Yesterday (July 15), the BBC confirmed in a statement that John, 59, had been sacked after he was accused of making a racist remark at a work party seven years ago.

“John Torode denies the allegation. He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment,” the corporation shared.

It continued: “The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind. And, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed

“With John Torode stepping away from MasterChef, there’s plenty of talk about who could fill his shoes on one of Britain’s best-loved cooking shows,” spokesperson for Betideas, Shane Orton, revealed.

Best known for his warm, down-to-earth style, Tom Kerridge is an early frontrunner at 2/1. However, right behind him is Great British Menu star Andi Oliver at 4/1.

She ties with TV chef favourite James Martin, who currently hosts his own morning cooking show, James Martin’s Saturday Morning, on ITV.

Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain is also a popular choice (6/1), meanwhile John’s wife, Lisa Faulkner, is also on the list (9/1).

Jeremy and Lisa are proud dog parents to two Fox Red Labradors named Sansa and Arya, after the characters in Game of Thrones.

On Wednesday (July 16) Lisa took to the official Diddly Squat Farm Shop Instagram page and revealed Ayra was pregnant with puppies.

In the clip, she told her beloved pup: “I would say, yep, look at that teet. Oh my god, you’re heavy and you’re hot compared to your sister in the stomach.”

She added: “I think we might have puppies on the way!”

‘Just the news I needed to wake up with’

Fans soon rushed to the comments section to congratulate the couple on the happy news.

One person said: “Congratulations guys, I bet they will be beautiful puppies.” Someone else added: “Amazing news. Just the news I needed to wake up with. Congratulations Diddly and Clarkson.”

A third also wrote: “Congratulations on your pregnancy! Arya will be a beautiful mumma.” Another then chimed in: “How lovely! Can’t wait to see the little ones.”

The three youngest Beckham siblings have proved they remain as tight knit as ever, despite eldest Brooklyn turning his back on them. Romeo Beckham has shared some unseen photos with sister Harper to showcase their bond just as the feud with their older brother escalates.

The family has been rocked by a very public fallout that has now spilled into a social media war. David and Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz have chosen to distance themselves from the clan over the last year with things heating up when the young couple failed to attend football icon David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May.

Brooklyn then did not send any message of support when David received his long awaited knighthood or a tribute on Father’s Day. Instead, he has been loyal to his wife and shared gushing posts about Nicola as well as her family.

The biggest blow is said to have been when Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, returned to the UK for a photoshoot near to the family home in London but failed to let his family know. Last week, the feud deepened as Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, let their true feelings be known.

Now, the two brothers have taken their stance even further as they spent time with their little sister Harper. Romeo wrapped his arm around his youngest sibling as Harper embraced the former footballer.

The siblings then beamed in another snap as they were joined by brother Cruz and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30, as well as cousin Finlay. They all struck a pose for the family photo as Harper seemed delighted to be spending time with her brothers.

Just last week, reports claimed Romeo and Cruz unfollowed Brooklyn on social media, which insiders branded the “Gen Z version of World War Three”.

“Even when the family have reached out to Brooklyn they have been ignored,” a source told the Sun. “He’s not had contact for months and it feels clear to them that he doesn’t want to make amends.”

However, it didn’t last long as a friend claimed: “There is too much water under the bridge.” A source also warned at how devastating it would be if Brooklyn had ignored Harper’s birthday as they told MailOnline: “Brooklyn and Harper used to be inseparable.

“He adored her, he hopefully still does, but the problem is that Brooklyn has a track record for ignoring family birthdays now. It would be devastating for Harper not to hear from him. She hasn’t done anything and she’s only 13-years-old.”

Nicola had previously been vocal about her love for sister-in-law Harper as they pair would regularly hang out with each other. She once told PEOPLE that Harper “is my dream little sister.”

A message for Brooklyn Beckham was shared by his wife Nicola Peltz this week as they continue to publicly support each other amid rumours of a rift with his family. She paid tribute to her husband once again in a recent post.

