Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly Just Bought a £500,000 Farm — But They’re Not Moving In… They’re Moving Animals In.

Everyone thought Ant & Dec were retreating to the countryside. But instead, they turned the land into a rescue sanctuary for disabled farm animals, giving pigs with prosthetic legs and blind goats a second chance. And when they livestreamed the first animal rescue… 2.3 million people tuned in to watch something no one expected….

    The Sanctuary of Second Chances

In the rolling hills of Northumberland, where the air carried the scent of heather and history, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly—Ant & Dec—were beloved beyond their TV fame. At 49, the Geordie duo had won hearts with their humor and authenticity, but their roots in Newcastle’s working-class ethos kept them grounded. In early 2025, rumors swirled on X that Ant and Dec had bought a sprawling 50-acre plot in the countryside, assumed to be a lavish retreat or investment. Fans speculated about luxury cabins or a private getaway. But the truth was far humbler and more extraordinary: they’d turned the land into “Geordie Hooves,” the UK’s first rescue sanctuary for disabled farm animals, giving pigs with prosthetic legs, blind goats, and lame sheep a second chance. And when they livestreamed the sanctuary’s first rescue, 2.3 million people tuned in to witness something no one saw coming.

I'm A Celebrity: Ant and Dec 'happy' to return to Wales - BBC News

The idea was born during a rare day off, when Ant and Dec visited a local farm to film a segment for Saturday Night Takeaway. There, they met a three-legged pig named Mabel, saved from slaughter but struggling to move, and a blind goat called Rosie, who navigated by sound but had no proper home. The farmer, stretched thin, admitted many disabled animals were euthanized, as sanctuaries lacked space or funds. The story hit Ant and Dec like a gut punch. They remembered childhood summers mucking about on relatives’ farms, where every animal had a name and a purpose. “These creatures deserve a shot,” Ant said. Dec nodded. “Let’s make it happen.”

They quietly purchased the Northumberland land for £1.8 million, transforming it into a sanctuary with accessible barns, soft pastures, and specialized equipment. They funded prosthetic legs for pigs like Mabel, built sensory trails for blind animals like Rosie, and installed heated sheds for lame sheep. Working with vets and animal welfare experts, they hired a small team, including a former farmer, Ellie, who’d lost her own livestock to debt but had a gift for rehabilitation. Through their foundation, “Ant & Dec’s Community Fund,” they committed £500,000 to start-up costs, ensuring every animal had medical care, food, and love. They kept the project under wraps, wanting the focus on the animals, not their fame.

The sanctuary’s first rescue was set for May 2025, and Ant and Dec decided to livestream it on their foundation’s new YouTube channel, hoping to raise awareness. They expected a modest audience—maybe a few thousand fans. But when the stream went live, 2.3 million people tuned in, glued to a sight no one anticipated: Ant and Dec, in muddy wellies, gently coaxing a one-eyed cow named Daisy from a cramped shed on a struggling farm. Daisy, malnourished and skittish, had been deemed “useless” after losing her eye to infection. As Ant knelt beside her, whispering, “You’re safe now, lass,” and Dec guided her onto a padded trailer, the chat exploded with heart emojis. The unexpected moment came when Daisy, sensing safety, nuzzled Dec’s shoulder, and he choked up, saying, “This one’s for every animal who’s been written off.” Viewers wept, flooding X with #GeordieHooves, calling it “the purest thing on the internet.”

The livestream raised £200,000 in donations in hours, but the real shock was the global reach—viewers from Australia to Canada shared clips of Daisy’s rescue. “Ant & Dec in wellies saving a cow? I’m done,” one X user posted. Another wrote, “They gave a blind goat a home? Heroes.” Reporters, expecting a celebrity vanity project, were stunned by the sanctuary’s scale and the duo’s hands-on role. At a Britain’s Got Talent press event, Ant shrugged off the hype. “It’s about the animals,” he said, scratching mud off his sleeve. Dec added, “Daisy’s braver than us. We’re just her taxi service.”

