Good Morning Britain co-host Richard Madeley shared with viewers today how he grieved for his dad following his ‘unexpected’ death.
Richard, 69, lost his father in 1977, just days after the star married his first wife Lynda Hooley.
Richard recalled what a “huge shock” his dad’s passing had been, coming when Christopher Holt Madeley was only 49. Speaking with fellow presenter Susanna Reid in an emotional segment about loss during Thursday’s (June 12) Good Morning Britain, Richard also addressed how colleagues regarded him following Christopher’s funeral.

Former This Morning presenter Richard said: “I remember when my father died. He died on the spot, had a heart attack when he was 49. Huge shock. I was a breakfast producer then, a radio producer.”

Richard went on to detail how someone he worked with didn’t enquire about his huge family loss.
He continued: “I remember I had a week off to come to terms with it. After the funeral, I went in [to work], and the guy that I worked with didn’t say a word. He didn’t say, ‘how are you’ or ‘what happened?’ He obviously felt it was best not to talk about it.”
However, Richard did not harbour any ill will towards his former colleague. But Richard did express how he hoped circumstances could have been different.
He added: “I don’t blame him for that. [But] he couldn’t have been more wrong. You want people to come up to you and talk to you. You need that trigger to talk.”

‘Dad just lost it’
Telly regular Richard has previously told how he would be beaten by his father when he was a child.
In an with The Guardian in 2008, Richard said he was probably hit on around 25 occasions within a year or two.
“The beatings varied in how long they went on for, but they never varied in the strength with which he delivered these blows, which was [bleep]ing hard,” Richard said at the time.
“But it was quite a thin stick, so it wasn’t going to break anything except the skin.”
He has also previously reflected on GMB: “Dad just lost it. He’d boil over, go out, get his [bleep]ing stick, come back in and hit me till he stopped feeling angry. I’m no psychiatrist, but I think he was expelling this poison that had seeped into his life. I was in the way and I got hit.”
The thrashings eventually stopped when Richard was about 10, and his mother apparently threatened to inform the police.
Richard has also hypothesised his dad may have been sexually abused during his school days.
“He never said that but there were some pointers along the way,” Richard claimed in 2022.
Opera singer and presenter Wynne Evans appeared on This Morning yesterday to give an exclusive interview following his Strictly scandals.
Over the past couple of months, Wynne has remained in the headlines for his behaviour behind the scenes. Earlier this year, he left the Strictly tour after he allegedly made inappropriate comments to Janette Manrara.
Around the same time, he gifted his Strictly co-star Jamie Borthwick with a sex toy. During his time on the show, he was also accused of inappropriately touching his pro dancer, Katya Jones. Last month, Wynne announced his radio show had been axed by the BBC.
On Wednesday (June 11), Wynne, 53, joined This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard to tell his side of the story.

Last year, the beginning of Wynne’s scandals took place while being filmed for Strictly.
In an uncomfortable clip aired, the dad-of-two was captured slowly putting his hand further and further around Katya’s waist. Katya, 36, was then seen putting her hand over Wynne’s hand and moving it back towards her hip.
Following a huge backlash from viewers, Wynne told Cat and Ben that he could understand why it looked bad and apologised.
“I totally understand why people were upset by that,” he said. Describing himself as “naive”, Wynne insisted that Katya told him to put his hand across her body for her to move it back, sharing that she wanted to see if an “amateur” body language expert “picks it up”.
“And boy did they pick it up!” he said, adding that Katya told him they should stand at the front “so everybody sees it”.
After there was immediate outrage, Wynne claimed he told Katya Jones: “We need to make an apology video.” After making the video, which was initially 50 seconds long, Strictly bosses allegedly told Wynne it was “too long” and told him to “make it 10 seconds”.
Wynne continued to insist the whole situation was a “body language experiment that was picked up on”. He said the longer video he wanted to post would have looked more sincere than the short one that was uploaded.
Ben then read out a message from the BBC which said that the apology video was recorded twice and that everybody agreed that the second video filmed was better “suited for social media”.
Ben tried to point out that people have a short attention span, which could be why the longer clip wasn’t needed.

Wynne shares long apology video
In the latest update, Wynne took to Instagram today (June 12) to share the full apology video he was referring to.
“The video that was too long for @bbcstrictly @bbccymruwales. I think this tells it as it was,” he wrote in his caption.
The clip features Wynne and Katya backstage at Strictly in their costumes. Katya began the video explaining that the pair “felt the need to clarify something”.
“We find it quite fascinating how people take the time to look into in such detail every gesture, every look,” she said.
Wynne then chimed in: “So we thought we’ll mess around. And we said, ‘Oh, I’ll put my hand on your waist, you pretend to move it away and let’s see who notices it,’” before stating: “And now everybody thinks I’m a weirdo.”
“Promising” viewers that he is not, Wynne said the pair were “doing this high ten thing as well, where she blanks me from a high ten”.
Katya clarified that she and Wynne were “messing around” and that he is “not a creep”. She ended the video by praising Wynne, referring to him as a “brilliant dancer”.
‘I wanted to end my life’
Elsewhere in the This Morning interview, Wynne got emotional after Cat Deeley asked about his mental health.
“I’ve had clinical depression since 2016,” he said. While hoping to help others, Wynne said the scandals took him to a dark place. “I was at my lowest. I wanted to end my life, and I would have if I weren’t surrounded by people.”
Wynne explained that he told his girlfriend Liz Brookes, to whom he announced his engagement, that he wanted to die. He said he managed to get through it over the past couple of months after being supported by his family.
Since being suspended from the BBC, Wynne insisted they haven’t spoken to him, only his lawyers. Ben read a statement from the corporation that said it would offer him support if he wanted any.
Despite loving the dancing aspect and pro dancer Katya, Wynne said he wouldn’t do the show if he could go back, stating it “wasn’t a safe environment” for him. “It was a pressure cooker,” he admitted.
‘This whole interview is uncomfortable’
Following the exclusive interview, viewers were divided.
“This interview isn’t doing him any favours imo,” one user wrote on X.
“This is a car crash interview,” another person shared.
“Man alive, this whole interview is uncomfortable,” a third expressed.

On the other hand, many believed Wynne shouldn’t be judged harshly.

Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday (June 11) Stacey revealed she recently visited Lake Como where the Rehab factory is located.
The Loose Women star captioned the post: “Thank you Lake Como what a dream come true. To visit our @rehabyourhair (my brand) sunshine spritz factory and launch our shimmer spray, what a beautiful beautiful city. With the most breathtaking views everywhere you look.
“I feel so lucky. And so proud of how far Rehab has come. From Vicky and Lulu’s garages to Lake Como. Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts to every single one of you who have supported rehab from the very beginning and are still championing it now.”
She added: “It means the absolute world to us and we wouldn’t even have the chance to even make our products in places with the special technologies we need without your support.”
Alongside the caption, Stacey shared a slew of gorgeous snaps, including one of herself rocking a stunning one-shoulder black and white swimsuit while posing on the back of a boat with her products.
Another photo showed Stacey looking sensational in a black string bikini, while flashing her signature smile to the camera.
In a third photo, she oozed style while wearing a plunging purple dress that boasted a thigh-high split.

