Raunchy early role comes back to haunt Meghan

Billed as ‘a real-life guide to sex, drugs and bad behaviour’, a shelved TV project now threatens to embarrass Meghan Markle in a big way.

You might think England’s royal family has total control of Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle — but they ain’t got nothing on hungry Hollywood producers.

Monday on The Late Late Show with James Corden, guest Max Greenfield (The Neighborhood) revealed he had filmed a raunchy pilot with Markle way back in 2011, after her stint as a briefcase model on Deal or No Deal, and before her run on USA’s Suits.

“It was called like, The Girls and Boys Guide To Getting Down, Greenfield, 38, tells Corden. “It was a pilot for Comedy Central; Adam Pally was in it.”

Now, nearly a decade later, the long-shelved project will finally see the light of day.

“I got some sort of email recently saying, ‘This person has bought it and they’re putting it out’ and I was like, ‘Great, good for you,’” says Greenfield.

If the Queen isn’t on board with Meghan and Prince Harry being philanthropists, she sure isn’t going to be happy about this.

The 2011 pilot has been bought by a mystery distributor.

The IMDb plot synopsis for The Girls and Boys Guide to Getting Down bills it as an “outrageous” satirical guide to surviving a marathon bender (i.e., “which substances shouldn’t be mixed”) — and, of course, getting laid. Another familiar face stands out in the cast list: Eva Marcille, now a cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

No word yet on the mystery buyer — whose efforts to cash in on royal mania will almost certainly be greeted by a rabid audience hungry for all things Meghan.

Meanwhile, Green expressed some regrets about not befriending the future wife of Prince Harry.

“Meghan and I, we really didn’t connect after that or during that,” says Greenfield. “Look, had I known, I maybe would have played my cards a little differently.”

Secret plot to ‘bring down’ Meghan Markle: royal biographer claims

A royal biographer has made a string of wild claims about the Duchess of Sussex, including that ‘men in grey’ at Buckingham Palace are plotting to bring her down.

“Men in grey” at Buckingham Palace are plotting to bring down Meghan Markle, a royal biographer has claimed.

Anna Pasternak, author of a biography of Princess Diana, has made the wild claim the Duchess of Sussex, 37, is seen as a “threat to the throne” by Palace insiders.

Pasternak, who has a book coming out on Wallis Simpson, thinks Meghan has “rejuvenated the spirit” of the American divorcee who had a relationship with Edward VIII, The Sun reports.

The then king’s relationship with Simpson led to him abdicating the throne and the couple married in 1937.

Pasternak, told the Sunday Express’ S magazine: “Meghan is like a grenade that’s been thrown into this archaic system and there are explosions already going on which I think will continue”.

“In a sense Meghan has rejuvenated the spirit of Wallis and I hope people take the view of her as a kind, witty, loyal and dignified person who unfairly became the most vilified woman in the world.”

These so-called “men in grey”, who have never been named, were previously mentioned by Diana during her marriage to Prince Charles.

Pasternak added: “I fear if Meghan and Harry’s star rises too high that will be perceived as the courtiers Princess Diana called men in grey as a threat to the heir.

“She [Meghan] cannot set the agenda, she has to toe the line, and support the monarch and heir. I don’t think she realises that.”

The comments come as it was revealed Meghan and Prince Harry made a secret visit to see her mum, Doria Ragland, at her Los Angeles home.

While it is not clear when the trip was made, a neighbour told The Sun: “Meghan will always come back to Doria, this will always be her home”.

“They are forever in touch, and Meghan has been here to stay on more than one occasion since going public with Harry.

“I even saw him here once, but it’s not my place to say any more.”

Meghan Markle is making Prince Harry ‘miserable and glum’

The Duchess of Sussex is building a reputation of being a “difficult person” and making Harry “miserable and glum”, according to a new claim.

Meghan Markle is a “pretty difficult person” who is making Prince Harry “miserable and glum”, a royal expert has shockingly claimed.

