Along with Cavill and Ritchson, who portray real-life figures Gus March-Phillipps and Anders Lassen respectively, the cast of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare includes Alex Pettyfer, Eiza González, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding, and Cary Elwes.

In a recent Instagram reel, Cavill jokingly taunted his co-star while discussing the filming process for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Check out the video below:

Demonstrating their off-screen relationship, Cavill playfully roasted the Reacher actor and what he was like on-set, while Ritchson seemed to coincidentally praise their time together.

What Cavill & Ritchson’s Dynamic Could Mean For The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

Based on their teasing in the behind-the-scenes video, it will be interesting to see how this dynamic translates in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Both actors are known for their action roles, and the comment about Ritchson’s conditioning is even more humorous considering the physical preparation and various stunt work involved in Reacher. Cavill, who famously starred as Superman and Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, was also the lead in Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare marks Ritchson’s first collaboration with Ritchie.

Ritchie’s comedies, including Snatch and The Gentlemen, have featured entertaining interactions among their large casts, and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare looks to be similar. What audiences get to see from Cavill and Ritchson, as promotion begins to increase, suggests that they had a fun time filming. The trailer highlights the relationship between characters and sets up many hilarious moments, with Cavill’s March-Phillipps referring to them all as “mad.”

Between his unique brand of gangster movies like Snatch and Hollywood reboots like Aladdin, director Guy Ritchie has a constant high-quality output.

Those who enjoy Cavill and Ritchson’s work are likely eager to see more of them together, both during the movie and ahead of its release, and to learn what kind of situations their characters will find themselves in.

If their dynamic in the behind-the-scenes video serves as any indication, they could be a good pairing in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Additionally, since Ritchie tends to work with the same actors over again, this could be just the beginning of a new, prolonged collaboration.

Alan Ritchson is Cavill’s co-star in the upcoming film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The Superman actor recently shared a clip of a short interview on his Instagram account.

Ritchson only had the most complimentary things to say about Cavill and his work ethic. “Henry is a perfect number one. He is the first one there, last to leave, always knows his stuff, he’s always positive. He leads by example, I’m so impressed,” said the Reach actor.

Cavill, on the other hand, joked about how Ritchson was a nightmare to work with. He immediately clarified that he said it in jest and that it was wonderful to work with Ritchson.

The two actors have become good friends if their interactions are anything to go by. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will also star Eiza González, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, and Cary Elwes.

What is Henry Cavill’s new film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, about?

The film, helmed by Guy Ritchie, is adapted from Damien Lewis’ 2015 book of the same name. The events are based on a true story, and the group managed to change the course of the Second World War.

At the height of the Second World War, the UK Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, founded a special force. Ian Fleming, best known as the author of James Bond, was an officer in the Royal Navy’s Naval Intelligence Department and part of this covert group founded by Churchill.

The Prime Minister had a reputation for coming up with wild scenarios and their possible solutions. He recognized the threat that Adolf Hitler posed and founded the Special Operations Executive, or SOE, a predecessor of the Black Ops.

This group believed in fighting unconventionally and pulled off stunning victories against the Germans. With Henry Cavill starring in a lead role, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will hit screens on April 19th.

  • 80 percent of The Witcher fans agree they won’t watch Netflix show without Henry Cavill

80 percent of The Witcher fans agree they won’t watch Netflix show without Henry Cavill

The Witcher fandom is a complicated one. Although many sing the praises of the video game adaptations, those same fans aren’t convinced about The Witcher show. Now that Henry Cavill has left, they’re even less sure.

    Featured Image Credit: Netflix

Ever since Cavill announced he was leaving Netflix’s The Witcher, the show just hasn’t felt the same – and we’ve not even seen his replacement in action yet. That discomfort has grown since the awkward footage explaining Cavill’s departure appeared online.

Then, as if that wasn’t painful enough, the producers behind the show have told everyone they had to dumb down the plot for Americans; I’m not an American, but I’m insulted on their behalf. We’re not saying such criticism of the fandom has contributed to how fans feel right now, but it’s surely played a part in roughly 80 percent of them declaring they won’t watch the show.

