Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson has appeared to weigh in on the long-running feud between Prince Harry & Meghan Markle and the rest of the royal family.

The 64-year-old told of the importance of family members supporting one another while attending the 2024 amFar Gala in Cannes.

In an interview with People Magazine, she claimed that the key to maintaining a close-knit family unit is “forgiveness”.

“I think family unity is key … I think the key to life is that we all support each other,” she said. “And also forgiveness is a great thing. I think forgiveness of yourself and forgiveness of others.”

She shared the sentiment after being asked about how she has been helping to support Kate Middleton and King Charles in their cancer battles.

In response to Fergie’s remarks, royal expert Tom Quinn suggested to The Mirror that they were a “clear” reference to the ongoing rift in the family.

He went on to add: “But the Duchess has her own well-publicised family difficulties to deal with – she has never stopped trying to persuade the senior royals to rehabilitate her former husband Prince Andrew and when she talked about unity and the need for forgiveness, she no doubt also had her husband in mind.”

Ferguson, who is the ex-wife of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, is mother to Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 33, as well as grandmother to Sienna, August and Ernest.

“Becoming a grandmother has really changed my outlook on life,” she recently revealed while in Melbourne at the Global Citizen Summit.

“I have always loved nature and the great outdoors, but now I find myself reflecting on what sort of world we are going to leave to our grandchildren’s generation.

“Let’s be honest, it doesn’t look great, does it? So far, my generation has failed to take the big decisions necessary to safeguard the future of the planet, to the point that scientists are telling us the changes we are seeing to our climate and biodiversity are becoming irreversible.

“I really hope we can take global, concerted action to change things. We have a responsibility to do so. That’s one of the issues I hope to be talking about at the Global Citizen NOW summit in Melbourne.”

“I want to empower girls and women around the world,” Ferguson explained. “The mother-daughter relationship is at the heart of that. In countries where women haven’t been educated, we want them to fight for their daughters to have the chances that they didn’t.

Prince Harry’s ’19 minutes of pain’ at Queen’s Jubilee highlights Royal family rift

Prince Harry has attended a number of family events since stepping back from Royal duties in 2020, but one ceremony in particular is said to have been particularly painful for the Duke of Sussex

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex attends the National Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen's reign at Saint Paul's Cathedral in London

Prince Harry ‘endured 19 minutes of pain’, amid a royal reunion, an expert has claimed

Prince Harry, having stepped back from Royal duties and relocated to the US, left behind almost everything familiar to him. Raised within the confines of the Royal Family, Harry had only ever known the strict hierarchies of the monarchy and his high-ranking role within it.

His celebrated career in the Armed Forces also placed him within another hierarchical institution with even stricter regulations. Yet despite stepping down from official duties, the Duke has continued to attend family events, with one significant ceremony reportedly seeing him endure “19 minutes of pain” as it became evident that his status within the family had changed irrevocably, a Royal expert claims.

The event was the National Service of Thanksgiving, part of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. This occasion marked the first time Meghan and Harry attended the same event as William and Kate since their departure from Royal duties and their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey the previous year.

The service was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral, the same venue where William and Harry’s parents wed 41 years prior, reports the Mirror.

At the event, Harry’s role within the Royal Family drastically changed explained one expert (Image: Getty Images)

The couples were seated on opposite sides of the cathedral, with Kate and William in the front row alongside then-Prince Charles and Camilla. In contrast, Harry and Meghan were positioned next to their cousins Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice and their husbands Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.

Richard Kay, writing for the Mail, suggested that the seating arrangement highlighted the “public reality of Harry’s slide down the royal pecking order” before labelling Charles, Camilla, William and Kate as the “real stars of the show.”

“As non-working royals, they are now very much in the second division,” he commented. “And although spared the indignity of sharing the coach that brought a clutch of minor royals who similarly do not do official duties, such as Princess Michael of Kent’s son Lord Frederick Windsor, they were only just behind them.”

Kay added: “It was a painful 19 minutes before William and Kate arrived to take their seats. If the reality of his new life had escaped Prince Harry thus far, it must surely have sunk in then.”

Two years on from the incident, there appears to be little progress in mending the rift between the two brothers, which was evident during the celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign.

Their grandmother’s death a few months later brought them together under more somber circumstances. However, the release of Harry and Meghan’s six-part Netflix documentary, along with Harry’s revealing memoir Spare, seemed to widen the gap between the brothers.

Since Kate’s disclosure of her cancer treatment, it has been reported that Harry and Meghan have “reached out” to the Wales family in private while also publicly backing Kate’s plea for privacy during her treatment and recovery period. However, despite this gesture, the brothers did not meet during Harry’s recent trip to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, leaving questions about whether they will reconcile.