Daily Telegraph opinion editor James Morrow told Sky News Australia that there were signs the Duchess of Sussex is “not all that easy to work for” after she had supposedly lost her third key aide just three months after her last assistant quit, The Sun reported.

Commenting on Meghan’s transition into the Royal Family, Mr Morrow said: “I think it is a particularly tough gig for a princess like Meghan Markle who is in fact actually fairly notorious — something of a princess in the non-royal sense of the word.

“Her politics are very left wing. She is always on about this cause or the other.”

Describing the former Suits actress as a “pretty difficult character to deal with”, Mr Morrow acknowledged: “Yes sure, it is hard working for the royals but it would be hard working for a government ministry or working in any sort of roles.”

Meanwhile, Mr Morrow also argued that Meghan’s behaviour has taken its toll on Prince Harry.

The expert added: “Every time Harry is with her, he always just looks very glum and miserable.

“However, every time you see a picture of him with the lads and doing something else, it is all smiles and laughter.”

What’s more, Mr Morrow also accused Meghan of being a “hypocrite” for enjoying a lavish baby shower last month at “great expense”.

He added: “The things we have seen about Meghan Markle where she took that private jet to fly to a baby shower in New York at great expense while she is preaching about climate change and so on.

“I think a lot of people are going to say ‘you know, I think this woman is a bit of a hypocrite here’ and she is probably — on the balance of probabilities — and not all that easy to work for.”

Meghan’s assistant private secretary Amy Pickerill is believed to stepping down from her position when the Royal couple move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor later this month.

This latest departure follows the resignation of Meghan’s personal assistant Melissa Toubati who quit just since months after the former Suits actress married into the Royal Family.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ‘panic’ laid bare over bombshell new documentary

The documentary for Germany’s ZDF network will delve into Meghan Markle’s life before Prince Harry, according to reports.

    Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly in a panic over a new tell-all documentary by a German royal commentator. The upcoming programme from Ulrike Grunewal is said to focus on the Duchess of Sussex’s past, with reports Meghan fearing what might emerge.

The Duchess has had no direct involvement in the documentary reportedly being fronted by Ms Grunewal for Germany’s ZDF network, according to reports.

Unnamed sources cited by the same publication say the Sussexes will be wary of what could come out about Meghan’s life before her marriage to Prince Harry.

An unnamed source told to OK! Magazine: “There are many things that both of them, especially Meghan, don’t necessarily want in the public domain.

“It’s no secret they both led colourful lives before they met each other and while Harry has spoken about a lot of mistakes in his book, there are still things about Meghan we don’t know.”

There are reports the makers of the documentary are in California, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex live with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Meghan became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry in Windsor on May 19, 2018. The couple will have marked their sixth wedding anniversary on Sunday.

She was born in Los Angeles in 1981 to Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland. A former actress, Meghan is known for playing Rachel Zane in the hit US legal drama Suits. She has reportedly been offered thousands to return to the drama.

Since stepping down as a working royal, Meghan and Harry have featured in a Netflix docu-series which levelled a series of allegations against the Royal Family.

Harry has also published a ghost-written memoir, Spare, in which he made a series of well-documented claims against the Windsors.

But the German documentary may probe Meghan’s presence on the Hollywood party scene before her entry into royal life.

People might also be willing to discuss her past, including her first marriage to film producer and literary manager, Trevor Engelson.

The German documentary comes as Harry and Meghan are in the middle of producing further shows for Netflix.

Prince Harry revealed details of his childhood in his bombshell memoir, which offered claims on how King Charles took to parenting and single parenting.

The Prince Of Wales Attends 'International Year Of The Reef' 2018 Meeting

Prince Harry made scathing claims about King Charles’s parenting with a searing six-word remark in his controversial memoir Spare.

Relations between the Duke and the Royal Family have been tense for years, ever since he left the Firm with Meghan Markle in 2020, but his bombshell memoir Spare, in which Harry made several claims against his family, sent tensions to a breaking point.

Prince Harry reflected on his upbringing in the book and his relationship with his father.