Stacey also posted a video of herself climbing up on an ancient bridge before preparing to jump off. Underneath, a fellow holiday-goer could be seen swimming in the gorgeous blue waters.
In the clip, before taking a deep breath, Stacey suddenly jumps into the water below. Fortunately, she just missed the person who was swimming below! However, fans – and even Stacey’s sister Jemma – couldn’t help but share their concerns that she almost landed on the man.

Tonight’s episode of Love Island ended with a huge twist, with two stars at risk of being dumped from the villa – and being forced to decide between themselves. The latest recoupling saw the girls decide who they wanted to be with, creating four new couples.
However, this left Blu and Shea single – and therefore at risk of being dumped in tomorrow night’s episode.
While we have to wait to find out who will be packing their bags, fans are certain that they know who’ll be next to leave.

Two islanders sneak out of the bedroom to covertly meet in the Hideaway tonight
ITV has released a sneak-peek at tonight’s episode – which sees Harry and Helena creep out of the shared bedroom to meet up alone after dark.
In the clip, we watch as the pair make their plan earlier in the evening, with Harry saying: “If you want to, when the lights go off, leave it like a couple minutes then just tap my foot or something and I’ll come out the door.”
The couple go through with their plan – however, they’re not as subtle as they’d like, with a number of islanders watching as they sneak out.

Love Islander DUMPED from villa
Another Love Island hopeful has already left the villa just days on from the new series launch on Monday night. ITV bosses promised an explosive season of the long-running dating show and they’re certainly pulling no punches when it comes to early eliminations.
Manchester stunner Sophie Lee became the unfortunate casualty of an early twist in the show, finding herself gaining the unwanted honour of being the first to be dumped from the villa.
The drama intensified with the entrance of American bombshell Toni Laites, who was instructed to pinch the man of her choosing. This caused tension between Ben Holbrough and Shakira Khan, leaving Shakira single and with 24 hours to charm the rest of the lads.
On the subsequent evening, the men had the chance to declare if they wished to trade their current partner for Shakira. After making her selection amongst these men, Shakira opted for footballer Harry Cooksley, thereby leaving Sophie to pack her bags and head back to the UK single.
In a fresh twist, another male contestant finds himself on the chopping block when left solo after a shocking recoupling, according to The Sun. This comes following the dramatic entry of newbies Shea Mannings and Remell Mullins, who both nabbed the chance to select first amid the reshuffling in the villa.
Viewers will have to wait a while before discovering the latest Islander to leave the villa when the dramatic recoupling airs in tomorrow’s episode.

Later that afternoon, Meg gets a text with some big news. It reads:
Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling in which the girls will choose which boy they want to couple up with #SpoiltForChoice #VillaVibesAreShifting
This leaves the boys wondering if they’ve done enough to be chosen.
Toni says: “Tables have turned!”
They haven’t got long to wait. That evening Tommy gets a text:

As the boys line up, the girls get ready to make their choices and their first speeches at the Firepit. But will they stay coupled up with their current partners or have the events of the past few days been enough to make them take action?
And that’s not all for this re-coupling as a surprise extra text arrives that none of the Islanders had seen coming…

The next morning, the Islanders have questions after Harry and Helena’s not-so-secret trip the Hideaway.
Helena talks to Shakira telling her: “I wanted to speak to you ‘cause I don’t want you to think it was done in a malicious way.”
But how will Shakira react?
Harry is also keen to pull Shakira for a chat.
Shakira tells him: “Don’t act like you went to the Hideaway cause I kissed someone, you wanted to go…”
And the day isn’t over yet. Later, Shakira has a chat with Ben that surprises her – might her head be turned back to the beginning?

The Islanders watch as Blu and Shakira leave the Hideaway and they have plenty of questions. Blu wastes no time in filling them in on the fact they shared a kiss.
Dejon asks Blu: “What did you do in there? A chat?”
Blu replies: “No, we had a kiss, I went in for her.”
Megan is shocked saying: “I love the messiness!”
Meanwhile, Harry and Helena are at the mini Firepit and he asks Helena: “Are we still on for the Hideaway?”
But Dejon walks over to tell them the latest…
Dejon says: “You know he (Blu) kissed her (Shakira)?”
Harry replies: “No he didn’t…I don’t believe what I’m hearing.”
Elsewhere, Shakira is telling Toni, explaining: “Blu pulled me for a chat and he went, ‘I didn’t kiss you in the challenge ‘cause I wanted to do it now’ and he just leaned in…it was a good kiss but it says a statement, I feel like Ben won’t be happy and Harry especially.”
Harry then asks Shakira about the kiss with Blu before telling her: “All that matters is I want to pursue things with you.”
Harry later hears Blu’s side of the story, with Blu telling him: “We had two kisses, where’s your head at? It seems to me your with Helena more and flirting?”
Harry says: “I think it’s more flirty, but I think Shakira’s got more substance.”

Also that evening, Toni and Conor get closer as new bombshell Shea pulls Megan for a chat telling her: “I wanna get to know you… you seem pretty content?”
Megan says: “I’m happy… I think the boys were shaking when you came in cause they’ve not felt that, but we have – I think Tommy’s shi**ing himself.”
Then, as the Islanders settle in for bed at night Harry and Helena make the decision to action their plan to sneak off to the Hideaway, hoping no one will see them, but it doesn’t go quite to plan…

Harry’s age has had people talking as his antics have come under fire from viewers. Many fans said he “couldn’t be” the age given, as he sparked “immature” drama with co-stars Shakira and Helena.
From flirting behind backs, to being called a “player” and lying, Harry was called out by viewers and his co-stars. So when fans realised he was 30 years old, some fans didn’t believe it. They suggested he seemed so much younger, as others also warned Shakira away given his “immature” antics, after realising their age gap.
Shakira is 22, making her eight years younger than Harry. But it was Harry’s actions, especially the lying after being caught out, that sparked the biggest reaction.

Harry faces exit calls
Harry has really riled up viewers thanks to his behaviour tonight, with some even calling for his exit. Not only did he lie to current partner Shakira about a televised moment, but a “naughty” comment he made to Helena was also picked up on.
Harry snuck off with Helena to the Hideaway and they joked about heading back there in secret when everyone was asleep. Then when it came to a game of dares, Harry gave Helena a lap dance.
He was heard whispering the word “Hideaway” into Helena’s ear, while Shakira was sat right there. Then as the ‘dance’ came to an end, he sat down and put his hand on Shakira’s leg, as well as Helena’s leg.
Shakira confronted him about the moment but he denied it had happened before asking Helena about it.
Viewers tuning in were left infuriated with many calling for Harry to leave the show. One fan posted on X: “Is nobody going to talk about how Harry literally lied to Shakira’s face, saying Helena stuck it on him when he did the exact same. And whispering ‘hideaway’ to Helena in the game. GET HIM OUTTT!!”
Another fan agreed: “Get Harry out my villa.” A third viewer posted: “I just need all the men out of the villa right now,” as a fourth fan posted: “I need Harry, Helena, Ben, Blu and Meg all dumped.”