    Anthony McPartlin - IMDb

By autumn 2025, Geordie Hooves housed 40 animals—pigs waddling on prosthetics, goats navigating with bells, and sheep resting in warm barns. Ellie reported Mabel now led the pig herd, while Rosie trailed her with a jingle. The sanctuary became a community hub, with local schools visiting to learn about compassion. Volunteers, inspired by the livestream, mucked stalls and built ramps. Ant and Dec’s foundation pledged ongoing funding, raising £300,000 more in public donations. They visited often, helping with feedings and joking with Ellie, always deferring to the animals’ stories. A thank-you letter from a schoolchild read, “You saved Daisy, and you made me want to help animals too.” They kept it in their office, next to a photo of Daisy’s first day in the pasture.

The ripple effect grew. Sanctuaries across the UK adopted Geordie Hooves’ model, focusing on disabled animals. Farmers, moved by the livestream, donated equipment, and a vet school offered free check-ups. The sanctuary’s YouTube channel, now regular, drew millions for each rescue, with kids worldwide naming new arrivals. At their next Saturday Night Takeaway taping, Ant and Dec wore pins with a tiny hoofprint and “G” for Geordie Hooves. The audience roared, knowing the story. Somewhere in Northumberland, a one-eyed cow grazed under open skies, proof that two lads from Newcastle could turn a muddy field into a haven for second chances.

Freddy Brazier spotted in public for first time since revealing he is going to rehab

Jeff Brazier’s son Freddy revealed recently that he has been addicted to ‘smoking’ from the age of 12 and will be seeking treatment to ‘get clean’ and is hoping to mend his family relationships

Freddy Brazier has been spotted in public for the first time since revealing that he would be going to rehab.

Jeff’s youngest son with late Jade Goody, 20, appeared to be in a positive mood as he appeared at the VIP launch of Jurassic World: The Experience at Neon, Battersea Power Station, on Saturday.

It comes after Freddy revealed on Friday that he has been addicted to “smoking” from the age of 12 and will be seeking treatment to ‘get clean.’

Regardless of his addiction struggle and family issues, Freddy seemed to be very upbeat as he arrived in a chequered £2,000 Louis Vuitton monogram denim jacket and khaki linen drawstring trousers.

Posing in front of a realistic raptor statue as he held a can of Sprite, Freddy was among a variety of other famous faces including Made in Chelsea’s Louise Thompson, Fearne Cotton and ex-PM Boris Johnson.

Countdown star Rachel Riley was also spotted with her Strictly husband Pasha Kovalev as they dug inside a fossil pit.

The night out follows a difficult time for Freddy as his relationship with dad Jeff is said to have strained to the point he left the family home and moved in with his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden.

Last week, Freddy wrote on his Instagram page that he’s decided to take action in a bid to feel happy again and mend his relationships. He said: “I’ve decided that I will be cutting down and I want to go to Rehab In Marbs as I feel if I’m in England I won’t take getting clean seriously.

“I’ve been smoking from the age of 12 and it’s time to stop. It was a bad coping mechanism that turned into an addiction, something I relied on and something that made me feel sane and some what OK

“I’ve found a boxing club and a rehabilitation centre. Ive found someone I want to get to know and I’m happy. I got a good bunch of friends and I [want to] get out and enjoy myself.

Freddy's relationship with dad Jeff has grown strained

“I want to be clean so I can live happily and have healthy relationships with people and be there for all of my family rather then feeling like I’m in the middle and have to choose a side.”

He continued: “I haven’t been able to feel loved properly as I have never loved myself and it starts now. I want to play football and take up boxing I want to be happy and be in a healthy relationship and have a healthy relationship with my Nana and my father

“Every day is a new story about me and my Nana and father. It’s getting boring now. Mind your business and have a good rest of the week x,” he finished.

