There’s plenty more drama on the way for Coronation Street detectives Lisa Swain and Kit Green.

The pair have constantly clashed over the past few months, with Kit’s dodgy policing not exactly going down well with colleague Lisa too. But it’s been teased they could come to an understanding, and the loss of their fellow officer Craig Tinker, who was murdered, could see Lisa be more “protective” of Kit.

Actress Vicky Myers spoke exclusively to The Mirror about what’s ahead, addressing the pair’s relationship and likening it to siblings bickering. She confessed underneath it all, Lisa did care for Kit and the pair were similar, with this being why they likely clash on the job.

With fans often slamming “corrupt” detective Kit for his secret crimes and wrong ways of handling things, Vicky told us that Lisa was keen to “put Kit in line” when needed.

She revealed: “I think there’s definitely more drama ahead between them. But I think after what has happened with Tinker, Lisa really feels like she is this protector.

“She sees something in Kit that reminds her of herself but equally, she frustrates him and he does her. She knows not everything he does is above board and it doesn’t sit well with her.”

Vicky went on of them both having done things they shouldn’t in the past: “He has something on her so it all get a little bit conflicted, but underneath it all she sees him very much as a younger brother that needs putting in line every now and again.” So there’s definitely more scenes on the way for Kit and Lisa, with episodes this week certainly leaving fans wanting more.

We also asked Vicky about the looming 65th anniversary for the ITV soap, and that crossover with Emmerdale. She shared: “I’m very excited, for the crossover in particular.

“I am surprised that it’s not been done sooner or before at all. The whole thought of it is exciting. What’s gonna happen I don’t know exactly. I don’t know the story or where it will be.

“There’s lots of unanswered questions but the fact it’s happening, for the cast, the crew and the viewers it is gonna be spectacular. It’s been a long time coming. What a year to celebrate that with it being our 65th!”

We also got the lowdown on all things Swarla, with Vicky hoping for more scenes between Lisa and Carla with their “extended family” and in their community. She felt “privileged” to be part of something that people could see themselves in and relate to.

She said: “It’s very much part of the community, it’s great that people can see themselves and see their family on TV. It represents them and they can relate to them and everything they have to navigate. I’m so pleased to have been able to show that. What a privilege it is that I am a part of that.”

Coronation Street viewers think they know who reported Maria Connor to the police after a showdown with Lou Michaelis, with someone close to home tipped to be to blame

There was drama on Coronation Street on Friday night, as a showdown between Maria Connor and Lou Michaelis ended with an arrest.

Maria was horrified when the police came to take her away, with her accused of actual bodily harm. She’d been caught up in a fight with Lou after spotting her trying to steal from Shona Platt.

Her attempt to stop her led to Lou taking a tumble, slamming into a coffee table. As the camera panned back to her she was laying on the floor covered in blood and cuts, with glass everywhere.

She accused Maria of pushing her on purpose, telling the others she had been attacked. As Maria’s partner Gary Windass helped Lou onto her feet, Maria claimed it was an accident and that while she did grab Lou, Lou had tripped over.

With Maria not being believed by some of her neighbours, Gary headed to the hospital with Lou while he begged her not to get the police involved. Gary made it clear he didn’t think it was an accident, telling Maria she needed to apologise.

Maria then accused him of getting too close to Lou, with fans also predicting Lou was trying to get closer to Gary. Gary claimed she was lying about Lou trying to steal money, and also lying about what really happened.

She accused him of fancying her and it led to a row. Things got awkward later on, with Sarah Platt backing Maria and agreeing with her side of the story.

It wasn’t enough though as the police entered the pub and arrested her. But while the obvious culprit behind the report was Lou herself, fans were not convinced.

With upcoming spoilers suggesting Lou denies being involved, fans think they know who really told the police – with an affair plot sealed. Viewers suggested it was Gary behind the call after her refusal to own up and apologise.

They think Gary wants Maria out of the way so he can embark on a romance with Lou. Taking to X, one fan suggested: “Gotta be Gary turning Maria in! Lou doesn’t wanna deal with all that, but Gary’s getting so fed up.”