Shakira was initially unaware that Harry had snuck off to the Hideaway with co-star Helena. They joked about waiting until everyone was asleep before revisiting the room for some fun.
Harry couldn’t take the “lying” though, telling Shakira about their chats leaving her stunned but almost impressed by Helena saying “fair play”.
Things heated up again during a game as Shakira was told Harry had his hands on both hers and Helena’s legs after his lap dance. Shakira managed to get her own back, however, as she then snuck off to the Hideaway with Blu for a cheeky kiss.

Fans demand change
It’s safe to say many Love Island fans wanted a change to the show, after a brutal dumping of Sophie Lee the day before.
But it was the actions of some Islanders in particular that left viewers fuming, suggesting a twist “had been for nothing”. Sophie’s partner Harry had been stolen by Shakira, leaving her single and dropped from the villa.
Yet we have seen hints that both Harry and Shakira are now interested in others. One fan said: “Shakira is not feeling Harry, Sophie went home for nothing.”
Another fan said: “Producers were wrong for dumping Sophie idc,” as a third posted: “So what was the point of sending Sophie home if you will end up kissing Blu?”

Alima appeared to be put off new boy Remell already after the games by the firepit. He revealed he had slept with five women on one night out, which left Alima asking: “Why would you say that.”
Fans have urged her to look out for the red flag as one said: “Alima is strict… I love it.” Another added: “5 girls in one night? Get Alima a new bombshell smh.” Someone else commented: “Nah he defo said that thinking it was a flex. Alima run.”

Shakira is getting a lot of attention in the game, with Harry looking far from impresed.
Viewers noticed his reaction as one said: “Harry about fainting!!!” Another added: “Harry’s livid.” Someone else commented: “Harry is mad!!!”
He was then tasked with performing a lap dance on the person sat to the left of him, which is Helena. Harry whispered: “Hideaway,” in her ear. A viewer quipped: “harry starting with his hand on Shakira’s leg, then ending it on Helena’s?? this man is giving desperate, yikesss.”

Shakira has figured out Ben’s game plan as he tried to show interest in her again. Despite being taken by Toni on night one, Ben has now got the ‘ick’ from her and tried to flirt with Shakira again.
However, she was having non of it as she figured out he was only showing interest in her because the other boys had been.
Fans praised her as one said: “At least Shakira is a smart enough to know a Ben is only doing a 360 because other guys want her.” Another added: “i love shakira , she’s clocked ben.”

No one ‘holding grudes’ after ‘mean girls’ concerns
Meg has reassured Shakira that the other girls won’t be taking any negative feelings forward after she was forced to graft with their partners to avoid being dumped last night. Fans have said it felt as though there was a ‘mean girls’ atmosphere at the time, but Meg told Shakira tonight: “None of the girls will be holding grudges”.

Ben really has made it clear he isn’t fussed on Toni after she told him not everything is about him.
He’s yet to tell Toni his true feelings, but was quick to tell the other Islanders she has given him the “ick”.
Ben has been slammed by fans as they have branded him “rude” and disrespectful”. One said: “Ben isn’t even looking her in the eye. Oh he’s sooo sassy.”
Another added: “I do not like Ben or the way he talks to people. His body language is off.” Someone else commented: “Ben is actually so self centred and egotistical he needs to leave already.”

Things are not looking good for Toni and Ben as they got off to a very awkward start tonight. As the Islanders take in Sophie’s shock departure, Toni had a word of warning for the boys.
She predicts there will be some bombshells on the way, yet Ben seemed to think Toni was saying he should be worried. Toni quipped: “Everything is about him.”
Her comment proved enough to wind Ben up as he stormed off leaving tensions very high.

Sophie Lee hits out at boys
Following her brutal exit after just 48 hours in the villa, Sophie Lee has returned home and had something to say on the boys. Marking her return to social media, the motivational speaker shared a telling post about what she really thought of her time on the show.
She re-posted a graphic from the official Love Island account that detailed what the word “D***matised,” means. It explained: “A state of being so infatuated or emotionally and/or sexually captivated by someone, primarily due to the quality or appeal of their sexual performance, that one loses perspective or good judgement.”
Sophie added her own comment as she remarked: “Very happy I didn’t leave the villa d***matised!” The author had also shared a selfie from Manchester Airport following her swift departure.
She said: “Back in my city! What a whirlwind, thank you all so much for all the love and support. A short but sweet journey.”

Two new bombshells on their way..
Two new Love Island bombshells are set to arrive tonight – Bristolian scaffolder Shea and Essex based content creator Remell.
Asked what he wants, Shea said: “She needs to be bubbly and we need to have that initial spark. She needs to have a nice personality – like I think I have – so that we match together. Also, I have a little boy, so I’ll be taking him into consideration with who I couple up with, too.”
Remell added of his own wish list: “A bubbly, confident, ambitious and fun girl. One feature that stands out to me is a nice smile, nice teeth and someone that can keep me on my toes.”

Snogs, fingersucking and handcuffs as Love Islanders play X-rated game
Later that evening, whilst getting ready, Helena gets the first text of the series which reads:
“Girls, Get ready because Shea and Remell are waiting for you at the Firepit. #LetGamesBegin #ShesGotOptions”
They excitedly let the boys know and head out to meet the two new bombshells, Shea and Remell at the Firepit, as the boys watch on and judge their competition from the terrace.
The girls fill them in on their current couples.
Toni asks them: “So what’s your plan coming in here?”
Remell teases: “I’m not gonna say too much about myself because I’ve got to ease in where I’m at…”
Alima jokes: “We’ll see!”
Harry notices Remell taking a liking to Alima saying: “He’s on Alima!”
They invite the boys down to meet the new bombshells and it’s time for the first game – dares in a box.
Amongst the various dares, Alima snogs the Islander she would couple up with if there was a recoupling – she goes for Remell. Ben is dared to snog the Islander he fancies the most. He kisses Shakira as Harry watches on.
Elsewhere, Megan is dared to fake an orgasm in front of the Islander she fancies, while Shea has to seductively suck the finger of the Islander he’d use handcuffs with. Conor has to kiss every Islander of the opposite sex, with the girls later commenting on his good kissing skills.
The dares continue as Harry gives Helena a lap dance and Remell shocks the Islanders when he’s asked to reveal a secret about himself, which doesn’t seem to land well with Alima.
With dares seemingly causing quite a stir amongst the couples, not all is as it seems as an unexpected duo heads into the Hideaway later that evening…

First couple head to the Hideaway
The next morning Ben pulls Shakira for a chat in the ‘no invite needed’ Hideaway wanting to let her know what he’s thinking.
Shakira is surprised saying: “I thought you weren’t interested in me so where’s this switch up come from?”
He admits: “I was a little bit smug… you know I like you.”
But Shakira is unsure saying: “There’s attraction… but I feel like you need training”
Has Ben done enough, as he’s not the only one with his eye on Shakira with Blu later pulling her for a chat.
Blu asks Shakira: “You were surprised I stood up?”
Shakira replies: “I was flabbergasted!”
Blu adds: “You’ve got a personality and you’re sexy”
Meanwhile Helena and Harry head to the Hideaway for a chat, making jokes about what the Hideaway has to offer.
Helena tells him the rules of the private area saying: “At night time you can sleep in the bed with someone you’re not in a couple with.”
Harry laughs: “So there might be a bit of corridor creeping tonight.”
Harry and Shakira later debrief about their chats and she asks him: “Is Helena getting her graft on? Is she putting it on you?”
Harry says: “Yeah, she is…we flirt, I think you know and that’s ok.”
Shakira replies of Helena’s flirting efforts: “Fair play girl.”