Following the death of Princess Diana, King Charles was left as a single parent, with Prince Harry’s issuing a scathing remark on the situation: “Pa was never made for that.”

The Duke, however, claimed that “he tried”, but had ultimately “always given an air of being not quite ready for parenthood the responsibilities, the patience, the time.” He claimed that even King Charles “would’ve admitted as much”.

The Prince Of Wales Attends 'International Year Of The Reef' 2018 Meeting.

Prince Harry claimed that his father often struggled to talk about his feelings, choosing instead to write letters rather than speak face-to-face.

He wrote: “He had trouble communicating, trouble listening, trouble being intimate face-to-face. On occasion, after a long multi-course dinner, I’d walk upstairs and find a letter on my pillow.

“The letter would say how proud he was of me for something I’d done or accomplished. I’d smile, place it under my pillow, but also wonder why he hadn’t said this moments ago, while seated directly across from me.”

He also discussed fond memories of King Charles, who would always take the time to sit with him before bed and make sure to leave the door open as he was scared of the dark.

Prince Harry added: “I’d shout downstairs: Going to bed, Pa! He’d always shout back cheerfully: I’ll be there shortly, darling boy! True to his word, minutes later he’d be sitting on the edge of my bed.

“He never forgot that I didn’t like the dark, so he’d gently tickle my face until I fell asleep. I have the fondest memories of his hands on my cheeks, my forehead, then waking to find him gone, magically, the door always considerately left open a crack.”

Prince Harry remains distant from his father, living in California with Meghan, and the two were not able to reunite during his visit to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The Duke did not meet with any of his family members during the fleeting visit, before jetting off to Nigeria with Meghan for more Invictus Games celebrations.

Meghan Markle ‘in tears’ over ‘unfair criticism’ of American Riviera Orchard

Meghan Markle announced the launch of her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard in March, and is gearing up for when her new business venture finally goes live

Meghan Markle is reportedly “in tears” over the “unfair criticism” of her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

The Duchess of Sussex announced her new business venture in March, and initially teased fans with vague details about her brand. In a cryptic video that was artfully shot at her and Prince Harry ’s mansion in Montecito, the Duchess of Sussex could be seen cooking in the kitchen, as well as walking around the lavish grounds of their family home. Details of what Meghan would be selling soon emerged, and as well as kitchen and homeware, the mother-of-two was planning on launching her own line of oils, nut butters, jams, and preserves, as well as home fragrances and furnishings.

Fuss over the Duchess’ new brand soon died down, and after no more details were given by Meghan about when American Riviera Orchard would eventually go live, she was forced to prepare for a huge PR drive to improve her image before the launch. However, royal expert and author Tom Quinn believes that Meghan would have been devastated following the lacklustre reception to American Riviera Orchard, especially after the criticism she received over her new jam.

Meghan Markle 'in tears' over harsh feedback to new company American Riviera Orchard after strawberry jam lampooned | Sky News Australia

Meghan released a collection of jams as the first product from her new brand
“The one fly in the ointment is Meghan’s new internet brand, America Riviera Orchard. Meghan was in tears when the brand launched and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special,” he explained. “She has reached the point now where she thinks that anything and everything she does will be unfairly criticised. Like her husband, she feels that people are unfairly picking on her – she cannot understand why people don’t admire her work.”

He claimed Meghan wasn’t prepared for any possible criticism she might face once American Riviera Orchard goes live later this year. “She is especially sensitive about any criticism of her luxurious lifestyle in the US – from her point of view this is something to be admired not criticised,” Tom added.

The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly planning on a PR blitz in the run up to American Riviera Orchard going live, and will attempt to win over new followers for the brand as she makes a string of appearances on chat shows and podcasts as well as giving interviews to “specially selected” journalists. The 42-year-old is said to be desperate to improve her image, both in the US and the UK, and wants to “drive online sales” when her brand goes live, according to the Daily Express.

