Former glamour model Katie Price has headed on yet another trip abroad as she appeared to hit out at her own changing looks in a sultry post before heading to the beach

Katie Price has referenced her changing looks as she topped up her tan on another day at the beach. The former glamour model, 47, has jetted abroad again following her recent sunny trips to Ibiza and Dubai.

After treating herself to a Brazilian Bum Lift, she partied away at Wayne Lineker’s Ocean Beach Club in Ibiza, where she was seen hanging out with the host and fellow guest Conor McGregor. The parties continued as she then headed to Dubai, where she shared a very cheeky ‘threesome’ bedroom snap.

Katie made a short return to the UK, however she is now back on her summer holidays as she revealed she was flying out again for a “shoot”. Her trip comes after she splashed out £10,000 on a brand new facelift – having undergone several procedures previously.

The mum-of-five has appeared to make a dig at her own changing appearance as she revealed her dark tan and plumped lips. Katie posed for a selfie in a strappy beach cover up and tried to keep cool in a large floppy hat.

She teased: “See if you can spot me on the beach.” Just yesterday, Katie shared another sultry snap as she looked more youthful than ever on her getaway.

Katie showed off her taut visage emphasised by her sharp eyebrows and plumped lips while pouting for the camera. The star tied her black locks back while going for a full glam look for her night out.

“After 7 hours of travelling and melting on the beach what a night,” she told her fans. Katie has long been open about the work she has had done and even shared gruesome photos of her recovery on Snapchat, revealing her face and cheeks taped up.

She posted: “From my last surgery, there are just a few little bits that I want tweaking. Well, they need tweaking. So here I am getting ready. That’s the worst bit for me, the needle. The needle’s done so now I can relax.”

Katie recently admitted she has been sworn off having surgery in the UK following a botched operation. She confessed her BBL was her worst operation to date and was her most regretted.

“I tried that BBL abroad where they take your own fat and put it in your bum,” she said on Katherine Ryan’s What’s My Age Again? podcast. “It was so painful. And it just did not look right on me.”

Katie added: “I would never have surgery in England again. Ever, ever. I’d always have it abroad.” While on her latest trip, Katie reached out to her eldest daughter Princess after she was banned from her 18th birthday party.

She shared a quote calling Princess “the most beautiful girl ever” as she tagged her as well. The message read: “Name a girl that can wear no makeup, no fake lashes and still be the most beautiful girl ever.”

Amid rumours as to why she didn’t celebrate with Princess, Katie furiously hit out that she was banned from attending. Princess is embarking on her own showbiz career and has landed herself a TV series that is being made by her dad Peter Andre’s management company.

Katie quipped: “Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. If certain people would let her be seen with me.”

The mum-of-five continued: “Everyone knows she’s doing this documentary – and I’m not in it. Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.”

Kerry Katona has revealed that she reached out to her ex-husband Brian McFadden’s new wife, Danielle Parkinson, on the day of their wedding with a message for the couple.

Almost two decades after splitting from Brian McFadden, Kerry Katona has revealed that she reached out to the Westlife singer’s new wife, Danielle Parkinson, on their wedding day earlier this month. Kerry, who shares daughters Molly and Lilly-Sue with Brian, said in her weekly New! Magazine column that she had sent Danielle a text on the morning of her wedding – days after it was reported the exes would ‘never be friends’.

“My ex, Brian McFadden, got married earlier this month and I just want to wish him and his wife Danielle a lifetime of happiness,” began Kerry in the column. Following reports that the singer had ‘burned all bridges’ with Brian, she hit back by continuing: “I find it sad though that as he gets married, everyone writes stories about me.

“His wedding has nothing to do with me at all. I texted Danielle to wish them a happy day– it looked like a beautiful celebration and I hope they had a ball,” finished Kerry.

While Kerry’s two eldest daughters were at the nuptials, she didn’t divulge on whether they enjoyed the day or not. Alongside Molly and Lilly, Kerry is a mum to Heidi and Max – whose dad is taxi driver Mark Croft – and daughter DJ, who Kerry welcomed with her late third husband George Kay.