Nicola, 30, took to Instagram this afternoon to share photos of herself and Brooklyn, 26, on a yacht. It comes after they joined some of her family on holiday in France earlier this month, with them spotted out in Saint-Tropez.

The photos uploaded by Nicola today show the couple, who celebrated their third wedding anniversary earlier this year, hugging as they stood on the boat. She tagged Brooklyn in one and wrote in that post: “My everything”. Brooklyn has since shared her posts on his own Instagram Story.

It comes after they had spent time with her family on the trip abroad. A video previously shared by Nicola showed them raising champagne flutes in a toast alongside her brothers Will Peltz, 39, and Zach Peltz, 22, and other guests.

Brooklyn is said to have grown “so close” to his in-laws and it’s been claimed that, at the moment, he “doesn’t really feel like he fits into” his own family. The suggestion comes amid speculation of a rift between him and his parents, David Beckham, 50, and Victoria Beckham, 51, in recent months.

It was reported earlier this month that Brooklyn was expected to miss his youngest sibling Harper Beckham’s 14th birthday last Thursday amid the rumoured rift. A source told the Mirror at the time: “He took a stand and missed his dad’s 50th so he’s not likely to suddenly do a U-turn and forget everything that’s happened, as much as he loves Harper.”

They continued: “He didn’t want it to turn out this way and he’s always been really close to all his siblings, but he is a married man now and his priorities have to lie somewhere else.” The source added: “He just doesn’t feel his family have treated Nicola well and now that he’s grown so close to her family in the States, he doesn’t really feel like he fits into the Beckham family right now.”

Amid speculation about their relationship with his family, Brooklyn and Nicola have continued to publicly support each other. It’s included them celebrating the anniversary of him having proposed to her in 2020 last month.

Although met with support, they also received negative responses at the time. Following the reaction on social media, a source suggested to the Mirror that Brooklyn and Nicola were stronger than ever, describing them as “solid”.

The source said: “Brooklyn and Nicola are solid, and the idea that a heartfelt anniversary post warrants this level of scrutiny is frankly a bit ridiculous. It’s disheartening to see so much energy spent trying to tear down a young couple simply enjoying their lives together. They want no part in the public’s narrative.”

A Coronation Street icon is set to be killed off, according to reports. After 11 years on the Weatherfield cobbles, time is said to be up on Daniel Brocklebank’s Billy Mayhew.

And in true Corrie fashion, it’s said bosses are planning an explosive exit for the long-running star. The actor behind the man of the cloth was told earlier in the year that his character was to be written out of proceedings on the ITV soap.

It has now been claimed the archdeacon will be killed off in one of the biggest storylines of the festive period. According to sources, bosses don’t have any plans for Daniel’s character to return.

Billy has been a character on Corrie for 11 years

“There aren’t any plans to bring him back onto the soap so it makes sense make his exit the most impactful and explosive it can be,” a source told the Sun.

“It’s likely Billy will be a focus point of the Christmas/New Year storylines, with fans expected to be at the edge of their seats in the run-up.”

With little else known on his exit, fans will eagerly await any big storyline. Daniel, meanwhile previously admitted he was “sad” to be leaving the soap. He recently said: “I have been working on ‘Corrie’ for a quarter of my life.

“I have adored every minute I have been in that building and have never not looked forward to going into work. I love everyone who works on this show and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds.”

The actor’s partner, Jordan Coulthard later admitted the decision to leave the Corrie cobbles wasn’t one that was led by Daniel. He also branded his axing as a “huge mistake” by bosses.

According to MailOnline, he wrote on his Instagram Story: “Nothing to say. Not his decision. Huge mistake. I can’t believe we are having this conversation. No words can express how heartbroken I am for him.”

Producer Kate Brooks previously paid tribute to Daniel and his work on the show in a gushing tribute to the star. She said: “Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit.

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has reportedly ‘renewed talks’ with a radio station away from the corporation amid a bullying row that has plagued the morning programme. Last month, it was revealed show boss Richard Frediani was on extended leave on the flagship show after complaints about his behaviour.