First villa row as Toni and Ben clash
The Islanders are still reeling about Shakira choosing Harry and Sophie being sent home – a timely reminder that time on the island of love can be cut short.
Chatting in a small group Toni says: “Boys, it’s your turn, just saying – I don’t think you’re gonna be safe.”
Ben replies: “Are you saying me in particular?”
Toni adds: “No it’s about boys, not everything is about you.”
Ben walks off.
Leaving the Islanders surprised at his reaction, Meg later tells him: “That was a bit much…I don’t get what she said that was really offensive?”
Ben replies: “She said, ‘Not everything is about you…’ I just got the ick.”
Ben also tells Shakira he’s got the ick with Toni. Shakira lets Toni know about this and suggests she pulls him for a chat.
Toni does exactly that and asks Ben: “I’ve heard from people you said I’m giving you the ick?”
Looks like things for the newly formed couple are over before they ever really began, and as Toni’s head turns to Dejon when she pulls him for a chat the next day, how will Meg react?

Sophie Lee breaks silence
Sophie has spoken out for the first time since her exit. She was brutually dumped from the island but still admitted her excitement at being in the villa, even if it was just for 48 hours.
She said in her exit interview: “I was so ecstatic, I was so nervous, so intrigued… you’ve never met any of these people, never seen anyone or anything. It’s a surreal moment because you’ve never experienced that in your life.
“I was so excited to meet people, I’m a people’s person, especially with my job. I have such a passion for learning people’s stories, getting to know people and this is why I think my dating experience is so different; I’m automatically tuned to not judge people by what they look like and to know about their stories before judging them.”
She added: “I just was myself, fully. My silly, wonderful and little bit cautious (but that’s just me) self.”

Casa Amor bombshell ‘rumbled’
Fans are convinced they know which former Love Island star will be rocking back up for Casa Amor later in the series. For a few days the original boys and girls are split up in separate villas, with a group of new boys and girls arriving to cause drama.
The twist has often led to unexpected betrayals, shock exits and new couples. Ahead of the show confirming if it will air this year or not, fans think they already know someone who will enter as part of the shake-up.
Sophie Lee was axed from the show tonight in a brutal dumping but some viewers are now convinced her time on the show isn’t over. They are now speculating Sophie will be back on the show in a matter of weeks, as a bombshell in the second villa.

What to expect on Wednesday night…
The series is only just heating up as two new bombshells gear up to make their dramatic entrance. A tomorrow night teaser hinted at new drama, new romance and plenty of “chaos”.
Viewers are thrilled at the prospect of things ramping up, saying “we’re so back”. There seems to be a game of dares or something similar, and soon enough the Islanders are locking lips with people they are not currently paired up with.

Betrayal turns into karma
Viewers were left gobsmacked when Blu decided to stand up for bombshell Shakira, only for her to choose someone else, leaving him slinking back to his original partner.
Sparks were flying during Shakira’s conversation with Blu as she admitted that she was intrigued by him, saying: “I think you’ve got a good vibe…you’re very calming and I don’t have to put on a bravado.”
Host Maya asked the boys to stand up if they were interested in leaving their current partner for Shakira at the end of the episode. In a shock move, Blu, Harry, and Conor revealed they had been charmed by Shakira – and left their own partners at risk of a dumping.
Blu ultimately did not get selected and sheepishly went back to his original partner, Alima – with fans predicting trouble to come. One person fumed: “Send Blu home with immediate effect.”
Another exclaimed: “Blu needs to leave my villa immediately!!” A third ominously predicted: “I don’t know how but Blu I will make sure you leave that Villa.”

‘Mean girls’ rile up viewers
Viewers have complained some of the gossiping in the house has already turned to “mean girl” behaviour following a string of “snarky” comments.
As Shakira grafted in an effort to stay in the villa and avoid being dumped, some of the girls decided to chat about her moves. Helena said: “I think she fancies everyone, doesn’t she?” Prompting laugher, she then teased: “She probably fancies the plants!”
Fans were not impressed as one said: “What are these snarky remarks about Shakira? it’s giving insecure.” Another added: “The girls excluding Shakira like it’s somehow her fault that Maya says she has graft or she goes home.” A third said: “Ok it’s giving mean girls.”
Someone wrote: “This energy from the girls towards Shakira is giving insecure.” Another questioned: “Why they being mean to Shakira tho.” Defending her, one fan said: “Um why are they so shady towards Shakira?? how is any of this her fault.”

Tensions are already running high in the villa as things heat up between the Islanders. It seems some are keen to mark their teritory and could end up ruffling some feathers along the way.
As Shakira worked hard to find a connection to secure her spot in the villa and avoid being dumped, Megan took matters into her own hands as she witnessed her boy Tommy speaking with a flirty Shakira.
Clearly worrying about being dumped, she shared her fears with her co-stars, as Meg, Helena and Dejon all telling her not to sit back and let it happen.
As she prepared to “claim her man” she brazenly walked over and interrupted Shakira and Tommy’s cosy chat. She took him to the terrace, far away from her new rival, before confessing she was “jealous”.

Viewers fume over ‘unfair’ new rule
Fans are not happy Sophie has been sent packing on day two of the series as they have slammed the new rule as “cruel” and “unfair”.
Shakira made her decision after being given the power to steal a man from her fellow female cast mates. At the firepit, Blu, Conor and Harry stood up to show that they wanted to re-couple with Shakira, and after initially agonising over who to pick, Shakira eventually chose Harry.
It left Sophie single – and therefore dumped from the island after just one day on the show. Fans took to social media to slam the result, with many angry over Sophie’s early exit from the competition.
Some even said that Sophie deserved better than Love Island anyway, with one writing: “Sophie Lee story is amazing but why did she choose Love Island? #LoveIsland.” A second said: “Sophie is too good for Love Island #Love Island.” A third tweeted: “Sophie intentions are too pure for Love Island I feel badddd #loveisland.”

Two bombshells revealed
The Love Island villa is set to be rocked again following Sophie’s shock departure tonight. She will be swiftly followed by two boys, who will be ready to crack on with the girls.
Shea, 25, from Bristol, said he is looking for someone bubbly, who’s got “that spark”. Unlike some of the other boys in the villa, this one is not looking to mess around. Shea wants to find a good girl with a “nice personality” to get serious with. It’s also very important to him that she will be understanding of the important role his young son plays in his life.
While Essex-based content creator Remell, 24, wants to meet someone who is “bubbly, confident, ambitious and fun”. He admitted he easily gets bored of being with the same person, so girls on the island better look out, because his head might be quickly turned.