Kerry’s olive branch to Brian and Danielle comes after a tumultuous relationship between the exes, with Kerry previously slamming Brian for being a ‘s**t dad’ to their daughters.

“He was a s**t dad. I’m the one who provides for them.,” she said on a podcast in 2023. Public comments like these have reportedly made their co-parenting relationship strained, a source claimed last week.

A source told The Sun : “Kerry has burnt her bridges with Brian, thanks to years of speaking out of turn. She’s got a heart of gold but a big mouth and that has always been her downfall.

“Kerry has a bad habit of not thinking before she speaks and it’s landed her in hot water with Brian on many occasions. She’ll say something publicly that is either outrageous or something she should have kept private between them and it gets her in trouble.”

However, Kerry said just days before the reports that she would ‘love’ to be friends with him “I wish Brian and I could have stayed friends. Molly went to watch him at a festival last week and I would have loved to have gone with her. It would be great to have a better relationship,” she wrote in her column last week.

Brian rarely speaks about Kerry and went to great lengths not to mention her last year’s BBC documentary, Boybands Forever. In a toe-curling exchange, the interviewer asks him on camera: “Marrying Kerry, you’re sort of…” as Brian quickly interjects: “I don’t want to talk about her, no. Definitely no.”

Loose Women legend Coleen Nolan has opened up about the sad reason she “doesn’t feel sexy” when she is at home in the UK.

Coleen Nolan has admitted that she doesn’t feel “sexy” unless she is on holiday. The Loose Women favourite, 60, candidly spoke of her discomfort during the rising temperatures, and insisted that she couldn’t stand the thought getting intimate with anyone after she had been looking after livestock on her farm amid the intense heat.

During a discussion with fellow panellists Jane Moore and Judi Love and anchor Christine Lampard about feeling attractive in the heat on Monday’s episode of the ITV chat show Coleen confessed: “On holiday, yeah but not here.”

She added: “This weekend, for instance, it was so hot and I stank of horses. I was sweating from places I didn’t even know existed and then I thought if I had have a partner, he would have not a chance in hell because I’m too hot!”

When former I’m A Celebrity star Jane pointed out out that, according to a psychologist, sunshine was what was needed to boost libido, Coleen quipped: “And a really good fan…”

The innuendo prompted fits of laughter from the studio audience, before she clarified her joke by waving her hand in front of her face.

Coleen, who split from Michael Jones in December 2024 – three years after they matched on Tinder – then claimed that she needed to “get a boyfriend” in order to fully understand the benefits that the effects the sunshine had to offer her.

The I’m In The Mood For Dancing songstress, who recently enjoyed a holiday abroad and documented the trip for her Instagram followers, admitted that she and Michael “would rather just stay friends,”, so they went their separate ways.

After the split, Coleen said: “It’s nothing to do with anyone else, it’s nobody’s fault. But I’m really busy and when I’m not really busy with work I’m busy on the farm and I feel personally that I can’t give time to everything. We still get along great and hopefully we can continue to be friends, who knows?

While she’s still officially single, Coleen said she’d “probably date again”, but was waiting for the right time – and the right person to come along.

“The men I meet are either married or gay, so I’ve no hope in the industry I’m in,” she exclusively told OK!. “And I don’t go out to bars, unless they’re serving me a cup of tea.”

With limited time for dating, Coleen didn’t rule out signing up to a dating app to find her perfect match.

“Apparently, there’s one that’s aimed at country folk, called Muddy Matches, so that’ll be the one I try when I’m up for it,” she said.

“But whoever I date, I’m not sure I want their toothbrush in my bathroom. I’ve been in relationships my whole life and I’m enjoying having my house to myself, not worrying about anyone else.”

Coleen, who was once married to EastEnders actor Shane Richie, followed by musician Ray Fensome, said she doesn’t’ necessarily miss “sex”, but the odd bit physical affection would be welcome.