Host Munchetty was also said to not get on with him. However, many staff members came out in defence of the editor. One even told the Mirror that some staff were disappointed with Munchetty who it’s claimed raised concerns about Frediani’s management style with BBC managers.

And now, a source has claimed that the presenter ‘loves the BBC’ but is looking for a new job.

Speaking to The Sun, they said: “Her team last week renewed talks with LBC. The Global Radio station would suit her as there’s far less of the fluffy nonsense that’s involved in working at the BBC.” The Mirror have reached out to Munchetty’s reps for comment.

Meanwhile, the BBC’s annual salary was recently published and Munchetty was revealed to be earning almost double her co-host Charlie Stayt’s pay

Stayt, aged 63, has stayed within the £190,000 salary band, whereas Munchetty, aged 50, has enjoyed a £10,000 increase to her earnings, moving from £345,000 to £355,000.

Munchetty, who has presented on the flagship news programme since 2014, has always been paid more than Stayt. Her pay packet accounts for 180 days of presenting on BBC Breakfast, as well as her Radio 5 Live programme and election coverage.

The BBC pay comes amid a bullying row concerning the BBC Breakfast editor. Some current and former staff of the programme jumped to his defence.

One source told the Mirror: “He is not a bully at all and the truth will come out. He’s a great boss and was – and is still – overwhelmingly loved by the team, who respect his drive, expertise, and journalistic ambition. He has delivered great audiences and the first ever Bafta for breakfast TV.

“He can be brash and opinionated but works so hard for his team and allows people to flourish.”

A second source said: “Yes, he is old-school and can rub people up the wrong way but it’s always in the pursuit of great television. It’s the best-rating breakfast show in the country – it’s not supposed to be a walk in the park. Some – Naga included – need to understand this. It feels like it’s a case of presenter power turfing out a brilliant journalist.”

John Torode has been sacked from MasterChef in another bombshell blow for the show. Just days after Gregg Wallace, 60, was axed from the BBC series following an investigation into his behaviour, John, 59, has also been stood down after a historic accusation of racism.

In bombshell news, John, who has hosted MasterChef for nearly 20 years, confirmed yesterday he was the person alleged to have used racist language after an investigation into his former co-star. However, John said he had no memory of making the comment and denies it ever happened.

Following the furore, he has now been sacked from the long-running show, with the BBC confirming today: “John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. This allegation, which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace, was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegation.

“He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.

Shortly after the BBC’s announcement, John took to social media to claim he had not been personally informed of his sacking. In a statement shared on Instagram, he wrote: “Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I’ve been “sacked” from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I’m accused of. The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong.

“I’d hoped that I’d have some say in my exit from a show I’ve worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that. Over the past few months, I have been considering my life and the shape of it now and in the future.
Celebrity MasterChef, which I recently filmed with Grace Dent along with two fantastic Christmas specials will be my last. Personally, I have loved every minute working on MasterChef, but it’s time to pass the cutlery to someone else. For whoever takes over, love it as I have.

“I will watch fondly from afar as I now focus on the many other exciting projects that I have been working towards. My tummy will be grateful for a rest after 20 years of eating, but what a joy it has been. Life is everchanging and ever moving & sometimes personal happiness and fulfilment lay elsewhere. Gregg, who has also presented MasterChef since it started in 2005, has also been sacked from the show after an inquiry for production company, Banijay, revealed that 45 out of 83 accusations against the father of three were corroborated. The report also brought to light two separate claims implicating others, with one involving racist remarks.

The production company, Banijay, said that it had taken the matter “incredibly seriously”.

“The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegations relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against John Torode which occurred in 2018, “ they stated.

“This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef.”

It had been reported that the BBC and production company Banijay asked John to resign following the report’s findings and cite mental issues as the reason last week – which he reportedly refused to do. The Mirror contacted the BBC and representatives for Torode for comment on this claim.

On Instagram, the chef, who is married to actress, Lisa Faulkner, disclosed he is the accused individual regarding the alleged racist remark, but professed “no recollection of the incident” and expressed being “shocked and saddened”.