Some fans were so unimpressed with Tommy and Megan’s first kiss that they have threatened to call Ofcom!

Sophie’s horrific injury detailed
Sophie detailed her horrific injury following a freak accident as she entered the villa last night. In 2018, Sophie was involved in a terrifying event when she had flames blow into her face during a performance in Chicago.
She spoke about what happened during the first episode of the show as she told Harry: “I’ve only had one boyfriend. When I was 22 I was in a fire accident. It made me the woman that I am. It made me learn so much about life and interactions with people and how to be better.
“I believe to date people, you also need to be in a good place in yourself. That’s why in my early 20s, I think I wasn’t ready to date because I didn’t feel good in myself. I had a lot of self work to do, I had a lot of building my own confidence.”

A Love Island star has called for the show to be axed after “hitting rock bottom”.
She wrote: “Love Island. It starts tonight…I’m quite shocked this show is still on air to be honest. I was on it 8 years ago, and in that 8 years I’ve turned pain into purpose and used my platform for good. Within the 8 years that have passed I’ve had to hit rockbottom to find a strength I never knew I had – and awaken to the truth of who we are.
“However what young Malin didn’t know was, how dangerous a show like this is – portraying toxicity as love, unrealistic body standards and women who maybe broken inside but wanting love for the wrong reasons – and thinking fame will save them.. and as for the men – similar things.”

Two decades before…
Love Island has been going on for 10 years now – but it’s original was the celebrity version called Celebrity Love Island.
Fearne Cotton and Patrick Kielty hosted the show, filmed in Fiji and featured only celebrities. Sharing footage from the series, she said: “You may not know this, but 20 years ago…I could puke saying that…I hosted the original iteration of Love Island. There were some major differences to Love Island today. It was shot in Fiji and they were all celebrities.

An exit from the Love Island villa is just a day away despite the series only just kicking off. Host Maya Jama dropped the news of a looming dumping as she introduced bombshell Toni at the end of the episode.
She picked Ben to steal, leaving Shakira single and 24 hours to secure another match. Tomorrow, Shakira will pick the boy she wants to steal from another girl to keep her place on the show.
Fans do not believe Shakira will go home and that whoever she chooses will ditch their partner to be with her. They suspect it was Blu that Shakira picks, and Alima who will be axed from the show in the fallout.
One viewer feared: “I’m thinking that Alima could get dumped because neither of them wants to stay in their couple, so Shakira could take Blu off Alima’s hands.”

Now, Shakira is single, and is at risk of leaving the show for good, just hours into her experience. Host Maya advised her that she had just 24 hours to save her place in the villa, and it could come at a cost for someone else.
The Islander must get grafting and try and couple up with another boy. While she can’t steal Ben back from Toni, she is allowed to steal any of the other boys from the other girls.
The person Shakira choses must agree to pair up with her and leave their current partner. If they say no, then Shakira will remain single and will most likely be dumped from the villa in the next episode.

New format slammed for being ‘lame’
Love Island introduced a major new twist for tonight’s opening episode, yet it didn’t go down well with everyone. Rather than the usual coupling ceremony based on first impressions, this year’s boys were kept firmly out of sight.
Instead, the girls were presented with six glowing hearts, each of which displayed a short dating profile of one of the lads. Each profile revealed just five things: name, age, height, job, and one cheeky line about their dating style.
Sadly, fans were less than impressed with the new format, which was branded “lame” on social media by viewers who insisted “I want out”.
One person hit out: “This is such a lame twist because there’s no drama or mystery about who will end up with who.” Another chimed in: “If this is the twist that is bigger than ever this year, I want out. It’s not MAFS.”
A third moaned: “This twist has done the male islanders dirty, I’m expecting fit fit fitties coming out with these bios and then we got a load of understudies.” Someone else said they are still hoping there is another switch-up coming, complaining that so far season twelve feels like “a copy and paste” of all the previous ones.

Sophie decided to open up to her match Harry about the horror accident she suffered when she was 22. The Islander was involved in a fire stunt that went wrong while on stage.

The boys have made wild remarks despite only just being matched up with the girls – as they set their sights on a bombshell entrance. In a shock conversation after getting coupled up, the boys shared their excitement for a bombshell to come into the villa so they have more options.

Winner ‘returns’ to villa
Some fans have been hit with a case of déjà vu as the boys were introduced. Viewers couldn’t help but compare new arrival Harry Cooksley to Love Island: All Stars winner Tom Clare.
The resemblance was so striking that one fan tweeted: “Is the first one not pink jacket Tom?” Another gasped: “HARRY’S TOM’S DOUBLE!!” Others became suspicious that the wool was being pulled over their eyes by the former cast member, with one suggesting: “Tom really thinks he can trick us by re-entering the villa under ‘Harry’. This has Casey’s idea written all over it.”
Someone else agreed, adding: “Tom sneaked in and thought we wouldn’t notice.” However, the man in question is in fact Harry, a 30-year-old from Guildford who is the oldest member of the original 2025 cast. While he might look like Tom’s long-lost twin, he is actually a newcomer to the villa.

Viewers fume they’re ‘sick of it’
Not every Love Island fan has been thrilled to witness the launch show, as one moment has certainly got a bad reaction.
It’s something that happens pretty much every series, but some viewers went as far as saying they were “sick of it”. Commenting on certain scenes being “painful” and “unnecessary,” some even called on bosses to ban it.
The issue they had was the screaming from the girls as they entered the villa. One fan posted: “8 minutes in and I’m already sick of the screaming.” Another agreed: “God girls stop screaming!!!!” as a third added: “All this screaming on entering the villa is so unnecessary, your not 10.”

Meg was introduced to her match Dejon after she selected his dating profile, however when he stepped out Meg admitted she was “50/50” with what she saw. Host Maya asked what was holding her back, as Meg admitted she was struggling as she couldn’t see Dejon’s eyes.
When they were fully introduced, Dejon asked Meg if her rating had gone up now that she could look into his eyes. However, in an awkward moment Meg didn’t give an answer and quipped she didn’t know him yet.
Fans think it has spelt disaster for the couple as one said: “Meg is not on it.” Another added: “Nah they way Blondie Meg was lowkey disgusted.”

Shakira has already ruffled some feathers with viewers with her very candid comment as she entered the villa. Within just moments of being on screen, the beauty wasted no time in getting to know her co-star Meg.

Dejon Noel-Williams, who is the son of former Premier League striker Gifton Noel-Williams, is a close friend to a former islander. While you would think that being a friend of someone who made it to the final of the show would mean you get all the lowdown and ins and outs of the love island experience, this was not the case for Dejon.
Dejon shares a close bond with Tyrique Hyde, who finished in third place alongside his then partner, Ella Thomas. Their friendship stems from their fathers’ profession and shared experiences growing up.

