Julian McMahon, who was in Charmed and Nip/Tuck, died aged 56 last week, following a private battle with cancer – and now the father’s family have posted online about him

Julian McMahon’s cause of death has been revealed after the actor’s sudden death at age 54. The actor’s grieving family revealed he had died following a “private battle” with cancer.

The much-loved actor is said to have died from lung metastasis as a result of head and neck metastatic cancer, according to a report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner which has been obtained by PEOPLE. His death was ruled as natural.

The actor, who was in Home and Away, Charmed and Nip/Tuck, died last week following a private battle with cancer. The star leaves behind wife Kelly Paniagua and daughter Madison McMahon, who he shares with ex-partner Brooke Burns, as well as his siblings, Melinda and Debbie.

Earlier this week, a post was shared on Julian’s Instagram page, thanking the actor’s fans for their love in the past few days. Speaking last Friday, Julian’s widow Kelly told how he had been fighting cancer. His last public appearance was back in March when he and Nicolas Cage promoted their new psychological thriller The Surfer. It was Julian’s final film role filmed and released before the father of one’s death.

In her statement on Julian’s death, his widow Kelly, whom he married in 2014, wrote: “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”

“We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories,” Kelly added in her statement.

Julian died in Clearwater, Florida, and, having lived in the US since the 1990s, had become a citizen of the country. However, he said his soul was always in Australia – where he was born in 1968 – and expressed his joy for “Australianisms”.

Speaking in an interview in 2021, the former Nip/Tuck actor said: “I feel like I’m Australian on the inside and American on the outside or something. I would never want to leave it behind either.

Music legend Bob Dylan has announced a strict phone-free policy for his upcoming UK and Ireland tour dates, requiring fans to lock their devices in Yondr pouches during shows

Bob Dylan is set to return to the UK and Ireland later this year as part of his Rough and Rowdy Ways world tour – but fans hoping to capture the moment on their phones will be out of luck. The 84-year-old icon has confirmed a 13-show run, with performances scheduled in Dublin, Glasgow, Swansea, Brighton, Leeds, Coventry, and more.

The tour follows a successful string of shows last year, including a three-night stint at the Royal Albert Hall. In line with his recent performances, Dylan will enforce a phone-free policy at every venue. Attendees must seal their devices inside Yondr pouches, which automatically lock upon entry and can only be opened in designated areas outside the main performance space.

Dylan’s team confirmed: “We’ve been proud to keep these shows phone-free to preserve the intimacy and connection of the live experience.”

He’s not the only artist advocating for more present audiences. Nick Cave and Chrissie Hynde have both criticised the modern reliance on filming during gigs, calling for fans to engage directly with the music. Jack White and Alicia Keys have taken similar steps to restrict smartphone use at their concerts.

The issue has become a wider cultural conversation, especially after Oasis’ much-hyped return. Following their reunion announcement, fans flooded social media with old concert clips.

According to UK site Compare and Recycle, an estimated 17.3 million minutes of Oasis’ upcoming 33-gig tour will likely be recorded which is the equivalent of 33 continuous years of footage.

Dylan’s latest tour announcement arrives at a time of renewed interest in his storied career. A Complete Unknown, a biopic released last year starring Timothée Chalamet as Dylan, explores his early years and the seismic moment in the mid-1960s when he famously “went electric.”

In recent shows across Texas, Dylan has performed a mix of classics and deep cuts, including Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright, I Can Tell, and Under the Red Sky.

A towering figure in music history, Dylan has won 10 Grammy Awards, received 38 nominations, and landed nine UK number one albums. Though his 1962 debut single Mixed-Up Confusion didn’t chart, he quickly found success with anthems like The Times They Are A-Changin’, Subterranean Homesick Blues, and Like A Rolling Stone.

In 2016, Dylan made history again as the first songwriter to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. The Swedish Academy praised him for “creating new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”

Tickets for the UK and Ireland dates will go on sale Friday, July 18 at 10am.

Katherine Ryan shares sign of behind-the-scenes chaos in her ‘awful’ Mel B wedding outfit

Mel B married her partner Rory McPhee over the weekend and guests at the star-studded wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral included Katherine Ryan and her husband Bobby Kootstra

Wedding guest Katherine Ryan has criticised her own appearance after watching Mel B and her fiancé Rory McPhee get married over the weekend. She has poked fun at how she looked after creating part of her outfit herself at home.