Concern has grown for Freddy after it emerged he had left his dad’s family home to spend more time with his maternal grandmother Jackiey.

Freddy and Jeff had been known for their sweet bond, which was shown to viewers on BBC series Race Across the World last year. But it seems relations between the two have soured with Freddy getting closer to his late mum Jade’s mother.

The move is said to have devastated dad Jeff, who was reported to be taking legal action to stop the two hanging out.

Defying his dad’s orders, Freddy has been posting pictures with his gran, but worried fans with one post this week as he listed ‘all the things he hates’ about himself.

Freddy wrote that he hates his “relationship with weed”, “step parents” and said “I don’t know how to love because I’ve never felt loved” and said he had “family issues”.

“Ah man this is gonna be sad to watch,” one TikTok user wrote underneath Freddie’s post. “Go home son, this is not what mum wanted for you sweetheart,” another suggested as a third wrote: “Sending you love Fred! Watched you in Race Across the World & you’re such a decent lad with so much potential.”

It looks like Freddy has a strained relationship with his big brother too, skipping Bobby’s 22nd birthday festivities on Monday. According to The Sun, the party felt an air of “sadness” after Freddy’s absence, where Bobby is said to have spent time with Jeff and stepmum Kate instead.

Freddy was just four years old when his mother Jade died of cervical cancer in 2009. In the wake of Jade’s death, Jeff threw himself into raising Freddy and Bobby and doing all he could to give his boys a stable childhood after suffering such a trauma.

Nick looked suave in a light pink tuxedo jacket which he paired with black trousers and a matching black bow tie. He finished his look with a purple flower in his lapel.

In 2019, Nick was seen getting close to 26-year-old PR executive Emily Hallinan as they enjoyed a date with each other to a West End show. The year previous saw the TV star in a relationship with marketing executive Rebecca Kearns who is also reportedly over 30 years younger than him.

  • This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard halt show as it’s hit by awkward technical blunder

This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard halt show as it’s hit by awkward technical blunder

Nobody could get through to Phil Vickery on the allotment…

This Morning had to be temporarily halted by hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley today as it was hit by technical difficulties.

The ITV daytime show brings the latest showbiz news and headlines everyday. But sometimes live TV can go wrong. And that’s exactly what happened today (June 2).

Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were on the This Morning sofa today. But when they tried to go live to chef Phil Vickery, things went a bit awry.

    This Morning technical difficulties

The hosts were trying to go live to Phil as he cooked a “delicious dish” for his family. But when they began speaking to him, it was clear he couldn’t hear a thing.

Ben asked: “Phillip, can you hear us? Can he hear us?” But Phil kept stirring his sauce, before Ben added: “Oh dear.”

Cat Deeley didn’t think it was actually an issue and thought he was trying to be funny. She said: “I think he’s ignoring us! Shall I try? Phillip! Phillip!”

While Cat kept trying to get his attention, Ben was trying to think of solutions.

He asked: “Has anyone got a phone? Someone phone him. Can the cameraman hear us? So nobody can hear us at the moment. We should watch them and see what they get us to. Can we get a message to any of them down there? What shall we do? Any ideas?”

Realising they have to fill the time, Ben and Cat began discussing what to do next.

Cat suggested they could “dance” to fill the time, but Ben thought they should “watch” and see what Phil gets up to.

Ben and Cat temporarily halt normal show

Then the camera went to soap expert Sharon Marshall, who held her phone to the camera, showing she was trying to phone Phil.

Ben added: “So, Sharon Marshall is currently calling Phil to see if she can get through. We’ll see if she can get anyone.”

This Morning then had to halt the normal show and move to a competition segment with Jeff Brazier instead.

Ben told viewers: “While Sharon’s doing that we’re going to give a little bit of a competition. We’re giving away a camper van and £10,000. Here’s Jeff Brazier to tell you.”