  • Palace’s unforgivable Meghan blunder

    Palace’s unforgivable Meghan blunder

How Kensington Palace has let Meghan Markle down

For the past 846 days, Kensington Palace has been guilty of a truly astonishing breach of its duty of care to Meghan Markle.

Do you remember where you were when you found out that Prince Harry, Our Ginger Charmer, was dating actress Meghan Markle? I do, seriously.

The first thing I thought was, huzzah! After dating succession of blonde, bubbly aristocratic gals who looked like they knew how to both gut a pheasant and make a cracking Harvey Wallbanger, it was a joyful shock that Hazza had finally gotten serious with a woman who had a) a paying job, and b) wasn’t intimately acquainted with the fascinator section of John Lewis.

The second thing I thought was, who is Meghan Markle? (I had never gotten past the first season of Suits and wouldn’t have been able to name the cast on pain of death or being forced to listen to Prince Charles’ haikus.)

Meghan has faced inexcusable abuse since joining the royal family. Picture: Hannah Mckay — Pool / Getty Images
Meghan has faced inexcusable abuse since joining the royal family. Picture: Hannah Mckay — Pool / Getty Images
But all that changed very, very fast. Within minutes of news breaking that Harry had been secretly dating the actress and Tig founder, her name was trending on Google.

Within hours, Meghan’s Toronto house was surrounded by press and within days, Kensington Palace had taken the highly unusual step of putting out an extraordinary press release lambasting the “sexist and racist” attacks and “wave of abuse and harassment” that the then 35-year-old was facing. (Such was the scrutiny that Harry paid for a bodyguard for Meghan out of his own pocket. Awww, shucks. Why say it with flowers when you can say it with security?)

Yet here we are, 846 days later and Kensington Palace is only now putting out guidelines about how they plan to try and deal with the tsunami of abuse that Meghan and Kate are facing on Twitter, Instagram et al.

And let’s be clear here: While Kate is the subject of some vile abuse, it is Meghan, who identifies as bi-racial, who seems to receive the lion’s share of the hate and torment.

Meghan and Kate have both been targeted by social media trolls. Picture: Eddie Mulholland — WPA Pool/Getty Images
Meghan and Kate have both been targeted by social media trolls. Picture: Eddie Mulholland — WPA Pool/Getty Images
Today, the Palace released its “Social Media Community Guidelines,” a brief document that basically stipulates users aren’t allowed to be racist, sexist idiots (my choice of words clearly) or to “promote discrimination based on … religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age”.

(Users must also not post comments that are “off-topic, irrelevant or unintelligible” — beware a stray apostrophe, debating the merits of the new cast of the Great British Bake Off or posting after your sixth sherry then!)

Failure to adhere to these rules will see users’ comments deleted, their profiles blocked or even being reported to the police.

Why the hell has it taken the Palace so long?

The royal family boasts a veritable army of press officers, media relations advisers and communications directors — what the dickens have they been doing for the past 846 days? Putting out a press release here and there about Princess Eugenie’s wedding to tequila ambassador Jack Brooksbank can only take so many days.

In January it was revealed that both the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex were facing a torrent of abuse from internet trolls and that some poor person in the Palace press office was having to trawl through the online comments and to try and stymie the flow of hate using nothing more powerful than the “Delete” key. (Oh, the poor, poor soul. May their G & Ts always be doubles.)

It was also revealed that the Palace had directly contacted Twitter and Instagram for help countering the online hate.

The palace should have moved much faster to protect its newest Duchess. Picture: Pool/Samir Hussein/WireImage
The palace should have moved much faster to protect its newest Duchess. Picture: Pool/Samir Hussein/WireImage
However, all of this feels like too little, too late. A sternly worded PDF might be a step in the right direction but it feels like trying to hold back the rapacious hordes at a Harvey Nichols sale using nothing more threatening than a sharpened hat pin.

Meghan has been connected to the royal family for more than two and a half years and yet the Palace is only now putting down actual rules for online behaviour? Must do better chaps. You’ve let the HRHs down with this one.