His Instagram statement read: “Following publication of the Executive Summary of the investigation into Gregg Wallace while working on MasterChef, I am aware of speculation that I am one of the two other individuals against whom an allegation has been upheld. For the sake of transparency, I confirm that I am the individual who is alleged to have used racial language on one occasion.

“The allegation is that I did so sometime in 2018 or 2019, in a social situation, and that the person I was speaking with did not believe that it was intended in a malicious way and that I apologised immediately afterwards.”

“I’m sure you’ll have seen the summary that had all the allegations against Greg Wallace. It also had two allegations upheld on two individuals. I think people appreciate that I cannot now talk about individuals as we go through the process and Banijay lead the process to take appropriate action on what they found through those upheld complaints.”

“What I would say is there has to be follow up. So the BBC, in some ways, were quite simple on this, which is, if someone has found to not live to the values we expect the independent company Banijay in this case, to take action and report back to us on what they have done.”

Joan, 94, sustained the painful injury in a fall, causing Ruth great concern and leading her to keep fans updated on her progress via social media.

However, there’s been a major health breakthrough for the Loose Women star’s mum, as Ruth announced that she was finally discharged and able to return home. Sharing the positive news with her Instagram followers, Ruth posted a video showing her mum back at home, enjoying quality time with her dog, Maggie.

Set to Everly Fair’s cover of I Love You Always Forever, Ruth captioned: “SHE’S HOME! ! ! Mum is finally out of hospital! Thank you to all the nursing staff at St.Peter’s Hospital and Woking Community Hospital for taking such good care of her. As you can see, Maggie is VERY happy to have her home!”

Last month, news broke that Joan had suffered a fall while preparing for Christmas festivities. Ruth shared a video of her elderly mum dancing in the kitchen while peeling vegetables and wrote: “No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas….She’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis! She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now. She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon.”

This marked the second time in two years that Joan had fallen and broken something during the festive season, having previously broken her hip in 2023.

Linda Robson touched the hearts of Loose Women viewers with a poignant revelation about her past, sharing that she lost what would have been her “little girl”.

During Wednesday’s episode, the actress joined Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, and newly honoured MBE recipient Myleene Klass in the studio. The panel was celebrating Myleene’s recent MBE for her advocacy on women’s health issues, particularly her work with regards to miscarriage support.

Myleene, the former Hear’Say star, pledged live on the show that her MBE recognition marked “only the beginning” of her efforts to shatter silence around the issue. As the panel commended her bravery and dedication, Linda courageously opened up about her own sorrow, receiving on-air support from her colleagues.

The Birds of A Feather icon recounted her experience with a sense of unease: “I had two pregnancies with no problems and then when I got pregnant for the third time and something didn’t feel right, right from the very beginning.”

Although Linda had previously mentioned her loss on the show, it was only with Myleene beside her that she felt able to delve deeper into her personal ordeal, reports the Liverpool Echo.

She continued, recalling the moment she sought medical attention: “I rang and asked if I could come in and have an MRI.. a scan to see if everything was ok and they said ‘yeah come in’.”

In a heart-wrenching revelation, the TV star recounted how panic set in when, during a scan with her young son Louis in tow, the sonographer abruptly left to call a doctor. “Then she went to me, ‘I’m just going to go and call somebody, I’m just going to go and call a doctor’ and straight away I knew something was wrong,” revealed the TV star.

She heartbreakingly revealed: “Anyway they came back and said the baby had died inside of me, they sent me home with a dead baby inside of me and then I had to go back the next day and then they gave me suction to remove….”

Linda shared further sorrowful details: “They said it would have been a little girl but she had an extra chromosome and so she wouldn’t have survived anyway.”

The ITV show regular, alongside her then-partner Mark, grappled with unanswered questions about what they may have done wrongly, pondering if it might’ve been sex or lifting heavy objects that jeopardized their pregnancy, as fellow panellist Myleene Klass offered empathetic support.

“It just wasn’t meant to be and it was very very sad,” Linda somberly added.