Mainly, the refusal to engage is due to Cavill’s departure, but still, that must come as gutting news for Netflix. Yet, we suspect people will tune in, at least initially, to see how Liam Hemsworth plays the part. Curiosity killed the cat, and all that.

Maybe The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will redeem Netflix?

Some claim that you can’t be a “real fan” if you’re not going to watch just because the cast has changed, however, that argument isn’t holding up against the sea of anger aimed at Netflix’s depiction of the show.

“Literally the reason he’s leaving is that they’re going off script from the Witcher lore,” explained one fan. Another then claimed that anyone supporting Netflix is a “Netflix fan” rather than a The Witcher one.

We’re interested to see how the fandom fares once the next season of The Witcher begins, though we expect the discourse to pick up to ridiculous levels as fans argue over the missing lore, how bad Helmsworth is for the role, and why the video games are superior.

Henry Cavill says new Warhammer 40K series is ‘greatest privilege’ of his career

The loss of Henry Cavill from Netflix’s The Witcher is still being felt, and likely will be long after the next season has aired. However, that loss is another fandom’s gain, and seemingly a huge gain for Henry Cavill himself as he focuses on the Warhammer 40K series adaptation.

Cavill has left behind the dumbing down of The Witcher for what he believes is the “greatest privilege” of his career thus far. We knew back in December 2023 that Cavill and the team he’s amassed are already well underway in shaping the cinematic universe of Warhammer 40K for the eagerly waiting fandom.

Now Cavill has started to publicly speak about the project and what its future holds, his excitement palpable – we love how much of a nerd he is. In truth, we’ve known it since he declared Yennefer his number one lady for Geralt, but it’s always satisfying to have his nerd status confirmed once more.

During the Argylle press event, Cavill was asked about Amazon Studios’ work on the adaptation, with Cavill saying, “I can’t say too much, again, it’s early days still. But to have this opportunity to bring it to screen, and be at the tiller so it can be faithful, is key to me.”

He continued, “This is the stuff I’ve been dealing with since I was a kid. This is the stuff I spend my free time daydreaming about, as an adult as well, and I get to bring it into life. There is no greater reason that I joined the industry than doing something like this.”

We truly cannot think of anyone better at the helm of this project than Caville, a man who travelled all the way to Nottingham to take a tour of Warhammer World. Now that’s dedication, passion, and enthusiasm all rolled into one super fan.

It’s still early days for the Warhammer 40K series, though, so make sure to watch this space to avoid missing out on any updates. We anticipate there’ll be a lot more rumours, insider leaks, and interviews to come before we see an official teaser for the project.

  • Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s James Bond rumors debunked as fans criticize media outlets for spreading lies

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s James Bond rumors debunked as fans criticize media outlets for spreading lies

Was Aaron Taylor-Johnson Offered The Role Of James Bond?

    Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Bullet Train

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been in the running for James Bond for a long time. The British actor was among the alleged top contenders for the role after the exit of Daniel Craig, who played the role for fifteen years, starting with Casino Royale. Apart from Taylor-Johnson, other contenders for the role included Henry Cavill and Idris Elba.

Earlier this week, the British news outlet The Sun reported that the Bullet Train star was offered the role of James Bond and that it was up to the star to take up the offer. The report included a statement by the unnamed source who mentioned that a formal offer was on the table and that Eon Productions was convinced that the actor would take it up.

    A still from Tenet

The outlet mentioned that a script was also in the works as the film was delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes,

“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back. As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”

This makes the star the seventh actor to portray the role after legends such as Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. The last film with James Bond was the 2021 Cary Joji Fukunaga directorial No Time To Die.

Henry Cavill’s James Bond Campaign Back On Track After Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Casting Was Debunked

Henry Cavill in The Man From U.N.C.L.E

Soon after The Sun reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was offered the role of James Bond, the news was debunked as he did not confirm the news in his recent Rolling Stone interview. When asked if he would be playing the role, the Kick-Ass star reportedly kept mum and dodged the question. He then mentioned,

“I can only really talk about the things I’m going to show and tell. So, The Fall Guy, Nosferatu, Kraven the Hunter. I’m here to promote those.”