Thankfully the show was only halted temporarily, and by the time the competition had finished, Phil was back on.

Cat joked she would put her “mum voice” on, and asked: “Phillip can you hear us?” to which he responded: “Is that my mother?” leaving Ben and Cat glad the line was working again.

An actor was arrested on the set of Disney’s Rivals in front of cast and crew just an hour after filming with Danny Dyer, it has been reported. Police are said to have arrived on set to arrest Nigel Adams who was working as an extra on the hit show.

The incident allegedly took place in front of shocked cast members and while Adams was still in costume due to filming scenes just moment beforehand. The 45-year-old was filming a polo scene alongside acting legend Danny Dyer for the second series of the programme.

However, it was reportedly just an hour later that police cars turned up and Adams was driven away before spending two nights in police custody. He then appeared in court on Friday as he was accused of assaulting an ex-girlfriend.

The Sun reported that a source said: “It was very dramatic. Everyone was in their costumes and Danny was filming this polo scene when an hour later police suddenly turned up to arrest one of the extras. It was shocking.”

The assault is reported to have happened at a house in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. Police were allegedly called to the address at 2am on May 31 of this year.

Adams was said to be questioned about the assault once he was arrested. Avon and Someset police are thought to have been tipped off that the bricklayer-turned-actor was working on the Rivals set at the time.

A friend said that he will be “gutted” as the arrest could mark the end of his acting career. They said: “He’ll be gutted because it could end his TV career, something he really loves doing.

“He’s a bricklayer by trade but he’s been doing more and more TV work, he’s been in loads of stuff. Whenever he’s in the background of a show he gets all his family and friends to watch it.”

Adams has quite a few acting roles under his belt already which include House of the Dragon, The Forsyte Saga and 2022 movie Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher. Adams appeared at Bristol magistrates’ court on Friday charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

No plea was made by him and he was given conditional bail until he returns to the city’s crown court on July 7. Production company Happy Prince, which makes the drama Rivals, told The Sun: “On the 4th June, the police visited the set regarding an unrelated matter involving a supporting artist.

“Production co-operated with the police. We do not have any further information as it is not connected to Rivals or to our production.”

The Mirror have contacted Happy Prince, Disney and Avon and Someset police for comment.

Stacey Dooley has been criticised by some fans after it was announced that Lily Phillips will be starring in the new season of her TV show.

The presenter’s show Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, which sees her spend 72 hours in the company of a wide range of characters and families, is returning for a sixth season. It will air on U and U&W later this year, with 23-year-old OnlyFans star Lily – known for having sex with 100 men in a day – starring in the first episode.

As part of the series, Stacey will meet Lily in her London home to learn more about her career and what the content creator does. As news of the new season was announced this week, Stacey, 38, said: “I’m thrilled to be back for another series of Sleeps Over!

    OnlyFans star Lily Phillips

Truly, it’s such a loved format and people always remind me of their fave moments when I’m out and about. We’ve got another 3 episodes that you’re gonna love! The themes we touch on feel incredibly timely. As always, a sincere thank you to those families who agree to open their doors. Strap in!”

U&W director of programming Adam Collings added: “Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over has become a U&W audience favourite, no doubt due to the array of families and their stories, but of course Stacey being at the heart and gaining unprecedented access to their homes. Her warmth and compassion allow for a safe judgement-free environment, giving viewers an open and honest conversation, which is what makes this series so special.”

After news of the upcoming season was shared on social media, many fans congratulated Stacey, but others expressed their disappointment at the fact that Lily will be starring in it. One wrote on Instagram: “Pretty grim giving that deviant airtime, not a single positive thing can come from the trainwreck of her life, screams if the worst click bait, expected better tbh.”

While some fans expressed their support for Stacey, others criticizing her for giving Lily a platform(Image: UKTV)

Another said: “Really disappointing, just don’t think Stacey Dooley should be promoting or giving this girl a platform. Lowest derivative entertainment, a real regression in content from you Stacey.” Someone else joked: “If she is sleeping over at Lilly Phillips’ gaff I strongly suggest she gets the sheets fumigated!”