The 24-year-old fitness buff from London just so happens to have brushed shoulders with boxing royalty. Yep, none other than Anthony Joshua. While he hasn’t met him just yet, Tommy’s brother works closely with the boxer.

One Islander sure knows how to catch the attention of celebrities already as Helena Ford reveled she is bringing more than just stunning looks and cabin crew charm to the villa.
The 29-year-old Londoner is already well connected in celebrity circles, counting Zara McDermott, Justin Bieber, and the sons of British TV royalty among her friends.

Axed Islander returns home
Axed Love Island star Kyle Ashman insisted he’s ‘not a bad guy’ and shared hopes to still be able to take part in this year’s ITV dating show – despite being chopped from the line-up hours after he was announced.
His time in the spotlight was abruptly cut short as it was reported the water operative was arrested and questioned by police alongside another person over an alleged attack in Stafford, which took place in February this year.
Kyle strongly denied having any involvement in the incident. He said: “I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.”

Rugby hunk Conor Phillips is just hours away from making his Love Island entrance but has already broken show rules. Conor admitted he spoke to former winner Greg O’Shea before flying out to Majorca to get some advice.
However, Islanders are not meant to reveal that they are going on the show beforehand. Brushing off his strict rule break, Conor said: “I know Greg through rugby circles so I spoke to him about going on Love Island.

Replacement Islander gives wild confession
Professional rugby player Conor Phillips is the new singleton entering the Love Island villa, stepping in at the eleventh hour after the shock removal of original contestant Kyle Ashman. Kyle was axed from the line up over a previous arrest.

Hours before lauch night, Freddy Brazier says he turned down the chance to appear on Love Island.
The 20-year-old – the son of TV presenter Jeff Brazier and the late Big Brother legend Jade Goody – says he doesn’t need the dating show to find someone special.
“I’m on Instagram, I don’t need Love Island!” he told MailOnline. “I’ve got Love Island on my phone from my bed.
“I need to do something without him [my dad]. I don’t want to be seen as “Freddy from Race with his dad.” I want to be known for something on my own.
“I’m more interested in modelling. I’ve got some good opportunities coming up, but this stuff with my dad isn’t helping that.”

ITV bosses say they will give fans the complete story this summer – and that includes sex scenes.
Executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter told us during a tour of the villa that they won’t shy away if things turn really racy.
“If sex happens, we’ll show it,” he said. “The Hideaway will be open 24 hours.
“We need to keep the show fresh and exciting. After 10 years, the stats speak for themselves. The show will continue to thrive.
“We the producers need to stay ahead of the curve. The whole ‘twists and turns’ thing is about making the show fresh. We’re going to give it all we’ve got.”

Is Giovanni Pernice’s ex set for the villa?
Giovanni Pernice’s ex girlfriend Molly Brown has been ‘eyed up’ for a summer of love in the villa as she tries to find a new romance.
The 26 year old, who dated the Strictly star for several months last year, has reportedly been approached by ITV producers.
Molly and Giovanni began dating at the beginning of 2024 but split after a few weeks before rekindling their relationship until July. The couple were together while allegations were being made by Amanda Abbington against Giovanni regarding his actions on Strictly.
The allegations reportedly grew too much for the couple, and they went their separate ways. A source claimed that Molly could ‘spill the beans’ on her previous relationship.
They teased: “TV execs love a famous ex and the chance for Molly to spill the beans on the biggest scandal for their rival channel the BBC was very tempting.”

Twist leaves fans baffled
It’s fair to say there’s been a mixed reaction to the show’s biggest twist in quite some time.
This weekend, the show’s fans discovered the first bombshell to enter the Love Island 2025 villa is Toni Laites – BEFORE the programme even kicks off.
“How can we get a bombshell before the show starts?” one asked. “A bombshell before it’s even started is crazy but whatever pays the bills,” said another.
A third person wasn’t so keen writing on X: “I don’t like seeing the bombshells prior to them bombshelling… cuz like what’s the point?”

From a taxi driver to a rugby player, the girls will have a good batch to take their pick from.

Love Island’s first bombshell arrives
After the newly coupled up Islanders spend a bit of time getting to know one another, later that evening, Maya makes a shock return to the Villa with some huge news.
Gathering everyone at the firepit, Maya reveals the day isn’t over yet and someone new is already on their way.
Suddenly, the series’ first bombshell Toni makes a dramatic entrance into the Villa. The Islanders are quick to realise she’s come all the way from the US as Toni teasingly says: “Good evening UK! Surprise!”
The Islanders can’t believe there’s an American bombshell and there’s clearly some excitement amongst the boys… and some concerns for the girls.
Maya then drops some more big news: not only has Toni just arrived all the way from the States, but she is also going to immediately steal one of the boys.
Hearing the power is in her hands, Toni coyly replies: “Interesting…”
And that’s not all, Maya has more news for one Islander. The clock is ticking and their time in the Villa could be over quicker than you can say señorita…

Love Island twist with ‘dating app’ theme revealed
Maya then has a big announcement, which shocks the girls as she explains: “This year things are slightly different. You’ve told me what your type on paper is, but does that match your ideal man in reality? Come and join me by the pool.”
As the girls line up, Maya explains: “Girls, in front of you there are six love hearts and each boy has given me their dating profile which is written on each of these hearts – shall we have a look at what these boys have to offer?”
On the boards the girls see descriptions for this year’s boys: Ben, Dejon, Harry, Conor, Blu and Tommy.
The girls have to decide who they’d like to couple up with based on these key stats with the boys’ name, age, job and a headline, such as “I like to play hard and work harder! I love to play, so I work very hard…”, to help them decide who to pick.
After discussing the profiles and trying to work out who might be right for them, Maya counts to three and they must run to a heart, with only one girl allowed to stand by each heart.
With only seconds to make a decision, will they all get the boy they wanted? Or will the girls be left eager to swap?
Now it’s over to the boys. Decisions made, they enter the Villa one-by-one to meet their match…will it be love at first write or were the girls too quick to judge their type?

Love Island first look as girl admits “my bar is low”
Love Island is back tonight, with 12 brand new singletons all looking to find ‘the one’. The girls – Shakira, Meg, Alima, Sophie, Megan and Helena – enter the stunning Mallorcan Villa first and get to know one another. But it’s dating that’s on their mind and they quickly start talking about being excited to meet the boys and start shouting for boys to enter the Villa.
They don’t have to wait for long as host Maya Jama arrives and takes them to the firepit for a chat. Getting straight to the point, Maya asks them what each of their types are with Shakira saying: “Tall, muscly, nice smile but for me it’s all about personality. Witty, funny, charming.”
Helena laughs as she adds: “Personality always, my bar is low, I’m not fussy!”
Meg teases that she wants: “Tanned skin, taller and naughty eyes.”
Sophie says: “I want someone that’s a gentleman, not a man child.”
Megan says: “I’m easily charmed, which is the problem…”
Alima says she’s looking for: “A Prince Charming Disney Prince… with no facial hair.”