BBC breaks silence on Gregg Wallace report as they slam ‘abuse of power’

The BBC has issued a statement following the release of Banijay UK’s report into Gregg Wallace’s conduct on MasterChef, stating that there is “no place for abuse of power”

The BBC has broken its silence following the release of Banijay’s report into Gregg Wallace’s behaviour on the set of MasterChef. The 60-year-old TV presenter was sacked from the BBC show last week after 50 more people came forward to make allegations of misconduct, which he strongly denies.

Now, Banijay – which produces MasterChef – has released a report into Gregg’s behaviour on the show, conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin. The company’s investigation substantiated 45 of the allegations made against the presenter, the majority of which related to inappropriate sexual language and humour. Meanwhile, a small number of allegations relating to Gregg being in a state of undress and one claim of unwanted physical contact were also substantiated.

    Gregg Wallace
The BBC has stated that there is “no place for the abuse of power, unacceptable behaviour or language at the BBC, or shows made for the BBC”.(Image: BBC)

The BBC said in a statement that it has informed the TV presenter that the broadcaster has “no plans to work with him in the future” and welcomes the publication of the investigation’s findings.

“The investigation details a substantial number of allegations of inappropriate conduct spanning 19 years. This behaviour falls below the values of the BBC and the expectations we have for anyone who works with or for us,” the BBC said.

“Although the full extent of these issues were not known at the relevant time, opportunities were missed to address this behaviour – both by the production companies running MasterChef and the BBC. We accept more could and should have been done sooner.

“We want to thank all those who took part in the investigation, including those who first raised concerns directly with the BBC in November last year. We apologise to everyone who has been impacted by Mr Wallace’s behaviour.”

The BBC added: “Lewis Silkin’s findings include two further allegations which were upheld, relating to other individuals. The BBC takes these findings very seriously and we have asked Banijay UK to take action to address these issues, which is underway. This will be completed as a priority.

“The BBC will not be commenting further at this stage, but we are clear we expect the highest standards of respect at work to be upheld on the production.”

The company went on to state that a final decision had not yet been reached over whether to broadcast the upcoming series of MasterChef featuring Gregg Wallace.

“At this stage we are not going to make a final decision on the broadcast of the series that was filmed last year,” the BBC said. “We know this is disappointing for fans of the show and those who took part and at the appropriate time Banijay UK will consult further with the amateur contestants.

“In April the BBC published a detailed response to an independent review of workplace culture, which reinforces expectations around behaviour and that we will act more decisively when standards are not met. This also requires all TV production partners to align with the Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority (CIISA) standards.

“We want to reaffirm, there is no place for the abuse of power, unacceptable behaviour or language at the BBC, or shows made for the BBC.”

Last week, Gregg Wallace addressed the upcoming report in an Instagram post, stating that he “will not go quietly” after being axed from MasterChef.

He stated: “I have now been cleared by the Silkins report of the most serious and sensational accusations made against me. The most damaging claims (including allegations from public figures, which have not been upheld) were found to be baseless after a full and forensic six-month investigation.”

Gregg went on to accuse the BBC of “peddling sensationalised gossip masquerading as properly corroborated stories”. He said: “To be clear, the Silkin’s Report exonerates me of all the serious allegations which made headlines last year and finds me primarily guilty of inappropriate language between 2005 and 2018.

“I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise without reservation. But I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks.”

  • John Torode confirms he’s subject of racism allegation in wake of Gregg Wallace report

John Torode confirms he’s subject of racism allegation in wake of Gregg Wallace report

MasterChef star John Torode has confirmed he is the person alleged to have used racist language, after an investigation into the behaviour of his co-star Gregg Wallace

MasterChef host John Torode has confirmed he is the subject of an allegation of using racist language, which came out during a review into former co-host Gregg Wallace’s conduct.

The inquiry by law firm Lewis Silkin for production company Banijay revealed that 45 out of 83 accusations against Wallace were corroborated, including two separate claims implicating others, with one involving racist remarks.

It’s reported that the BBC and production company Banijay asked Torode to resign and cite mental issues as the reason last week – which he reportedly refused to do. The Mirror has contacted the BBC and representative for Torode for comment on this claim.