After years of feuding, Prince Harry and King Charles’ relationship is shattered and the monarch has reached ‘the end of his tether’ as Harry ‘refuses to give an inch’

    Charles and Harry

King Charles has had enough of Prince Harry’s behaviour

King Charles is desperate to reunite with Prince Harry, but he’s now reached “the end of his tether” as Harry refuses to compromise, a royal expert claims.
The pair have been caught in the middle of a bitter feud for years. When Harry and his wife Meghan Markle left the Royal Family in 2020, they opened up about life behind palace walls and made a number of shocking accusations.

Harry his slammed his father and said he “had trouble communicating, trouble listening, trouble being intimate face-to-face” in his debut memoir Spare. Their relationship has now been left in pieces and royal author Tom Quinn has suggested the monarch has has enough.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Tom said: “Charles feels he has made huge effort to repair his relationship with his son, but that Harry refuses to give an inch. With that in mind Charles is changing his tactics.

“The new plan is to take a harder line with Harry; a move from good cop to bad cop, but palace insiders agree that Charles is at the end of his tether. He wants to be reconciled his son, but nothing he does seems to work.”
The royal expert suggested the problem lies in Harry’s childhood. He said: “One underlying problem is that Harry was never really that close to his father as a child – looked after by staff and shunted between Diana and Charles, Harry has always looked lost and forgotten and it’s too late now for his father to do anything about it.”

Royal fans had hoped Harry and Charles would reunite when the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK earlier this month, however, the pair failed to meet. At the time, a spokesperson for Harry said the monarch was too busy to see his son.

In a statement, they said: “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
However, it was later reported that Charles had offered to meet with his son, but Harry turned down the offer. The Sunday Times claimed the monarch agreed to let his son stay in a royal residence for the trip, but this was turned down by Harry, who instead opted to stay in a hotel.

“She wants everything all at once, and it’s backfiring on her again,” said a source.

Meghan Markle is refusing to give up on her dreams of showbiz glory, but is feeling the weight of reality after several of her recent ventures with Prince Harry haven’t gone as planned, according to a sensational new report.

Insiders said the Duchess of Sussex was bummed after a podcast network company delayed her series until 2025, RadarOnline.com has learned. The pushback is speculated to be from perceived scheduling conflicts.

Harry, meanwhile, was claimed to have been “mortified” by the blowback over their projects and is insisting “he won’t tolerate another show business disaster.”

News broke that Meghan joined forces with Lemonada Media for a fresh podcast deal in February.

It was claimed there were fears of it being eclipsed by her newly launched lifestyle brand and cooking show, royal expert Richard Eden explained.

A spokesman for Markle declined to comment in April, but sources close to the former senior royal said she had a list of “very high-profile guests” scheduled to participate in her new podcasts.

News broke that Meghan joined forces with Lemonada Media for a fresh podcast deal in February.

“Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024,” a statement from the media group read while announcing their collaboration.

“Our plan [is] to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works.”

Spotify previously scrapped her Archetypes podcast in June 2023 after 12 episodes dropped, following which Bill Simmons, Spotify’s head of podcast innovation and monetisation, slammed the Duke and Duchess as “f—— grifters.”

It was claimed there were fears of the podcast being eclipsed by her newly launched lifestyle brand and cooking show, royal expert Richard Eden explained.

Markle has already started sending out samples of her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, after she filed trademarks to sell cutlery, cookbooks and jarred foods.

“She wants everything all at once, and it’s backfiring on her again,” said a source, according to The National Enquirer.

Harry, meanwhile, was claimed to have been “mortified” by the blowback over their projects and is insisting “he won’t tolerate another show business disaster.”

Critics have started mocking what they perceived to be cheap labels on Markle’s jams.

“Hollywood is glam and glitz on the outside, but the real stars have worked hard for their success,” noted one source in the report, who said Markle’s former royal status may be overshadowing her attempts after the couple’s Netflix series and Harry’s memoir, Spare.

According to the report, it will be essential for Markle to win over her critics.

One source reasoned, “If the public doesn’t like you, they won’t get behind you, and no amount of money you throw at the problem will make it go away.”

‘Losing interest’: Major sign Netflix will axe Prince Harry and Meghan Markle amid content strategy overhaul

Major changes at streaming giant Netflix could spell trouble for the future of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s $100 million content partnership amid rumours the deal will be axed next year.
Streaming giant Netflix is reportedly “losing interest” in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle amid growing speculation the Sussexes’ $100 million content partnership could be torn up.

The Sussexes inked a five-year deal with Netflix soon after “stepping back” from royal duties and moving to the United States in 2020.