Maya Jama always looks incredible in the villa – and this year will be no different. Except there will be one big change.
All of Maya’s items she wears will be pre-loved, as the show tries to promote sustainability in fashion. This will also be true of the Islanders, with some of their outfits for the parties being pre-loved too.

A missing villain!
Don’t worry, we’re not talking about any members of Destiny’s Chaldish… they won’t be back either!
We don’t mean to alarm anyone but there’s something BIG missing from this year’s villa – the famous yellow beanbag!
Some of the Islanders have said they are “scared” of the infamous piece of furniture, which has “cursed” many people who have sat on there. In the 2022 series, Josh found himself dumped from the island days after sitting on the yellow bean bag, whilst Ekin-Su was confronted by the girls for game playing whilst sat on the infamous beanbag.
One less things the Islanders have to worry about this series at least!

You’ve got a pizza my heart!
For the first time ever, Islanders will be filmed eating. For years, we’ve never seen the Islanders enjoying their meals together.
There’s been the odd breakfast date – when someone’s done something wrong and is begging for forgiveness! – and the awkward group dinners where exes have to sit opposite their current partner as their former lover looks on.

Terrace changes!
The Love Island terrace – the pinnacle of ALL the drama!
And this year, it’s getting a huge change. Ekin-Su managed to crawl to the terrace to share a secret steamy kiss with another Islander, but there’s no chance of that happening this year.
The terrace walls have been pulled down and replaced with smaller fences. If any of our Islanders are thinking of sharing a secret smooch or a private word on the terrace, there’s nowhere to hide anymore!

Former Islanders are out!
If a former Love Island star who didn’t quite find love the first time around – and there’s quite a few! – were hoping for another chance at love, that’s looking unlikely, for now at least.
It has been confirmed that no former Islanders will be entering the villa this series – and no famous faces either. Joey Essex was one of the biggest bombshell arrivals one year, as well as former Islanders Kady McDermott and Adam Collard.

For the first time ever, we’ve found out the first bombshell to arrive in the Love Island villa – before the show even airs.
Las Vegas pool party VIP host Toni has crossed the Atlantic to find love this summer! Speaking about why she’s turned to the UK to find The One, she said: “I’ve lived in three different states and I’m still single. It’s time to try something new! I have some British friends and they’re pretty charming. I think all Americans love a good accent.
“British men are just more polite, with better manners … I have been to London. It was around Christmas time. We stayed in King’s Cross and it was gorgeous. It’s so diverse. Literally people from everywhere.”

Romeo Beckham ignored the family drama by taking to his Instagram page to share his love for his sister Harper. While the Beckham family take over the headlines for their feud with Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz, Romeo took a moment to share his appreciation for the youngest Beckham, Harper.
The 22-year-old recently called time on his relationship with Kim Turnbull, who was reportedly a big reason for the feud. Brooklyn was reportedly ‘uneasy’ about Romeo dating Kim, who was once close friends with the hot sauce enthusiast, and felt his parents were ‘favouring’ his younger brother, who was seen beaming in snaps from David Beckham’s 50th birthday.

Meanwhile, an insider recently claimed things remain ‘amicable’ between Romeo and Kim Turnbull, and insisted that their split had nothing to do with the bitter Beckham feud.

Robert Sugden’s recent scenes have left Emmerdale fans fearing the worst, amid hopes of a reunion with Aaron Dingle.
Ryan Hawley reprised his role in a shocking twist just weeks ago, six years after he left the ITV soap. His character Robert was sent to prison in 2019 over the death of Lee Posner, with it not thought he would ever come back.
But just weeks ago he turned up in the village to stop his ex Aaron marrying new flame, and Robert’s mysterious half-brother, John Sugden. More is to come out about Robert’s return and what’s been going on since he left, with scenes next week seeing Robert and Aaron have a heart-to-heart.
We know that Robert was released early, with it suggested this was down to him finally appealing his conviction after new evidence suggested he may not have caused Lee’s death, or at least his actions alone. He came to get Aaron back and return to life in the village having initially decided he wanted none of that.
But now some fans are fearing there could be more to it, and his sudden desire to come back to the village and be with Aaron. He’d learned about the truth about Lee’s death a while back, but only chose to appeal this year.

Then a scene with brother John in a recent episode saw him punched in the stomach after a fight broke out. Robert had swung a punch to hurt John but completely missed, only to then be hit by John.
Robert was clearly in pain and crouched over clutching his stomach. The camera focussed in on his face and his reaction to the punch, and it seemed it really hurt.
Some fans noticed this and wondered if it was almost an overreaction to the hit, and they worried if the pain was caused by something else. They were also shocked by Robert’s clumsy attack on John, with fans predicting there could be a health storyline on the cards.
While there is nothing in spoilers to suggest so, viewers are starting to fear over his real reason for leaving prison now and returning to the village after so long. They questioned if a sad health storyline could be on the way and that Robert could be sick.
One fan posted on X: “Not to write the scripts myself but it’s interesting Robert missed the punch that poorly and John’s punch to his gut really hurt him that he had to recover. Comparing it to how he used to always pick fights. Is Ryan finally getting a big health storyline?”

Another fan responded: “THIS IS WHAT IM SAYINGGGGGG,” as a third agreed: “I’m pretty certain he’ll have a mental health journey and possibly a drinking problem.” A fourth viewer commented: “Was it discussed why he was released early? Because his health being bad could be a reason why?”
A further comment read: “I kept noticing how they focused on his face. I have a theory that his early release could have been the unsafe conviction plus compassionate release for illness.”
Another post said: “I thought I was the only person to notice after the punch something seemed off. I feel this big secret is a health issue.” This was echoed by another viewer who said: “I thought that too. I think maybe something happened to Robert in prison. I think there’s a story to be told here.”

Former This Morning editor Martin Frizell has paid tribute to a former guest who is thought to have died in the Air India crash earlier today. It comes following the news of the fatal flight.
Fiongal Greenlaw, 39, and his husband Jamie Meek, 45, are thought to have been on board the flight, bound for London’s Gatwick Airport, which went down shortly after take-off. They are said to have been on holiday in India.
The couple co-founded a wellness brand together, which had been promoted on This Morning. Martin, 66, who had been the editor of the ITV show until he stepped down earlier this year, paid tribute in a post on Instagram this afternoon.
He included a photo of Fiongal alongside hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley in the studio. Martin wrote in the caption that he had a “vibrancy” and “sheer enthusiasm” when he had featured as a guest on the show back in January.

Martin wrote: “So so sad to hear that Fiongal Greenlaw Meek and his partner are reported to be among the passengers and crew killed today on board the Air India flight bound for Gatwick. I remember his visit to the studio in January, he was passionate about auras and although I’m a sceptical sort his vibrancy and sheer enthusiasm won folk over.”
He continued: “And I know for a fact that he hoped to use his appearance on This Morning to build his Wellness brand, he had a great future ahead of him. Thoughts are with his family and friends and those of his partner Jamie.”
Among those who have liked Martin’s post is Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid. Lisa Snowdon, who has appeared on the show on numerous occasions, reacted in the comments with a teary-eyed emoji and one of a broken heart.
Fiongal appeared as a guest on This Morning in January. During the episode, he gave hosts Ben and Cat a reading over their auras. Martin was still the editor of the long-running show at the time, prior to his final day in the role in February.
The guest later returned following Martin’s departure for another segment. He was brought back as a spiritual advisor on the show in April, with him appearing alongside Ben, Cat and Josie Gibson in the TV studio based in London.