Another fan agreed: “It definitely wasn’t Lou, it was either Gary because he’s sick of it or someone trying to make it look like it was Lou.” A third viewer posted: “Does anyone else think it was Gary who reported Maria to the police? Is he going to have an affair with Lou?”

A further post read: “Maybe he just wanted Maria out the way,” as another fan commented: “Wtf has Gary dobbed Maria to the rozzers?” As for the affair, one fan suggested: “I’m here for Gary and Lou!” as another fan commented: “Gary and Lou affair impending.”

The Loose Women star, 65, whipped up the dish after a ‘very long’ Pilates session this week – the recipe is very straight-forward

Ruth Langsford has shared a quick salad recipe with fans that’s ideal for a simple lunch. The 65-year-old Loose Women star mentioned that she made it after a ‘very long’ Pilates session this week, showcasing the dish on Instagram.

“Quick, lunch for one,” she wrote. “Did Pilates this morning with @siobhanklloyd after a VERY long time so I thought I’d better follow up with a healthy lunch!”

If you’re eager to try Ruth’s recipe, here are the eight essential ingredients she used.

    One portion

        Lettuce

        Chopped cucumber

        Avocado slices

        M&S Seafood Sauce

        Cooked prawns

        A small volume of milk

        A sprinkle of black pepper

      A sprinkle of paprika

To kickstart her recipe, Ruth first chopped her ingredients off-camera before throwing the lettuce, chopped cucumber and lettuce into a dish. She then placed her cooked prawns in a separate bowl before coating them in a generous spoonful of the M&S Seafood sauce.

Once thoroughly mixed together, she popped the prawns on top of the salad in her serving dish. However, she then realised that a little more dressing was needed.

In light of this, she blended more of the seafood sauce with a tiny splash of milk in another separate bowl. She said this helped to loosen the dressing, which she subsequently drizzled over the salad.

The TV star’s recipe was quickly showered by comments from fans, with many complementing her straight-forward but delicious-seeming recipe. One person wrote: “Love this Ruth. Looks delicious and healthy.”

Another person added: “Looks lovely Ruth . Great tasty lunch,” while someone else said: “I need that now please.”

  • EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Zoe Slater’s ‘return storyline’ – and it’s bad news for Vicki

EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Zoe Slater’s ‘return storyline’ – and it’s bad news for Vicki

EastEnders fans were over the moon when it was reported Michelle Ryan would be reprising her role as Zoe Slater, as they think they’ve ‘worked out’ her return storyline

    Zoe Slater

BBC’s EastEnders fans were over the moon last month when suggested Michelle Ryan could be returning to Albert Square. The 41-year-old TV star famously played Zoe Slater on the BBC soap from 2000 until 2005, and appearing in 559 episodes.

Zoe’s return isn’t the only one that’s been reported. Other classic characters including Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) both rumoured to make their comebacks later this year. With the exciting news, fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter to predict how they’ll be making their return – if the rumours are confirmed.

The character was involved in one of the most explosive and iconic moments of soap history – when she dismissively told Jessie Wallace’s Kat Slater that she couldn’t order her around, famously barking: “You ain’t my mother!” Only for Kat to deliver the explosive response: “Yes I am!”

However, some EastEnders fans don’t think Zoe’s back to see Kat – but Ross and Joel Marshall instead. Vicki Fowler’s partner and stepson joined the soap with her when she returned in February for Martin Fowler’s funeral.

Teen Joel has been causing trouble since he arrived – as his dark secrets have been revealed. However, one thing fans don’t know about Joel is the identity of his mother.

Now, fans believe it could be Zoe. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “Zoe left in 2005, Joel is 15/16 at present which means he was born 2009/2010. Zoe did move to Spain and had a job selling houses.

“Ross could have been a builder on the houses when they met and had a brief relationship resulting in Joel and something happened ending in a separation with Ross taking Joel.”