This has prompted fans to resume their campaign to get Eon Productions to cast Henry Cavill as James Bond. The Man of Steel star had previously been a top contender for the role when casting was underway for Casino Royale, but the actor lost out to Daniel Craig (via Channel 5).

The actor has been a fan favorite for the role, especially after playing spies in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and this year’s Argylle. Fans seem to be elated at the prospect of the actor still being in the running and have bashed The Sun for spreading lies.

Though Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s casting has not been confirmed, it is not unconfirmed either as the actor’s silence and refusal to give a committed answer may indicate that he might have been considered for the role. However, no confirmation still means that the ‘Henry Cavill for James Bond’ campaign has momentum.

  • Revealing the inspiration behind Elden Ring, will Henry Cavill fans be satisfied?

Revealing the inspiration behind Elden Ring, will Henry Cavill fans be satisfied?

Elden Ring’s inspirations were just as beautiful and immersive.

Elden Ring’s dauntingly enormous open world has been one of its greatest strengths since its release in 2022. The 2022 GOTY’s world has established itself as a landmark achievement in game design that will no doubt serve as inspiration for future developers.

A Trio Of Open World Icons Shaped Elden Ring

The FromSoftware masterpiece takes inspiration from renowned games like Elden Scrolls, The Witcher, and Breath of the Wild. Image credit: Nintendo

In an interview with Xbox Wire Japan, Miyazaki offered insights into the Elden Ring’s design philosophy. He asserted that Elden Ring isn’t a direct copy of any particular open-world title, which is a no-brainer considering how it innovates over the existing stagnant open-world formula:

I don’t think we took specific inspiration from any particular game, but I’ve personally played a lot of open world games that are considered classics of the genre, and I’ve been influenced by all of them.

He cites established classics like The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as the primary inspirations behind Elden Ring’s world design. And it makes perfect sense.

Taking Elder Scrolls’ sprawling landscapes, The Witcher 3’s ingenious environmental storytelling cues, and the emphasis on player exploration and discovery in Breath of the Wild worked well for the game. Putting them all together in one colossal action-RPG was bound to yield jaw-droppingly immersive results, and it did.

The FromSoftware Secret Sauce Is Ever Present

FromSoftware’s magic has not been compromised one bit in Elden Ring. Image credit: FromSoftware

Inspiration doesn’t have to mean dilution, however. FromSoftware’s signature DNA still remains deeply embedded within Elden Ring. Just as in their previous works like the Dark Souls series and Bloodborne, challenging boss encounters take center stage in the action-RPG. Miyazaki reveals that the world itself was meticulously crafted around these groan-inducing battles.

“Our first step when designing the map was to decide where the bosses would appear, especially the important ones,” he explained, “Therefore, the map was really designed on the basis of boss gameplay, then we adjusted the boss gameplay based on their location on the map.” This confirms that boss fights and a world that seamlessly integrates them were two big pieces of the puzzle.

This brilliant design philosophy has demonstrably worked wonders for FromSoftware. Elden Ring’s open world breathed new life into the genre, and the game rightfully ended up being the 2022 Game of the Year. In fact, it’s the most-awarded game of all time, sitting at over 330 GOTY awards.

Will Shadow of the Erdtree match the magic of Elden Ring’s open world? Image credit: FromSoftware

The staggering amount of accolades showcases the sheer powerhouse Elden Ring has become in such a short time. It masterfully blends the best bits of established open-world classics while remaining true to FromSoftware’s core design principles of challenging gameplay and fragmented storytelling. The game manages to be a total reinvention while sticking to its roots.

Elden Ring is a monumental masterclass in open-world design, drastically innovating upon tired, old concepts to offer a world brimming with individuality, and one that will no doubt be used as the benchmark for future open-world titles. All that remains to be seen is whether its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, can mesmerize players with its world all over again.