On Instagram, Torode disclosed he is the accused individual but professed “no recollection of the incident” and expressed being “shocked and saddened”.

His Instagram statement read: “Following publication of the Executive Summary of the investigation into Gregg Wallace while working on MasterChef, I am aware of speculation that I am one of the two other individuals against whom an allegation has been upheld. For the sake of transparency, I confirm that I am the individual who is alleged to have used racial language on one occasion.

John released a statement on his Instagram page

“The allegation is that I did so sometime in 2018 or 2019, in a social situation, and that the person I was speaking with did not believe that it was intended in a malicious way and that I apologised immediately afterwards.

“I have absolutely no recollection of any of this, and I do not believe that it happened. However, I want to be clear that I’ve always had the view that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. I’m shocked and saddened by the allegation as I would never wish to cause anyone any offence.”

The comments were turned off in the statement he released on Instagram on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, former MasterChef host Wallace previously said he “wouldn’t go quietly” after he was sacked from the BBC show by its production company Banijay.

Today Wallace responded to the publication of the MasterChef review, saying that he “challenged” the groping claim against him that was upheld, but lost.

The presenter insisted that “none of the serious allegations against me were upheld” even though the review found him guilty of the “unwanted touching” plus three counts of being in “a state of undress”.

And holding the BBC responsible for not doing enough to help him to change, he warned that there would be more problems down the line. “In the end, the BBC left me exposed to trial by media and the damage it leaves in its wake. To those who’ve shown kindness, thank you. It mattered.”

    Gregg Wallace and John Torode
It comes after Gregg Wallace was sacked from MasterChef
    Image:

The report, conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin, divided the complaints into seven categories. Of the 45 upheld, 12 were for inappropriate comments (jokes and innuendo), 16 were sexually explicit comments, three were for being in a state of undress, two were for sexualised comments made to or about someone, four were over being culturally insensitive or racist, seven were over bullying and one was for unwanted physical contact.

Yesterday the BBC said it welcomed the findings from Lewis Silkin and confirmed that Gregg had been informed “we have no plans to work with him in future”.

Downing Street said it is “right that a thorough investigation has been conducted” into allegations made against Wallace. The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said today: “It’s right that a thorough investigation has been conducted. We welcome the fact that the BBC severed ties with Gregg Wallace. We’re clear that appropriate steps must be taken to ensure abuses of power are prevented from happening in the future.”

Asked whether a series of MasterChef featuring Wallace that has not yet been broadcast should be aired, the spokesman said: “It’s a decision for the BBC, but clearly the BBC must take action to ensure that the public retains its trust in the handling of these matters. So we obviously welcome a decision to sever the ties with Gregg Wallace.”

In a statement to the PA news agency, Wallace said: “For eight months, my family and I have lived under a cloud. Trial by media, fuelled by rumour and clickbait. None of the serious allegations against me were upheld. I challenged the remaining issue of unwanted touching but have had to accept a difference in perception, and I am deeply sorry for any distress caused. It was never intended.

“I’m relieved that the Banijay report fully recognises that my behaviour changed profoundly in 2018. Some of my humour and language missed the mark. I never set out to harm or humiliate. I always tried to bring warmth and support to MasterChef, on screen and off.

“After nearly 20 years on the show, I now see that certain patterns, shaped by traits I’ve only recently begun to understand, may have been misread. I also accept that more could have been done, by others and by myself, to address concerns earlier.

“A late autism diagnosis has helped me understand how I communicate and how I’m perceived. I’m still learning. Banijay have given me great support, and I thank them. But in the end, the BBC left me exposed to trial by media and the damage it leaves in its wake.

“To those who’ve shown kindness, thank you. It mattered. This has been brutal. For a working-class man with a direct manner, modern broadcasting has become a dangerous place. I was the headline this time. But I won’t be the last.

“There will be more casualties if the BBC continues down this path, where protecting its legacy matters more than protecting people. For my part, with full legal support, I will consider my next move.”