The deal, made in partnership with Harry and Meghan’s Archewell production company, has produced projects like the Sussexes’ controversial docu-series slamming the monarchy.
Royal insider Richard Fitzwilliams believes the appetite for Harry and Meghan content has faded following the conclusion of Netflix’s long running the drama series The Crown.

The controversial series, which broke streaming records and swept the annual Emmy awards, was an often-unflattering look at the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and her family and concluded after season six with the introduction of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s characters.

“(The Sussex deal) runs out next year and Netflix are no longer producing the series of The Crown, as they previously were. They might therefore have less interest in the Sussexes,” he told the Daily Mail on Thursday.

Despite Meghan and Harry’s waning popularity in the US and the embarrassing demise of their Spotify podcasting deal, Netflix has persevered with the former working royals and currently have two new Sussex programs in production.

The first is a Nigella Lawson-style cooking show helmed by the Duchess of Sussex while Harry is understood to be spearheading a Drive to Survive-style series on elite polo.

The streamer paid about $100 million to the couple for a five-year partnership. Picture by CHARLY TRIBALLEAU.
“Meghan’s programme for Netflix on cookery and entertaining and her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard and Harry’s series for Netflix on polo, show some much-needed activity (but) they clearly need more A-list endorsements,” Mr Fitzwilliams said.

Perhaps more concerning for the Sussexes, Netflix has recently brought in Dan Lin to handle the streamer’s film production division following viewer backlash to a number of big budget but poorly received original movies.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mr Lin will aim to create “fewer, bigger, better” films and series for the giant at lower prices, which could be a death knell for the Sussexes at Netflix.
“Gone are the days when Netflix would fork over seemingly unlimited budgets,” the outlet warned.

Meghan Markle has become “irritated” at Prince Harry after realising he’s not the “charismatic figure” she thought he was, according to one Royal expert.

The Duchess of Sussex has been spotted out and about without her husband recently, enjoying a ski trip with her gal pals and dining at a swanky restaurant with a top TV executive.

Royal author Tom Quinn has suggested these solo appearances come after Meghan became annoyed at Harry for “playing second fiddle” to her.

Speaking to The Mirror, he said the couple are going through a tough time and suggested Meghan has only just realised what Harry is really like.

Tom said: “Meghan and Harry are going through a really stressful period right now.

“Meghan has realised Harry just isn’t the sort of campaigning charismatic figure, she thought he was.

Tom then suggested fans can expect more solo appearances from the former Suits actress.

Tom said: “The irony is that Harry hated playing second fiddle to William and now he’s playing second fiddle to Meghan and she is getting irritated about it.

Harry joined his wife in Austin, Texas, last night and the couple enjoyed some time together on Thursday as they went out for a fancy meal at SoHo House.

According to one diner, the couple seemed to be in great spirits. “Harry was very animated throughout the dinner. They were super low key and seemed happy to be around the upbeat vibes at the lively venue,” they told People magazine.

Later today, Meghan will join journalist Katie Couric, actress Brooke Shields and diversity equity and inclusion consultant at Peoplism, Nancy Wang Yuen for a talk at SXSW Festival. It has also been announced that Errin Haines, host of The Amendment podcast, will moderate the session.

The talk will focus on “how the ubiquitous nature of social media is creating an often dangerous environment which has led to serious mental health issues for teenage girls in particular,” according to the festival description.

Meghan Markle gave an inspiring feminist speech as she championed new mothers at South by Southwest Festival in Texas.

However, since the rousing talk – an excerpt of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare of her telling Kate Middleton she had “baby brain” has resurfaced reports the Mirror.

During the keynote speech, where she appeared alongside journalist Katie Couric, actress Brooke Shields and diversity equity and inclusion consultant at Peoplism, Nancy Wang Yuen and Errin Haines, host of The Amendment podcast, Meghan expressed empathy for new mothers.

The Duchess claimed it was a “really vulnerable time” that is “dizzying” and “messy” while claiming “there is a lot of work to be done supporting moms.”

However, according to the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell memoir, Kate and Prince William reportedly believed Meghan wasn’t as sympathetic to Kate following her pregnancy.

Whilst penning Spare, Harry revealed Meghan told Kate she had “baby brain” after giving birth to Prince Louis, which did not go down well with the Princess of Wales.

“You talked about my hormones. We are not close enough for you to talk about my hormones!” Kate reportedly told her, demanding an apology.

The Duke of Sussex claimed that William pointed at Meghan and told her that her “rude” comment was not appropriate in Britain.

In response, Meghan told her brother-in-law to “take your finger out of my face.”

It comes as Meghan appeared at SXSW Friday and advocated for new mums.