EastEnders fans are predicting a dark twist on the way for teen Joel Marshall

The fan theory then recalls how Kat found out that Zoe was engaged in 2015. Zoe was also “on the run” for the murder of Den Watts – with the fan theory suspecting: “she could have adopted a false identity & done a runner leaving Joel with Ross,” – with Vicki never meeting Ross’ ex-wife.

Another fan penned: “I saw a theory saying that Joel might be Zoe’s son. I don’t know if that’s possible but I feel there’s lots of potential with that theory coming true.”

Many other fans were onboard with the theory, with one writing: “Oh that is interesting!” as another said: “I feel that Joel and Ross with the way they have been developed feels like they might be related to someone we know,” although they had their suspicions that Zoe could be “too much of a coincidence.”

Speaking on Michelle’s potential return to the soap last month, a source told The Sun: “Bosses have repeatedly reached out to Michelle over the years, but the timing has never been quite right.

“People are still talking about her character, so it’s a real coup to bring her back. She feels like now is the perfect moment — and there was an exciting script on the table.”

A spokesperson for the BBC offered “no comment” when asked about the reports of Michelle’s return.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

This Morning aviation experts say ‘every incident it gets safer’ after Air India tragedy

After the tragic Air India Flight 171 crash killed over 200 people, aviation experts are reassuring viewers on This Morning that aviation is still one of the safest ways to travel

Two aviation experts have spoken out following the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171, which killed at least 241 people on board and eight more on the ground, insisting that air travel remains one of the safest modes of transport.

Airline Captain Emma Henderson MBE appeared on ITV’s This Morning, telling viewers that while plane-related tragedies are devastating, they remain incredibly rare. She said: “Of course there is a risk when you go into a metal container that is seven miles above the planet.

“There is an element of risk to everything we do, but it is still more dangerous to ride your bike down the street or to get in a car than it is to fly on an aircraft.”

    Commentator on This Morning
One woman emphasised the dangers of travelling by bike or car in comparison to flying(Image: ITV)

She continued to defend air travel, adding: “What doesn’t make the news is the boring story of the aircraft taking off, flying where it’s supposed to, and landing again. We do learn in aviation from the mistakes that have happened or design errors that have happened. Whatever the findings are from this investigation, procedures will be put in place to make sure this can never happen again.”

Meanwhile, Captain Mike Davis insisted: “There’s been learning since the dawn of aviation. Things happen, procedures are set in place, design changes are made to prevent it happening again. So every incident, it gets safer.”

The expert comments come in the wake of one of the worst aviation disasters since the tragic 9/11 terror attacks. Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad just minutes after take-off on Thursday (June 12).

The aircraft issued a mayday call moments before vanishing from radar, with the captain saying: “Mayday… no thrust, losing power, unable to lift.”

Eyewitnesses captured harrowing footage of the plane descending nose-up before exploding in a massive fireball. There were 241 passengers on board along with crew members.

The crash also claimed the lives of eight people on the ground, including medical students and their family members living in nearby buildings.

British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, miraculously survived the crash. He has spoken to press from the hospital, saying: “The lights started flickering — green and white — then the plane rammed into some establishment… I saw people dying in front of my eyes. I don’t know how I survived.”

His family in Leicester said they were “devastated” to learn of the crash and shocked that Vishwash made it out alive. He has been treated for facial injuries and was pictured being comforted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a hospital visit.

Former This Morning editor Martin Frizell has paid tribute to a former guest on the show, wellness coach Fiongal Greenlaw, who is feared to have died in the crash along with his husband Jamie Meek.

Martin said Fiongal was “vibrant and full of enthusiasm” during his appearance on the ITV show, adding: “Thoughts are with his family and friends and those of his partner Jamie.”

Investigators are hoping to find out what exactly caused the catastrophic engine failure after recovering a black box from the Air India Flight 171.

This Morning hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond have paid tribute to a former guest who is thought to have been onboard the fatal Air India flight which crashed yesterday

This Morning hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond have paid tribute to a former guest who is thought to have tragically died in the Air India crash yesterday.

Fiongal Greenlaw, 39, appeared on the show back in January. He was seen speaking to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about his wellness brand, which he founded with his husband Jamie Meek, 45. Jamie is also thought have been on board the flight, which went down shortly after take-off. They are said to have been on holiday in India.