Blackpool Tower turned pink on Wednesday night in tribute to late singer Linda Nolan.

The entertainment world was saddened on Wednesday when it was revealed the singer had passed away at the age of 65 following a long battle against cancer. Linda passed away with her famous sisters at her side and reports revealed that her final hours were said to have been full of “love and comfort”.

While the chart singer was born in Dublin, Ireland, she found fame along with her sisters when they formed their band, The Nolans, in Blackpool in 1974. Linda went on to settle in the English city – and it was here that she passed away.

On Wednesday night, the Northern city paid tribute to the singer by turning the iconic Blackpool Tower pink in her honour. The 518ft structure was illuminated after sun down – with a pink heart added near the base.

Visit Blackpool highlighted the touching tribute, sharing a photo of the tower lit up via social media. An accompanying statement read: “Our thoughts are with the family, friends and fans of showbiz legend, Linda Nolan, who sadly passed away earlier today.

“This evening, The Blackpool Tower will be illuminated in pink as mark of respect. Rest in peace Linda, you will always be a shining star.”

The gesture was received warmly by fans who rushed to comment on the post – with one writing: “What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful lady! Linda was an inspiration to many! Back in the arms of her husband and Bernie xx love to all her family.”

Another fan typed: “Well done Blackpool Thinking of Linda’s family, friends and fans of Linda Nolan at this distressing time.” And a further social media user wrote: “Sorry to read of Linda’s passing. R.I.P. Linda .My condolences to rest of family and friends.”

In a statement released to the Mirror on Wednesday, agent Dermot McNamara, said: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record holding West End star, Sunday Times bestselling author and Daily Mirror columnist.

“She passed at around 10:20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the MCEW Ward. The family said the hospital couldn’t do enough, they were tireless.”

The statement continued: “She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.”Tributes quickly emerged for the singer on social media, with her sister, Loose Women star Coleen Nolan, reposting her agent’s statement with a heartbroken emoji. On the ITV show today, the panel paid an emotional tribute to Coleen’s loss with host Christine Lampard saying: “Some very sad news for you now. Linda Nolan, Coleen’s sister, who was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2017 has died at the age of 65.”

Dark side to The Nolans’ success as sisters were pushed to stardom by ‘brutal’ father

Tommy Nolan was instrumental to the success of his daughters’ singing group but behind closed doors, he was a ‘monster’ who caused lifelong harm to his children

The late Linda Nolan was part of the UK’s first ‘millionaire girl band’, which rode high with hits like I’m in the Mood for Dancing.

The singer, who died on Wednesday at the age of 65 following a long journey with secondary breast cancer, and her sisters achieved global fame in The Nolans. But behind the girl group’s rise to the top lay painful secrets, none more so than the horror that came at the hands of their father Tommy Nolan.

For Tommy had sexually abused his older daughter Anne, a fact she only revealed in 2008, ten years after he died. Growing up, the sisters’ father had regularly beaten up their mother, his wife Maureen, as well as turning his hand to his children. He had also been instrumental in their rise to fame.

    Tommy with his daughters
Conflicted Linda said her father could be “fabulous” when he wasn’t drinking(Image: SSPL via Getty Images)

Maureen and Tommy, who first met at a gig in Dublin’s Clery’s Ballroom, were originally a duo before they moved to Blackpool and became keen to turn their young family into a musical troupe. As Bernie Nolan, who died from breast cancer in 2013, joked: “By the time Coleen and I came along, the question Mum and Dad would ask was not ‘Will it be a boy or a girl?’ but whether the baby could sing.”

Spotted performing in a hotel in the North West seaside town by a London exec, The Nolans never looked back. Chart hits included Gotta Pull Myself Together, Don’t Make Waves and Attention To Me, with their own BBC TV specials too.

But in her autobiography Anne’s Song, the oldest sibling opened up about her father’s sickening abuse. “At 11-years-old I trusted him,” she wrote. “Maybe this was something dads did with their daughters. My overwhelming reaction was one of puzzlement. I remember thinking to myself: ‘Why is Dad doing this?’.”