Meghan Markle was told by Harry ‘what she can do’ says expert

Meghan Markle, 39, claimed it was Kate, Princess of Wales, 39, who reduced her to tears and not the other way around ahead of her royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. Speaking to Oprah Winfrey in a bombshell interview about her time as a senior royal, Meghan lifted the lid on the spat between the two Duchesses that took place in the lead-up to Meghan’s big day.

The pre-wedding row had previously been reported by Tatler as Meghan having been the one to reduce Kate to tears, an allegation Meghan sought to turn around.

Speaking to Oprah, the Duchess said: “Everyone in the institution knew that didn’t happen.”

Asked what did go on by Oprah, Meghan responded: “What actually happened? The reverse.”

Meghan added: “I am not sharing this to be in any way disparaging about her [Kate]. I would hope that she would want that to be corrected.”

According to Meghan, Kate “really hurt my feelings” but then later apologised.

Meghan said she had wanted her sister-in-law to back decisions she had made in regards to the wedding.

The Duchess said: “She made me cry and it really hurt my feelings… I thought in the context of everything else going on in the days before the wedding, didn’t it make sense to do what everyone else was doing knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot.”

Meghan conceded that Kate “apologised and I [had] forgiven her”.

As well a serious of damaging accusations against the Royal Family, Meghan revealed several new details about her and Prince Harry’s personal life.

Among the bombshell revelations was the fact that Harry and Meghan tied the knot three days prior to their official royal wedding.

Meghan told Oprah:  “I was thinking about it, you know our wedding—three days before our wedding, we got married.

“No one knows that. We called the Archbishop and we just said, look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world.”

Meghan added: “But we want our union between us, so the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury and that was the piece that…”

Meghan and Harry also revealed the gender of their unborn baby, confirming they were due to welcome a daughter this summer.

The couple told Oprah:  “It’s a girl!”

Speaking of their complete family, Prince Harry added: “Two is it.”

Bombshells claims from Meghan’s Oprah interview

Meghan Markle made a serious of damaging claims about the Royal Family during her time as a working royal.

Among the biggest bombshells were Meghan’s claim a relative of Harry asked him “how dark” their unborn child would be with the Duchess claiming Archie being mixed-race was a “problem” for the royals after Oprah asked her if they were worried their son was “too brown.”

The duchess also said she had suicidal thoughts while five months pregnant with Archie.

Meghan she reached a point where she “just didn’t want to be alive anymore. And that was a very real and clear and frightening and constant thought.”

Also speaking of their friendship on Archetypes, Meghan described how the pair spent time at her Montecito mansion, where their children played in the swimming pool whilst they drank wine “on the terrace” and were “giddy like schoolgirls”.

An intimate moment between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been explained by a lipreader, who decoded what the married couple were saying to each other during a romantic date night.

This time last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a basketball match at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, where they were joined by 20,000 other fans to watch the LA Lakers play the Memphis Grizzlies.

The pair were sweetly snuggled up together and were even captured on the big screen by the Kiss Cam, leading to thousands cheering them on as Harry attempted to kiss his wife.

Darren Stanton, a body language expert from Betfair Bingo, also claimed the couple’s “tactile” nature displayed the “level of rapport” they have with one another.

He said: “Meghan looks quite relaxed, she’s leaning forward and smiling – a genuine smile. We see Harry speaking to somebody next to him, leaning in towards them which is a sign of interest.

“He then leans the other way into Meghan, bringing his face close to hers, which demonstrates the level of rapport and ease they have around each other.

“Appearing like any other couple in love, Harry and Meghan, while happy to address and interact with passers-by, were clearly focused on each other, with their tactile display revealing how they’re not afraid to display their intimacy in a public setting.”

Speaking after the apparent kiss cam ‘snub’, Mr Stanton added: “We see Harry appear to make a joke as he leaned into Meghan, before pulling a funny face.

“Meghan appears to be a source of comfort and reassurance for Harry and it’s clear to see the admiration she has from him, with Meghan showing a glimpse of this as she laughed at her husband’s confident and humorous display, pulling him in closer to her.”