At the start of today’s show, Dermott and Alison paid tribute to the star, announcing: “Fiongal appeared on the show twice this year. We loved his energy that he brought to the studio.”

Fiongal was onboard the plane with his husband Jamie. The couple posted videos online about the flight just before boarding. Our thoughts and our prayers go to their loved ones, and all those affected by this terrible tragedy.”

It comes after former This Morning editor Martin Frizell paid tribute to the star on Instagram last night, following news of the flight bound for London’s Gatwick Airport.

Alongside a photo of Fiongal with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley in the studio back in January, Martin penned: “So so sad to hear that Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek and his partner are reported to be among the passengers and crew killed today on board the Air India flight bound for Gatwick.

“I remember his visit to the studio in January, he was passionate about auras and although I’m a sceptical sort his vibrancy and sheer enthusiasm won folk over,” he concluded.

After the on-air tribute, This Morning took to their Instagram account to post another said tribute to the star. “Our thoughts are with Fiongal and Jamie’s families and friends following the devastating Air India plane crash,” they wrote alongside a picture of the star with Cat, Ben and Josie.

“Fiongal appeared on the show twice this year and we all loved the energy he brought to the studio. From everyone at This Morning we are sending our deepest condolences to all those affected by this horrific disaster.”

Of the 242 people onboard the plane, 241 are feared to have lost their life, including 52 from the UK. It makes the devastating crash the worst aviation disaster involving British nationals since the 9/11 attacks.

Coronation Street fan theory predicts Lou will sleep with Gary in blackmail plot

    Maria better watch out

Anew Coronation Street fan theory predicts that Gary will cheat on Maria with Lou Michaelis in a blackmail twist.

Lou and Gary have formed a friendship recently despite Maria making her disapproval clear.

And, now, fans are concerned that this friendship might cross a line as Lou mentioned ‘doing anything for her kids.’

Gary Windass and Lou Michaelis’ friendship in Coronation Street

Despite Lou’s husband killing PC Craig Tinker, Lou’s not let that stop her from forming a friendship with Gary Windass (who Mick actually beat up too).

With Gary and Lou both bonding over being victims to Mick’s violent side, Gary’s been looking out for his new friend and advising her on how to get on the right side of the community.

This week, new fan-favourite Lou Michaelis thanked Gary for helping her sell Mick’s van. As she visited Mick in the prison, Mick suggested she’d been seeing Gary but Lou told him nothing was going on between them. Gary was just the only person in Weatherfield who seemed to care about her.

But, with Lou then mentioning that she’d do anything for her kids, and with Gary acting secretive over Lou’s text messages when around Maria, fans have wondered whether something might happen between the pair.

Coronation Street fan theory predicts Gary and Lou blackmail twist

A new fan theory predicts that Gary and Lou will sleep together. But, with Lou then needing money to look after her kids and with Mick being behind bars, she might then blackmail Gary.

That way she’ll get paid for her silence, keeping their encounter a secret from Maria.

One fan predicted: “I have a feeling Lou will sleep with Gary and then blackmail him for cash.”

Another wondered: “Mick’s right about Lou wanting the cash from Gary.”

A third person on X contributed: “‘Mick you know I’d never do the dirty on ya.’ A GARY & LOU AFFAIR PENDING!” But, are they right?

No more ‘come on Eileen’ jokes

After 25 years on the cobbles, tonight’s episode (Friday, June 6) saw Eileen Grimshaw leave Coronation Street for a fresh start in Thailand.

She bid the Street goodbye and joined Jason in a taxi as she headed to the airport for her new venture.

But, as Sue Cleaver departs from the ITV soap, what is she up to next?

    Eileen’s exit in Coronation Street

This evening, Eileen decided to take Jason up on his offer and help him run his bar in Thailand.

With Eileen now being a free woman without the risk of prison hanging over her for Julie’s death, she was ready to go on holiday to Thailand without the stress.