Mel, 50, tied the knot with hairstylist Rory, 37, at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Saturday. Katherine, 42, and her husband Bobby Kootstra, also 42, were among the guests, with them spotted outside the venue at the star-studded event.

Katherine has since reflected on the experience on her podcast Telling Everybody Everything. She shared on the latest episode, released yesterday, that she was “so touched” to be invited, particularly as a Spice Girls fan.

She however told listeners: “I looked like s*** at Mel B’s wedding, everybody knows it!” Katherine went on to discuss her outfit, including revealing that she had to get creative when it came to the headpiece that she wore.

Katherine, who previously announced that she’s pregnant, said that she didn’t know how “big” she would be so had decided to get a “flowy” dress. Describing her chosen blue dress, she said: “It almost looks like bed linen. It’s very dreamy.”

The comedian, who said that she finds it “so difficult” to get ready at home with her three children around, said: “I don’t have the thinnest arms for it. I’m too pale for it.” She told listeners: “It was awful – no offence to the designer!”

She also said: “I put my hair down, which was absolutely the wrong way to do it.” Katherine then shared that she had previously shaved the back of her neck because of her “low” hairline, adding: “I can’t put my hair up right now because I’ve chosen to grow this like neck out and it ruined the look.”

The wedding guest continued by saying that the dress code for the ceremony included hats and fascinators for women. Adhering to the invitation, she recalled ordered a “beautiful” fascinator ahead of the special occasion last week.

Katherine however said that because she “panicked last minute” it wasn’t the right shade of blue to match her dress. She told fans that she had to craft a flower into a headline instead, saying: “I ended up chopping an orchid from my kitchen and sticking that in my head.”

Addressing her look, she said: “It was giving ugly step-sister. Like I truly s*** the bed on the look.” Further sharing her thoughts, Katherine teased that she now feels like she “ruined the aesthetic” of the wedding.

Katherine said that her husband Bobby, who opted for a cream suit, “didn’t like his look” either. She said on the latest episode of her podcast: “I don’t think we’ve ever looked worse … on like the most important day of someone’s life.”

Whilst talking about the wedding, Katherine shared her surprise over the guestlist. She said: “Everyone there was like a close personal friend, or family member, or Northern. Y’know someone she really knew. […] It had a real grassroots like true friendship and family vibe. It was a lovely, lovely wedding.”

Jeff Lynne shared a sad health update with fans in Manchester just hours before ELO’s concert was called off. ELO fans were booted out of Manchester’s Co-op Live arena after the gig was cancelled just minutes before the band were due to start.

Thousands of ticketholders were left disappointed when they were informed that the performance would not be going ahead tonight. A fan who was at Wednesday night’s gig exclusively told The Mirror: “At the start of the set he came on and couldn’t play the guitar because he has injured his hand. He sounded shaky to begin with but his singing and energy picked up and was great until the last 10 minutes of the show.

“A chair was brought onto the stage and he had to sit down to sing the last few songs, he appeared to be unsteady on his feet at the end and was helped off the stage by staff. He really wasn’t well, it was obvious to fans at the gig he wasn’t himself and it is sad to see.”

It really hurt at the time. That’s why I haven’t got a guitar – I normally would have,” he explained.

Ticketholders for the Over and Out tour claimed they were informed the performance would not be going ahead just minutes before the band was due to take to the stage.

Concerns were raised over how people could be refunded for their expenses, after also booking travel and accommodation. One social media post claimed a couple had spent over £1,000 to travel from Ireland for the show.

Coleen Nolan ‘nervous’ about returning to work after death of beloved sister Linda

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan, who attended her sister’s funeral over the weekend, revealed her fear of returning to work after a difficult time

Coleen Nolan returned to social media to share a personal update on her life and career following the death of her beloved sister, Linda Nolan.

The Loose Women presenter and singer joined her family members as Linda was laid to rest on Saturday in a moving send-off that was also attended by many of Linda’s celebrity friends. Linda, who was a columnist for The Mirror, passed away on January 15 following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Massive crowds gathered for the funeral as Linda’s pink, sparkly coffin was carried into church by Coleen’s son’s Shane and Jake. Coleen and her sisters – who formed The Nolans pop group in the 70s – all wore pink breast cancer broaches and earrings for the moving service.