However, some people were more supportive with one saying: “Omg wow this will be so interesting!!!!” Someone else added: “Can’t wait. Love these shows x.”

Another praised Stacey for giving Lily a platform to talk about herself, writing: “This is so exciting! I was so touched by the documentary that came out about her and have been wanting to hear more about her. Stacey is the perfect person for this I absolutely love the compassionate and thoughtful way she covers sex workers.”

EastEnders’ Bradley Branning star unrecognisable with different job 15 years on

Charlie Clements, who played Bradley Branning in EastEnders has undergone a dramatic transformation since departing the soap, and has now switched his career entirely

Charlie Clements has undergone a remarkable transformation, now sporting glasses and a beard, a stark contrast to his on-screen EastEnders persona. The actor who brought Bradley Branning to life started on the BBC One soap in 2006 before leaving in February 2010.

Charlie’s dramatic exit from EastEnders took place in its first-ever live episode, marking the show’s 25th anniversary, where his character fell to his death from the Queen Vic’s roof while being chased by the police. Bradley had pledged to protect his wife Stacey after she murdered her rapist Archie Mitchell, and the couple had devised a plan to flee together.

However, their getaway plan went disastrously wrong when Bradley attempted to scale The Vic to dodge the police. His hasty escape attempt ended in tragedy, leaving his wife a widow and sending shockwaves through Walford. The groundbreaking episode captivated nearly 20 million viewers.

Over a decade after his EastEnders days, Charlie decided to step away from acting, admitting that, like everyone else, he needs to “pay his bills”. In May 2024, he announced to his Instagram followers: “Aware that some may be less interested in my golf related activities! But for those who are go follow me at @charlieclementsgolf.”

His dedicated golf page showcases his new life as a greenkeeper, featuring photos of him honing his golf swing. In a recent post, the ex-soap star revealed: “In my career as an actor I’ve had some incredible opportunities and moments..

“But since starting out as a Greenkeeper a year ago, this is up there with the best of them… Touching the hallowed turf of Centre!”

Known as the unsung heroes of the golfing world, greenkeepers play a vital role in preserving the game’s manicured greens and fairways, overseeing tasks from smoothing out sand traps to grooming the plants that border the course

Charlie was recognised for his work during his time on EastEnders, scooping the Most Popular Newcomer award at the 2006 National Television Awards.

Following his dramatic departure from EastEnders, Charlie continued to make his mark in the entertainment industry. He played Jake O’Reilly in Casualty and in 2017, he appeared in the documentary Elizabeth and Her Enemies, portraying the Earl of Essex.

Off-screen, Charlie married his long-term girlfriend, Rebecca Clatworthy, in 2018 and the pair have three children. In addition to his acting prowess, Charlie has a keen eye for photography, frequently sharing photos of landscapes and nature on his Instagram page.

However, like many during the pandemic, Charlie faced the need to adapt. During the lockdowns, he temporarily put his acting career on hold to support his family. He worked in a restaurant during the initial lockdown and later at a garden centre during the second.

Speaking candidly on Loose Women, the actor explained: “Acting is my first love and career choice, but at the end of the day, I’m a jobbing actor. I’ve got bills to pay and a family to support like everyone else.”

Back in February, Charlie reflected on his EastEnders success and posed with his award

Back in February, Charlie reflected on his EastEnders success on Instagram, writing: “Reminded today that ‘I died’ 15 years ago today which makes that little thing even older.!!! As EE turns 40 I remind myself how fortunate I was to work on such an institution at such a young age and will be forever thankful to those to who made it possible.”

In this exclusive chat with OK!, the former I’m A Celeb winner, 43, opens up about how losing his own dad at the age of 12 influenced the type of parent he’s become and, as the summer holiday approaches, why he “hungers” to create happy family experiences.