“My father may have invaded my body, but he also invaded my mind,” said Anne. “I’m now in my late 50s, and yet, to this day, no recollection of my childhood can ever be carefree. It has a contaminating effect that seeps into every corner of your mind, every facet of your life. It doesn’t go away, and the slate can never be wiped clean.”

Coleen hugging Linda on the set of Loose Women
Coleen said Tommy had “shortest fuse in the world” if alcohol had been consumed(Image: Ken McKay/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Coleen, meanwhile, told of being beaten from a young age, saying her father could be a “monster” at times. “If he’d been sinking the pints he had the shortest fuse in the world and could become aggressive or violent in the blink of an eye,” the Loose Women star said on the show in 2009.

In her own memoir, Coleen recalled a brutal attack on her big sister Anne. “He was brutal, hitting her repeatedly in the face, spitting: ‘You will cry’,” she said. “But she jus sat there saying: ‘I won’t’, while he continued to hit her in the mouth.’

“He was a bully and a drunk,” added the star, the youngest of eight siblings. “I knew he’d made mum’s life hell and sexually abused Anne. His behaviour repulsed me… But I also loved him.”

For Linda, finding out about Tommy’s treatment of Anne left her similarly conflicted. “Part of me cried, I’m ashamed to say, because he didn’t do it to me and I didn’t think he loved me enough,” she said. “He was a Jekyll and Hyde, but when he wasn’t drinking he was fabulous and he stopped drinking for many years before he died.”

Tommy died of liver cancer in 1998, aged 78.

Maura Higgins was left squirming as she was grilled over her romance with Pete Wicks

A red-faced Maura Higgins issued a six-word response as she was grilled about Pete Wicks romance rumours.

The former Love Island star, 34, appeared on Friday’s episode of Loose Women, where chat got onto her love life and the current series of Love Island: All Stars.

Asked whether she would go on All Stars herself, Maura squealed “no” before adding in a six-word response: “My dating show days are done!”

However, the Loose Women panellists were quick to ask what she meant by the comment to which Maura explained: “I don’t want to go on a dating show, I’ve turned down All Stars before and I turned down the Celebs Go Dating. I’ve done it once [Love Island] and I spent the whole time in Love Island single!”

Panellist Katie Piper then grilled: “So is that you saying you’re not single?” to which a red-faced squirming Maura responded: “No, did I say that? I know what you’re doing! No, I never said anything, next question!”

Not holding back, fellow panellist Frankie Bridge then directly asked: “Is there anything going on with Pete?” to which the studio applauded and gushed that they make a lovely couple, reports Liverpool Echo.

Maura responded: “Do we? I never really thought about it. He’s got better hair than me to be fair! There’s not really much to tell, I know that’s very boring, we’ve known each other for what, six years?

“We spend time together, we get on very well, our personalities are very very similar and he’s a great person but there’s actually nothing to tell. There’s really not though, no one believes me, there’s not!”

Talking about being pictured with Pete, sparking even more romance rumours, Maura insisted that it’s just because they’re both in the public eye and some of their friends, also in attendance, weren’t pictured as they’re not in the public eye.

Speculation first grew about their rumoured relationship when Pete and Maura were seen smooching during a dinner in Soho in August last year.

Maura then spent weeks in Australia for I’m A Celebrity where she slyly discussed her relationship without mentioning his name.

Then Pete’s best pal Sam Thompson cheekily “welcomed Maura to the family” when she appeared on I’m A Celebrity spin-off, Unpacked.

After she returned to the UK, they quickly reunited and were recently pictured looking loved-up right before Christmas.

The 60-year-old returned to the Loose Women panel today for Friday’s show alongside the likes of Kaye Adams, Katie Piper and Frankie Bridge.

Speaking about bathrooms on the ITV panel show, Nadia admitted that she likes to look through people’s bathroom cupboards. “Me and Kaye, because we have these weird similarities, we both love a root around somebody else’s cupboard,” she admitted. “I love having a look. You open thinks like verruca care, wart care.”