But, George didn’t think that was a good idea anymore. He thought Eileen was kidding herself into thinking their relationship was working, prompting her to make the decision to leave Weatherfield without him and move to Thailand permanently.

She told George she loved him like a friend instead of romantically, with George thanking her for her honesty and telling her he was staying put.

Eileen then packed her bags and said her goodbyes to everyone, making Todd Grimshaw promise that he’d come and visit them.

She and Jason then got into a taxi and headed off to the airport.

Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver’s next career move

Speaking on Loose Women a couple of months ago, Sue Cleaver revealed that she was ‘ready to get out of her comfort zone.’

She shared: “This is my decade. I’m more excited about this decade, hopefully you know, as long as I remain well, that this is going to be the most exciting decade for me. I’m really excited.”

In December this year, she’s set to switch the cobbles for the stage as she appears in panto. She’ll be starring as Mrs Potty in Beauty and the Beast at Hull New Theatre alongside Paul Chuckle.

But, as she excitedly looks forward to new adventures and opportunities, could she ever return as Eileen in the future? It is possible…

Speaking to the Mirror, Sue shared: “There was always the risk that they might have killed me off, but they were supportive and said ‘Eileen’s a big part of the show.’ They asked what kind of ending I wanted, and I said I didn’t want to call it a day, because I love the place. I said I wanted a happy ending. Basically, the journey Eileen is taking is pretty much what I’m choosing to do.”

Seventeen years after surviving an acid attack, English television personality Katie Piper admits that she’s never fully been “discharged” from medical care.

The 41-year-old panelist for British talk show Loose Women recently spoke to the Mirror and opened up about her recovery over the years and her desire to get to a point where she’s healthy again.

“I’m never discharged. I have to go back for my eyes, nose, and throat,” she said. “I learned at such a young age the value of looking after your mind, your body, how our health is a privilege and how it can suddenly change.”

“I’ve had this unique experience as a 20-something where I know what it is like to be incapacitated, to be ill, to be in hospital for a long time,” she explained. “I always take myself back to that memory of ‘Do all this now, so when you are older, your quality of life is the best it can be.’

“I want to be healthy,” she added. “I take looking after my body as a job. I want the best from it.”

On Jan. 10, Piper announced on Instagram that she is getting an “artificial eye” because the acid attack left her partially blind. She said she “reached the end of [the] road somewhat, and the decision has been made to try a prosthetic eye shell after “many years battling with my eye health.”

“This marks the start of a journey to have an artificial eye, with an incredible medical team behind me,” Piper wrote. “As always I’m incredibly grateful to all those in the NHS [National Health Service] and private health care system for their talent and kindness.”

Piper added that she would detail her “journey” and that she’s “hopeful and nervous” about the change.

“[I] would love to hear from any of you in the comments if you’ve been on this journey or have any advice,” she wrote, including a video of her fitted with the prosthetic.

Piper’s latest health decision comes 17 years after a March 2008 acid attack arranged by an ex, when she suffered severe burns and was left blind in one eye.

In the years since she has worked as a motivational speaker and television presenter and has launched a foundation. She also released a memoir, Beautiful, in 2011.

TikTok Took Over My Life – And Made Me Rich”: Meet the Women Who Transformed Their Lives Live on This Morning

Laura Malows, Dominique Bogle, and Jane Hastings — three ordinary women, now extraordinary entrepreneurs thanks to TikTok Shop.

TikTok — the platform once known for dance trends, lip-syncing teens, and viral memes — has now become a commerce colossus, quietly transforming lives and bank accounts with its latest innovation: TikTok Shop.
Meet the women who’ve turned followers into fortunes and “Lives” into livelihoods. In their hands, TikTok isn’t just social media — it’s social enterprise.

💄 From Baby Bottles to Beauty Empire: The Rise of Laura Malows

For Laura Malows, it all started during maternity leave. Just three weeks after giving birth, she received a chilling call from her accountant:

“You’re about to lose your business if you don’t act fast.”

Her company, once thriving on body scrubs and shea butters, was on the brink. But salvation came not in the form of a bank loan — but a phone call from TikTok.