Hi Joe! Summer holidays are coming – have you got the usual parental excitement and anxiety? Yeah, definitely! We get so excited because we spend so much of the year with the kids going to school, the clubs, me and Stacey working, so we always take a chunk of time off for the summer holidays. It’s our way of reconnecting as a family. Those holidays are really important to us. Do you try hard to coordinate your calendars to make sure you’re both off work? We do because what’s the point in working all year if you can’t get a chunk of time off together? We know once the summer’s gone they’re back to school, another school year older, so we want to make the most of it. Do you have happy memories of your own childhood holidays? We didn’t know how short our time was going to be with our dad, so those are really happy memories. We would get a caravan, hook it up to the car and drive it to a campsite in the South of France for four weeks.

It’s the sort of thing that Stacey and I are trying to provide for our kids. It’s what I hunger for and look back on with really fond memories.

How do you navigate having kids of different ages and keeping everybody happy? The most important thing is making time for them, and their own hobbies and interests. We’re at a point now where Rex loves his tennis, and Rose and Belle are into their dancing, and Zachary loves his cars – so they’re all very different. We try to make sure they know that me and their mum know about their interests and no one is ever overlooked.

Then when they get time together – the older ones and the younger ones – they love it. It’s amazing to see them all having fun, playing in the pool or whatever. We have moments where we’re just like, “Wow, look at this!” It’s amazing. Are you at a point yet where you feel proud of the dad you’ve become? I don’t think so actually. I’m very much still in the midst of the kids growing up and they’ve all got different needs and are at different stages. I’m maybe too much in the moment to step back and think, “Oh, that was good.” I think in a couple of years’ time, once the kids have all sort of found themselves, found their feet a bit more and established themselves a bit more, I’ll be able to look back and think, “Yeah, that was good.”

I’m learning all the time as a parent too and I don’t think there’s a real right or wrong way to do it. So maybe that’s one for the future because I would love to look back at this time and feel proud.

Do any of your kids take after you or Stacey? Are any of them destined for a life on television? Rose and Belle love their singing and dancing, and they go to classes with their cousins. They sort of come as a package and bounce off each other. Rose is very dramatic and loves acting. She’ll get on her pretend phone and have a 35-minute conversation with nobody – it’s lovely to see.

Rex is slightly more reserved but he loves his tennis and his piano lessons, and he’s a brilliant singer. They’ve all got their little talents that they might get from me and Stacey but, honestly, we always say they’ll find their own feet and we’d never push them in one direction. You’ve teamed up with Jammie Dodgers and Nerf for a Super Soaker campaign – Pickle Cottage’s garden seems the perfect place for a water fight! Absolutely, and I’m always encouraging the kids to play in the garden, especially in the summer when the weather’s hot. I’m very happy for them to get out there and soak each other with the Super Soakers. They have actually tried them already and came in very wet, so it’s been great fun to be part of.

Have you taken on Stacey in a Super Soaker water blaster fight yet? Who would win that battle? Oh, 100% me – I would be all over Stacey! She can’t do anything quietly so I’d hear her rustling through the forest or falling through a bush. I would definitely get her first. What do you make of the public interest in your family? You’re all stars! To be honest, I think me and Stacey find it quite bizarre. We don’t really flirt with the showbiz world – we very rarely go to openings and stuff. When me and Stacey are at work, we’re at work – then when we’re at home we just shut the door like any other family.

My dad was a London taxi driver and he’d come home for the evening and he’d shut the door and he wasn’t a London taxi driver any more, he was just my dad. It’s the same for me and Stacey and, although we both love what we do and feel so privileged to do it, when we come home our jobs are irrelevant. Your new Channel 4 show, Meal Deals: Behind The Bargain, is an interesting topic… Well, anything to do with consumers interests me. I knew the meal deal had been around a long time and it’s a part of British culture. Did you know there are 20 million different types of meal deals out there? We didn’t! You must have banked a lot of random facts from some of the shows you’ve done… Yeah, I do like to learn. I didn’t really like learning as a kid in school – I didn’t really have the capabilities for it because of my dyslexia and stuff, so I just had to get through school. So now, yes, I suppose I do like things that pique my interest, like the meal deal journey.