“My husband and I, our foundation the Archewell Foundation, helped to fund it because from our standpoint—and certainly from mine—it felt vital to see the information,” Meghan she said during her speech.

“It’s just always loved understanding women and our stories and our lives experiences and our shared experiences. I was really curious to see what the report would uncover.”

“The way we see ourselves is reflected accurately or sometimes to our disservice, inaccurately,” she added.

“From a philanthropic standpoint there is obviously a lot of work to be done supporting moms. You can start with paid leave.”

She then emphasised the importance of representation and how “vulnerable” being a new mum is.

“When you’re a new mom, it’s a really vulnerable time. The effect that social media can have on new mothers, even just the lack of sleep because they spend all this time scrolling, but it can also be really dizzying for them to see this portrayal of motherhood that looks so perfect when we all know it’s not perfect. We all know that it’s messy. I’m fortunate in that, among the privileges I have in my life, I have an incredible partner.”

She then went on to praise Harry, who was sitting in the front row, while calling to protect new mothers.

“My husband is such a hands-on dad and such a supporter of me and my family. That I don’t take for granted. That is a real blessing. But a lot of people don’t have that same level of support,” she continued. “So I think for us, it’s about putting safeguards in so women, and moms especially, can not feel like they’re even more vulnerable when they go online.”

Meghan Markle made some comments in her old blog The Tig about Prince William and Princess Kate’s wedding years before she met her husband, Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex used to run her lifestyle blog and in an old post, she mentioned the “endless conversation about Princess Kate” and the “pomp” around the royal wedding when the now Prince and Princess of Wales were tying the knot in 2011, writes The Mirror.

After interviewing Princess Alia Al-Senussi, who is a member of Libyan royalty, Meghan wrote in her blog: “Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.

“For those of you unfamiliar with the ‘80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man, and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength. We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here.

“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”

Sharing her thoughts in her controversial interview with Oprah in 2021, Meghan said she went into the royal family “naively” when she started dating Harry in 2016 and they went on to get married two years later on 19 May, 2018.

Prince Harry is likely to feel regretful with him and Meghan Markle wrestling “conflicting emotions” after Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis, an expert claims.

The Princess of Wales publicly revealed she had been diagnosed with the disease in a televised video message on Friday evening and is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wished her and her family “health and healing” which they hoped she would be able to carry out “privately and in peace.”

Since the Sussexes’ exit from the Firm back in 2020 and their relocation to the US, Harry and Meghan have publicly aired allegations and grievances against the monarchy and some of the most senior members of the Firm, specifically William and Kate.

Kate Middleton publicly announced she had been diagnosed with cancer in a televised video message on Friday evening

It’s now been revealed by ITV’s royal editor Chris Ship, that Harry “has reached out to his brother” after learning of Kate’s diagnosis amid their ongoing feud, the Mirror reports.

According to royal expert and historian Dr Tessa Dunlop, this could finally open the doorway to healing between the two estranged brothers.

She told the Mirror: “This is the Princess of Wales’s hour, her pain, her health. But the messages from many of Kate and William’s family are a reminder of cancer’s long reach. The King’s deep love and pride shone through in his message for his ‘beloved’ daughter-in-law.

“Kate’s brother, James’s reminder of past mountains they have climbed was another lump-in-the-throat moment. And then of course there was Harry and Meghan, who wrote: ‘We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace’.

“Immediately the internet naysayer jumped on this message with accusations of hypocrisy and anger, wishing they would ‘just shut up’.

“The inference was the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had no right to express sympathy given previous criticism Harry and Meghan have lobbed in the Princes and Princess of Wales’s direction.”

She continued: “This is a predictably unforgiving, naïve approach to family relations. Sibling arguments and tensions are as old as life itself, but when the chips are down – when cancer comes knocking – that is when we remember what really matters.

“Harry is no different from the rest of us in that respect.”

Tessa added that the duke will be feeling “desperately sorry” for both his brother and sister-in-law.

She explained: “The Duke of Sussex is a man in tune with his emotions, a man who grew up from the age of 12 without a mother.

“He knows this isn’t about him, it’s about Kate and the gravity of her condition. He will feel desperately sorry and worried for his brother and sister-in-law, and yes, probably regretful too.

“Right now Harry (and to an extent Meghan) will be wrestling with all sorts of conflicting emotions: guilt, love, even loneliness, miles from their British family.

“The Duke will need space to come to terms with what is a massive shift in priorities on the other side of the Atlantic, in a family that he ultimately loves, but has been estranged from.

“This is a time for healing. Apparently, there has been private contact between the brothers and sisters-in-law which is a good sign.

“Ultimately they need each other. Our Royal Family is stronger together.”