“They said, ‘You can make an extra £10,000 a month if you go live,’ and honestly, I had no other option.”

Fast forward four years, Laura now earns £250,000 a month — yes, a month — by going live on TikTok, showcasing her beauty products from her warehouse late into the night.

“I’d be breastfeeding in the day and packing orders with my phone propped up at night. The algorithm didn’t care if I was a small business. I had the same visibility as the big brands.”

The turning point? A “Mega Live” in July where she raked in £200,000 in just one day. TikTok flew in a production crew, set up a massive screen to track live revenue, and watched in awe as numbers ticked higher.

Laura’s TikTok Shop “Mega Live” setup — the night she earned £200,000 in 24 hours.

“The adrenaline was unreal. But the best moment? FaceTiming my customers to tell them they’d won a Gucci bag or iPhone — and seeing my brand’s products already on their shelves. That’s when I knew we’d built a real community.”

👩‍🦲 Losing Hair, Gaining Power: Dominique Bogle’s Wig Revolution

Dominique Bogle never intended to become a TikTok titan. But a personal health battle changed everything. At 21, she developed alopecia, leading to significant hair loss. The experience was isolating and confusing — until she realized she wasn’t alone.

“I thought, if I’m going through this, surely other women are too. So I started sourcing manufacturers for high-quality wigs that didn’t cost a fortune.”

Juggling a demanding corporate job at HSBC by day, Dominique turned to TikTok at night. Her kitchen became her studio. Her phone, her storefront.

“I started with a ring light and a dream. Eight months in, I quit my job. Now we’re doing £60,000 to £70,000 a month, minimum.”

The wigs — synthetic, but virtually indistinguishable from real hair — empower women to regain confidence, change their looks effortlessly, or simply explore self-expression.

Her brand now employs family, including her mother who also left her job to join Dominique’s growing empire.

“TikTok didn’t just change my life — it changed my family’s life. We just signed for a new warehouse!”

🧸 Toy Story 2.0: How Jane Hastings Went Viral with Playthings

For Jane Hastings, toys aren’t child’s play — they’re serious business.

“I used to stare into toy shop windows as a kid. Now, I own the one everyone’s watching.”

Her brick-and-mortar store struggled, like many, in the post-COVID retail landscape. But TikTok? It exploded.

It all started in June 2024, when she featured the Interactive FX Stitch — Toy of the Year — during a live session. The orders came faster than she could blink.

“I pressed the ‘go live’ button with no clue what I was doing. Now we can’t even fit all the inventory in our current shop!”

Even local Premier League footballers noticed. Stars like Darwin Núñez and Luis Díaz from Liverpool FC now swing by regularly — not for exclusives at Selfridges, but for glitter slime and talking plushies.

“We lock the doors, give them privacy. Last week they even used our TikTok studio to take selfies!”

    📲 What’s the Secret Sauce?

So what’s behind these astonishing success stories?

It isn’t luck. It isn’t even perfect marketing. It’s authenticity.

“People don’t want polish. They want real,” Jane emphasizes.
“You could have the best product, but if you’re stiff on camera, it won’t connect.”

TikTok’s algorithm doesn’t just reward followers — it rewards engagement. That means any seller, from a Liverpool toy shop to a mom on maternity leave, has equal footing with billion-dollar brands.

The platform offers a direct line to consumers, with features like:

📦 Live selling with instant product links

    💬 Real-time Q&A with customers

🎁 Hourly giveaways to boost retention

🔄 Algorithmic reach beyond just followers

💥 The TikTok Shop Takeover Has Only Just Begun

TikTok Shop has reshaped not only how we sell — but who gets to sell. It’s removed gatekeepers, slashed startup costs, and handed the megaphone to creators who otherwise might never get a shot.

Laura, Dominique, and Jane aren’t just entrepreneurs. They’re pioneers of a new digital frontier where passion, purpose, and a smartphone are all you need to build a business.

So the next time you scroll past a TikTok Live of someone waving glitter or combing a wig — don’t dismiss it.

You might just be watching the next millionaire in the making.