Meanwhile, a surprised Katie Piper said: “Are you serious? That’s so bad.” Frankie added: “What are you looking for?”

Nadia continued: “I’m looking that if I’ve made a diagnosis about a certain condition, I can see that the medication is in there and I know I was right. I love it!”

Despite Frankie branding Nadia’s nosy habit as “bizarre”, Nadia didn’t stop there. “Sometimes I steal people’s plasters because I never think to buy plasters!,” she admitted, laughing.

Kaye quickly jumped in to distance herself from Nadia’s claims, saying: “I don’t touch anything but I do have a snoop.”

Later on in the show, Kaye and the rest of the presenters welcomed I’m A Celebrity and Love Island star Maura Higgins onto the panel – and wasted no time in asking her about her romance with Pete Wicks. When asked whether she would go on Love Island: All Stars, Maura said: “No – my dating show days are done!

“I don’t want to go on a dating show, I’ve turned down All Stars before and I turned down the Celebs Go Dating. I’ve done it once [Love Island] and I spent the whole time in Love Island single!”

Katie then asked: “So is that you saying you’re not single?,” to which an embarrassed Maura said: “No, did I say that? I know what you’re doing! No, I never said anything, next question!”

Frankie then followed up with the question: “Is there anything going on with Pete?” After the studio applauded, Maura said: “Do we? I never really thought about it. He’s got better hair than me to be fair! There’s not really much to tell, I know that’s very boring, we’ve known each other for what, six years?

“We spend time together, we get on very well, our personalities are very very similar and he’s a great person but there’s actually nothing to tell. There’s really not though, no one believes me, there’s not!”

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Mirror columnist and pop icon Linda Nolan died at the age of 65 on Wednesday, with her heartbroken sister Denise now sharing how she kept her loved ones laughing until the very end

Singer and actress Linda Nolan was laughing and joking right up until the end, her sister Denise reveals today. The Mirror columnist and pop icon, who died on Wednesday aged 65, had been rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties last weekend, eight years after being told she had secondary breast cancer in her hip.

Doctors diagnosed double pneumonia and put her on oxygen, advising her to rest quietly and let it work. But Denise, 72, reveals Linda instead lived up to her “Naughty Nolan” nickname, saying that rather than do what she had been told, the star spent her final waking hours doing what she loved best – entertaining those around her. Recounting the last few hours in the life of her “beautiful, brave, hard-working and talented sister”, Denise says: “She’d been laughing and joking, although the medical team had told her she had to stay quiet to let her treatment do its job. Everyone was being quietly optimistic as she’d seemed so cheerful. Then at 3.30am on Tuesday, we got the dreaded call, ‘Get to the hospital asap’.”

Linda had been told two years ago that the cancer had spread to her brain. Yet just two days before being taken to hospital last Saturday, she had said in her weekly Mirror column how she was feeling better after a Christmas “bout of flu”.

With her trademark positivity, Linda wrote: “I feel so grateful to be feeling well again. It feels like a whole new world out there. There’s nothing like the sensation of starting to feel better after an illness. I wake up every morning and I think, ‘This is another day to celebrate’.”

But within 48 hours she began having trouble with her breathing. Denise – who had been caring for Linda at her home in Blackpool – summoned help. She says now: “I can still see her struggling to breathe, and the lovely nurse who got the doctor out. He took one look and rang an ambulance.

“I went with her and spent hours at the hospital as she was poked and prodded. It was something she’d got used to over the years. She was a model patient, apologising for any inconvenience to myself and the lovely hospital staff. Eventually, she was settled. And I left… not knowing that would be the last time I would see her conscious.”

While Denise returned home to care for husband Tom Anderson, 77, who suffers from Parkinson’s, other family members and friends stepped in. As they kept Linda company at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, they reported back on how lively she had been. Denise had been set to visit again on Tuesday but, on Monday night, Linda began to deteriorate as her weakened immune system fought the pneumonia.