After his first visit, a post shared by his wellness brand the Wellness Foundry on Instagram read: “So this happened … The biggest gig so far! Fiongal on This Morning – it was very nerve-wracking but he was honoured to chat about one of his favourite topics to such a big audience.”
In an apparent message for him, the post on the platform continued: “Thank you to everyone [at] This Morning for being so amazing and guiding me through. Thank you to [Cat and Ben] for being so kind and welcoming.”
Fiongal and Jamie are among those thought to have died in the plane crash earlier today. As previously reported, the couple had posted a video from Ahmedabad airport just moments before boarding the plane.
They had been visiting India together. In the video shared from the airport, Fiongal and Jamie were seen smiling as they prepared to fly home. They are said to have spoken about their time away together in the video message.
In the clip, Fiongal reportedly says: “We are at the airport just boarding. Goodbye India. Ten-hour flight back to England. What was your biggest takeaway Jamie?” Jamie replies: “I don’t know.” It prompts laughter from Fiongal, who responds to his husband: “Thanks for your contribution.”
Fiongal then teases that his takeaway was “don’t lose your patience with your partner”. Jamie replies: “You snapped at me at the airport for having chai.” Surrounded by fellow travellers, the clip ends with Fiongal saying he’s returning to the UK “happily, happily calm”.
The local council gives a ‘prior determination notification’ so that he can construct a barn for hay and equipment despite earlier protest from neighbours

David Beckham has won his latest battle with neighbours over plans for his rural retreat. Local planners have issued a ‘prior determination notification’ which states that he can construct a barn for hay, straw and agricultural equipment – despite opposition. One exasperated local complained: ‘Why do famous people move to the country… then make silly alterations?’ The England legend was seeking planning permission for the timber-clad structure at the £6m property in the Cotswolds.
Beckham, 50, keeps bees and chickens at his country bolthole which has a giant lake. His representatives asked planners at West Oxfordshire District Council for the right to create an “agricultural storage barn for hay/straw and agricultural equipment”. Angry villager Harriet Jones had told the council in a letter of objection.
She did not name David Beckham but made a reference to ‘famous people’ moving to the country: “This is just the latest in a long line of applications to build new structures on this land, plus a giant lake. Why do famous people move out to the country and then clutter up their land with endless buildings and make silly alterations? It makes no sense.” The plans reveal the building will have a steel frame covered in wood with a metal roof which will measure 10m by 5m. Planners will decide on the merits of the application in the coming weeks. Two years ago, David and his wife Victoria were given planning permission to transform the property near Chipping Norton, which they bought for £6m in 2016.

The star has just been named as the latest guest editor of a magazine long regarded as the hunting, shooting and fishing set’s house journal.
He follows in the footsteps of the King who has twice guest-edited Country Life.
He filled the role for his 65th birthday in 2013 and his 70th in 2018.

David Walliams reportedly gave Nazi salutes while recording BBC panel show Would I Lie To You?
The 53-year-old, who left Britain’s Got Talent in 2022 after making comments about the ITV show’s contestants, is reported to have made the gesture twice during the filming of the show’s Christmas special on Tuesday.
He is reported to have made the salutes while his teammate on the show, Call The Midwife’s Helen George, was telling a story about her experience on Strictly Come Dancing, in which she said she sprained her wrist from “waving too much during the Strictly tour”.
She was told by the opposing team, who she was trying to convince that her story was true, that her wave was “too little”, which is said to have led to Walliams joining in with a more vigorous wave which ended in a Nazi salute.
Walliams, whose real name is David Edward Williams, was reportedly told off for the gesture by host Rob Brydon, before then performing another salute with a sexual connotation after some light-hearted lewd jokes about George’s time on Strictly.
The Times, who first reported the story, said team captain Lee Mack looked distinctly unimpressed by the incident.

One person, who the newspaper says was a part of the audience during the show’s filming, posted on X: “I didn’t have David Walliams doing a Nazi salute at the Would I Lie To You? Christmas taping on my 2025 bingo card.”
It is understood that footage of the incident will not be broadcast.
Walliams left Britain’s Got Talent after he was caught making “disrespectful comments” during breaks in filming about auditioning contestants in January 2020 at the London Palladium.
Fremantle, which produces the ITV talent show, apologised after the comments were leaked and reached an “amicable resolution” with Walliams after he sued the company for misuse of private information and breaching data law.
A spokesperson for Banijay UK, which owns Would I Lie To You? production company Zeppotron, said: “Any attempt at humour regarding this deeply offensive gesture, whether broadcast or not, is completely unacceptable in any context.
“It was immediately acknowledged during the recording that this segment would not be broadcast under any circumstances and we apologise to those who were at the recording for any offence caused.”
A BBC spokesman told the Mirror: “The use of such an offensive gesture is completely unacceptable and we apologise to all at the recording for the offence caused.”
Representatives for Walliams have been contacted for comment.

Loose Women made a splash when it returned on Wednesday (11 June). Christine Lampard led the panel and was joined by Janet Street Porter, GK Barry, and Jane Moore.
In the latest edition, the team tackled a medley of hot topics and chatted with stars like Joanna Page and Liz McClarnon.
At one point, the discussion turned to the contrasts between type A and type B personalities, especially in terms of how they prepare for holidays versus their normal routines.
After Grace shared tales from her recent trip with partner Ella Rutherford, Janet couldn’t resist teasing Christine about her own vacation snaps with hubby Frank Lampard.
“Christine’s grilling you about this, but the pictures of her on holiday last weekend, I was looking at,” Janet said. “Now, before we talk about type A or type B, can we just talk about your husband’s physique?”

The studio erupted into laughter at the question, and Janet confessed she’d even shown her other half the photos of the ex-Chelsea star due to his impressive shape, reports Belfast Live.
With a comedic jab, Janet said: “Pictures of Frank online, diving into the pool, flab-free! I said to my partner, ‘Look at Frank Lampard. He’s not six months pregnant.”
Christine, giggling and somewhat mortified, hit back: “Janet! I tell you what, Janet’s taken up four minutes there just talking about Frank Lampard!”
Christine provided a glimpse into her marriage by complimenting her husband, with whom she has two children, for being “incredibly good” at planning trips and holidays due to his affinity for organisation.

She stated: “Now, to give Frank his physique, and his personality dues, he is A type. He is incredibly good at organising things, and it’s a bit like you just described there.
“He’s very good, and I think it’s just his personality. It’s what he’s always been like. He likes planning; he likes an itinerary. He likes to have everything booked. He has no problem taking care of everything.”
The couple, who started dating in 2009 and married in December 2015, have a son and daughter together, and Christine also acts as stepmother to Frank’s two daughters from a previous relationship.