Ahead of her return to work, Coleen took to social media to share a clip of herself thanking fans for their support. The clip started with a chair placed in an empty room. Coleen soon entered the frame to sit on the chair. She said: “Ready? We on? Hi there everyone. I just want to say, as many of you already know, it has been a really hard weekend saying goodbye to my sister Linda as you all know. But I’m back here now in London, going to be on Loose Women tomorrow.”

I cannot tell you how much it meant to us to feel the love from you all. People we’ve never met, strangers to us, who sent out heartfelt messages and cards, flowers…

“Just a little big virtual hug to each and everyone of you and to say thank you. I’m quite nervous about doing Loose because I’m really scared I won’t be able to hold it together but I hope you forgive me if I can’t but I need to get back out there and Linda would be the first to say ‘get back out there’ because you have to.

She ended the honest post: “Thank you for all your support throughout all the years but especially at this very very sad time for me and my family.” Friends and fans rushed to the comment section to share their words of support, with Myleene Klass writing: “love you Col,” with a few heart emojis and Judi Love posted: “We love you @coleen_nolan.”

“The Loose Women will pull you through.. Linda would be so proud of you getting on with life . Big hugs Coleen ..One day at a time,” one proud fan said to the star.

The recent accident comes after Ruth’s mother, Joan, also suffered a fall, fracturing her pelvis in December

Ruth Langsford has spoken out about the health of her dog, Maggie, following a recent accident. The Loose Women star, 64, said it all started when her pooch jumped off the sofa while visiting family, injuring the back of her leg.

Despite the small drop, Maggie was so hurt that she ‘couldn’t walk at all’, with Ruth having the carry her straight to St George’s, her local vet in Weybridge, Surrey. Thankfully, nothing was broken, but the Collie-cross was kept on ‘bed rest’ and pain killers throughout last week with no walks allowed.

Although Maggie’s ‘still limping’ even now, Ruth assured that she’s making progress everyday, and took to Instagram to share the news. “So, last Monday Maggie jumped off the sofa when we were visiting my Mum and hurt her back leg … she couldn’t walk at all.” Ruth penned.

“I took her (carried her!) straight to our amazing vet @stgeorgesveterinarycentre who checked her over and reassured me nothing was broken thank goodness. Maggie’s been on pain relief and ‘bed rest’ all week but today I could see she wanted to venture out….so this is her first little walk outside the garden!”

Ruth posted a quick video of Maggie hobbling through the grass and sniffing the ground outside. She added: “She’s still limping a little bit but getting better every day. More sniffing than walking but she’s getting there! Love my old girl so much.”

Unsurprisingly, Ruth’s update was soon flooded with countless comments from users keen to express their well-wishes. Among them was Strictly Come Dancing pro Karen Hauer who wrote: “Bless her, my Betty did the same a couple of months ago and she bounced back quite quickly with lots of rest and cuddles.”

Meanwhile, another user added: “Aww Maggie feel better soon,” as someone else wrote: “Aww bless her. Speedy recovery Maggie. Sad when they get old. My Milo is 13 this year. They still spoilt rotten though.”

Maggie’s health ordeal comes less than two months after Ruth’s mother, Joan, also suffered a fall, fracturing her pelvis. While the family were grateful that Joan required no surgery, she was encouraged to take some time to heal in hospital.

Posting to Instagram in December, Ruth explained: “No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas ….she’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis! She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now.

“She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon. This time last year she fell and broke her hip but recovered well.” It was after Christmas on January 4 that Joan finally came home, with Maggie especially pleased to see her again.

In a separate update, Ruth wrote: “Mum is finally out of hospital! Thank you to all the nursing staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and Woking Community Hospital for taking such good care of her.”

Coleen Nolan sobs on Loose Women return days after sister Linda’s funeral

Coleen Nolan broke down in tears during Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women as she opened up about the loss of her sister Linda just days after her funeral took place

Coleen Nolan broke down in tears when discussing her sister Linda’s funeral, as she made her return to the Loose Women panel.

When asked by Christine Lampard how the family were doing after Linda’s funeral, which took place on Saturday, Coleen said they were “doing great.” Although, she said they have absolute meltdown moments, “which come out the blue.”

Thanking the public for their support, and messages Coleen held back the tears as she spoke on how hard the loss of her sister was. She then opened up about the difficult decision to go back to work.

“It’s just hard,” she said, holding back the tears. “Is it too soon? But you just have to, life goes on. Linda’s had this for 20 years,” Coleen explained. “The one thing she would want to say is, that she wouldn’t want anybody that’s still going through this horrendous disease to give up.”