She slipped into unconsciousness in the early hours and doctors made the decision to start end-of-life care. Linda’s siblings – brothers Tommy, 75, and Brian, 69, and sisters Anne, 74, Denise, Maureen, 70, and Coleen, 59 – were called urgently to her bedside. Yet, as with the cancer that had circled her for 20 years, Linda defied expectations. Denise says: “Friends and family sat by her bed, holding her hand, for 36 hours. She wouldn’t give up.”

After 14 hours keeping vigil over Linda, Denise had to leave to give her husband his medication. Before she could return on the Wednesday morning, she got the call to say Linda had passed away. The other sisters had all been at her side. It is a phone call that will stay with Denise for ever.

She says: “At around 10.20am we got the worst news – our beautiful, brave, hard-working, talented sister was gone. We’re numb. My husband Tom can’t speak about her without crying. We’ll love and miss her for ever.” Still reeling from the news, along with the rest of the family, it will be a long time before Denise is ready to talk fully.

But she felt it was important for Linda’s fans to know of her bravery and positivity in her final few days. That is why she wrote a statement which she gave to the Sunday Mirror to use. The siblings lost their sister Bernie to secondary breast cancer in 2013, at the age of just 52. In the wake of that loss, Denise and Linda had spent the last few years in each other’s pockets.

Denise went with Linda to hospital appointments, and earned the nickname “Deliveroo Denise” for taking her meals on the rare times when bad news left her hiding away in her bedroom. In return, it was Linda who gave Denise and Tom the nudge to get down the aisle after 47 years together. Losing her has left an unimaginable hole in her life – and her home. Denise tells us in her statement: “We’ve been here before, with our beloved Bernie.

“But this has been harder because Linda lived with us. I’m looking round the room – everywhere there are reminders. Her tablets on the table… even her bath towel which I’ve just washed and she will never use again. Each time the alarm for Tom’s daily medicine goes off, I smile sadly. She would always shout ‘medication time’ – I can almost hear her saying it! She loved hospital documentaries, so whenever I came in, she’d be on the couch engrossed. I could never understand how she could enjoy them.”

But no image is more striking than the delivery Denise received as she wrote. She says: “Her hospital case, which I packed, has just been brought back. With no Linda.” Linda had found fame alongside her five sisters as The Nolans, later carving out a name in the West End and on TV.

Her death was covered around the world, from NME Japan to People magazine in the US, and as far afield as Mexico and Australia. Moving from Dublin to Blackpool as children, the sisters had worked up through the clubs to become 70s and 80s pop icons. They sold more than 30 million records, with catchy hits like Spirit, Body and Soul, Attention to Me and 1979’s disco classic I’m in the Mood for Dancing.

They toured with Frank Sinatra, sang for US President Gerald Ford, Princess Margaret and the Queen Mum, and had No1s in Japan, South Africa and Hong Kong. In Japan, they outsold Michael Jackson and The Beatles combined.

But Linda also faced adversity. Her husband Brian died of liver failure in 2007 aged 60. She once struggled with suicidal thoughts. And in 2005, was diagnosed with breast cancer. By 2011 she was cancer-free. But it returned in 2017, with secondary cancer in her hip, then her liver, and finally in her brain. She raised more than £20million for breast cancer and mental health charities, as well as Samaritans. Her sister Anne, who had breast cancer twice, 20 years apart, joined her for chemo.

Now cancer-free, Anne wrote in a tribute online: “The most generous, loving, beautiful, annoying at times, helpful, brave, forthright, person. You found humour in life’s darkest corners.” Youngest sister Coleen, a Loose Women panellist, added: “Her wit, humour and laughter was infectious. Linda had a heart full of compassion.”

Maureen wrote: “I am heartbroken, as we all are.” On Wednesday night, Blackpool Tower was lit up pink in honour of the town’s “shining star”. Dermot McNamara, Linda’s manager and long-time friend, said: “A pop icon and a beacon of hope. She faced incurable cancer with courage, grace and determination, inspiring millions. She will never be forgotten.”