Are you a five-year plan type of person or do you have a go-with-the-flow attitude? I think Stacey is the planner – she does the manifesting. I do watch and take on board how she approaches things but I’m a bit more easy breezy. I’d love to say I have a five-year plan but I sometimes think if I have one and say it, I’m going to jinx it. I love cooking, I love working with the public and doing consumer stuff, so I feel like I’m on the path I want to be on at the moment. Do you find it hard saying no to jobs you’re offered? That’s the scary thing with our jobs – you never know how long you’re going to be working or how long someone’s going to be flavour of the month. It’s really unnatural to say no to stuff because you just don’t know what’s around the corner. But, at the same time, that’s one of the most exciting things about my job, that I just don’t know. I think that’s one of the things I actually love. I could be here today and somewhere completely different tomorrow.

James Martin announces ITV Saturday Morning break as he makes exciting summer plans

James Martin bid his Saturday Morning viewers a fond farewell as the show is being taken off the air for the summer – and he did not explain exactly when the show will be back

James Martin has revealed he is shunning exotic holidays and choosing to relax in the UK as his Saturday Morning TV show is paused for the summer. The 52-year-old TV chef took to the air for a final time this weekend ahead of an extended break.

The star has been hosting ITV’s James Martin’s Saturday Morning since 2017 – but fans will have to go for several weeks without seeing him on screens. On Saturday, the host explained that his show is being put on ice for the summer.

He did not give an explicit time or date that the long-running series would return – but did shed light on what he would be doing in the interim. After thanking his guests and co-stars, he engaged in some banter with his crew.

When the episode came to an end, James announced: “That is also for the series. Me and the crew are heading off on sunny holidays. Different climates.” Turning to his team, he asked: “Where are you going?”

A crew member could be heard replying that they would be going to Portugal – leading James to reveal he was looking forward to a staycation rather than jetting off to the sun.

He revealed: “Yorkshire for me.” Saturday’s episode brought to a close the current season of the show – which was forced to be shorter than usual due to a conflicting event.

He told fans: “Because of the Derby on ITV1 this afternoon, it is a shorter episode than usual today. But we still have time for one more dish.”

When the episode ended, he made sure to explain that he was grateful to his guests, crew and viewers for making his show a continued success. He said: “That’s all we have got time for today, a massive thank you to all of my guests.”

He continued: “To my food team, you can sleep better now. Daniel and Sally, and of course, Harry Redknapp and Carly Paoli.”

James later teased when his show would be back on the air – but did not commit to an exact date. He said: “We will be back here with more top chefs, other brilliant guests, and more delicious recipes later on in the year.”

And signing off, he told viewers: “Until then, thanks for watching. Have a wonderful, fantastic summer. I’ll see you out there wherever you are. Thanks for watching, see you again soon, goodbye for now.”

ITV has been making headlines in recent weeks over the brutal changes they have been making behind-the-scenes, reportedly leading to staff redundancies and even reports Lorraine Kelly is considering quitting the network after her number of shows per year was cut in half and her time slot hugely reduced.

ITV revealed last month: “From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily, and will transfer to be produced by ITV News at ITN at their base at Gray’s Inn Road in London. GMB will be made by a dedicated team within ITV News at ITN.

“This change will see ITV bring all its national news gathering into one hub, with Good Morning Britain benefitting from the journalistic and production resources already in place for national news bulletins, for the website and for digital platforms including ITVX.”

It was added: “Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will continue to be produced by ITV Studios and will be broadcast from a new location in central London.” Drastic changes have not yet been made for weekend scheduling.