Speaking on Linda’s impact in the family, she continued: “She was just such a massive force in our family, and it feels like such a hole.”

Despite the difficult decision to go back to the Loose panel, Coleen said she was “glad to be back”.

Linda’s funeral service was held at St Paul’s Church on Saturday February 1 It was a place that held a special place in Linda’s heart as it was the same place where she exchanged vows with her “soulmate” husband, the late Brian Hudson. The pair tied the knot in the summer of 1981.

The funeral was a celeb-filled service, with the likes of Shane Ritchie, Paul Chuckle and Jodie Prenger in attendance at the service.

Charlotte Dawson spoke to PA ahead of the funeral service to pay tribute to Linda. She said: “She touched so many hearts and she’s just fabulous. ‘I’m in full glam for you Linda’, because she’d love me in full glam. The sun is shining for her and she’s just such an amazing person. She just lit up every room she walked into.”

The pregnant reality star went on: “We just used to have so many different memories, travelling all around the country, having a laugh and just getting up to mischief. That was our favourite thing to do.”

Throughout the emotional ceremony, a number of Linda’s favourite songs as well as her own tunes were played.

Linda, who had planned her funeral years before her death, proved that her wicked sense of humour lives on through her final song at her committal. She chose Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone by Frank Sinatra – who The Nolans once supported on tour.

The decision left mourners in fits of giggles as they heard the lyrics: “Please don’t talk about me when I’m gone. Oh, honey though our friendship ceases, from now on. And, listen, if you can’t say anything real nice, it’s better not to talk at all, is my advice.”

Loose Women star forced to apologise after swearing live on air

Craig Doyle was left red-faced after he accidentally swore while hosting a special edition of ITV’s Loose Women, which featured an all-male panel

A Loose Women star was forced to apologise to TV viewers after accidentally swearing live on-air. A special edition of the hit programme aired on Wednesday, 5 February, fronted by Craig Doyle.

For the Loose Men episode, he was joined by Danny Jones, Pete Wicks, and Jordan Banjo. The spin-off show airs throughout the year with an all-male panel highlighting the importance of male mental health struggles.

As each panellist discussed their body shape, Craig exclaimed: “There’s one thing we Irish are blessed with, being catholic and a huge a**e!”

    Craig Doyle
Craig apologised after making a huge blunder

“I am blessed with both!” Craig jokingly added before realising his huge blunder. “Huge bottom, sorry! Beep!”

Elsewhere in Wednesday’s instalment of Loose Men, the panel discussed romantic relationships, commitment, alcohol, tattoos and more.

The panel got candid about their own struggles during certain discussions, with TOWIE favourite Pete opening up about being single and shunning commitment in romantic relationships.

“I’m the only one on the panel that’s not married with kids. I am probably well known for being a bit of a commitment-phobe, and I’ve never hidden that fact,” the reality TV star – who is rumoured to be dating Love Island’s Maura Higgins – admitted before delving into the possible reasons behind his hesitation to commit to somebody.

He continued: “I think there are loads of different reasons why. I do think men are often described as being commitment-phobes and not as much women, but I do think that is rubbish. I’ve got to say I do think women are, I would say, just as bad, but I don’t necessarily see it as a bad thing either.

“I think everyone assumes that you have to commit, you have to do this [and] to do this because society tells us you have to be married and you have to have kids – and you have to do all this sort of stuff by a certain age.”

Loose Men is available to stream on ITVX now. Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1.

Loose Men returned for another special episode on Wednesday in which Jordan Banjo candidly shared his battle with booze.

Since 2020, ITV’s Loose Women had relinquished the panel to welcome a group of lads to take over the hot topics of the day and share their personal stories for a special episode. While the one-off special was originally aired to coincide with International Men’s Day, the all-male line-up has resurfaced sporadically with a wide range of male guest hosts and panelists.

On Wednesday, 32-year-old dancer and choreographer Jordan, joined the Loose Men desk alongside TV host Craig Doyle, pop singer Danny Jones and former TOWIE star Pete Wicks. The boys covered a range of topics and at one point discussed whether or not they had ever been told they drink too much.

During this segment of the show, Jordan candidly revealed he had endured a secret battle with alcohol – admitting he hid his drinking from his wife. He explained that he turned to drink during the pandemic – and was shocked by how easily it took hold of his life. The TV judge said: “When we went into lockdown, I started drinking and it became a daily thing. Once it becomes a habit, it’s a hard thing to break.
