Monday night is set to be a huge night in EastEnders for Ben Wadey’s first episode in charge and fans have ‘worked out’ which huge character could be returning to the soap

After Chris Clenshaw’s final episode aired last night, EastEnders were left with some very exciting news. On Monday – to mark Ben Wadey’s first episode, the soap will simulcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7.30pm. The last time this happened was during the 40th anniversary live week in Feburary – so fans can expect something big.

But that’s not all, to go alongside the announcement, EastEnders released a promo video of a door opening on the Square with the caption: “Knock Knock. Who’s there?” Fans now believe there’s a huge return for one character, and they think they’ve ‘worked out’ who.

Along with the announcement, new Executive Producer Ben Wadey teased: “Next week marks the start of something big in Walford that we hope will get everyone talking, and it’s only just the beginning. We’ve got twists, shocks, and plenty of drama lined up for a summer you don’t want to miss.”

In the promo video, the door that opens has number 14 on it. Could this be a huge clue? Many fans seem to think so. Taking to the Instagram post, one fan questioned: “What’s the 14 significance?!”

One penned: “Searched who left 14 years ago and it was Jim Branning, who unfortunately cannot return. Butttttttt Tanya Branning left 14 years ago too so I think it’s the return of OSCAR BRANNING,” as another wrote: “Max and Oscar.”

Recently, pictures were released of a grown boy filming with Lauren, with many believing it was Oscar. Jake Wood has also been rumoured to make a return as the iconic, troubled Max Branning – could it be as soon as Monday?

Others were certain it was Max returning, as one penned: “Max did 14 years if you minus his gap year,” with a third simply writing: “Max is back!”

Spoilers for Monday reveal Alfie receives a phone call from Stacey Slater – although no context was given. No EastEnders fan could ever forget the infamous affair between Max and Stacey – so could it link to this?

However, other fans believe it could be the return of Zoe Slater, following Kat and Alfie’s big day. It was recently reported that Michelle Ryan would be reprising her role as Zoe, and fans think now is the perfect time.

“I have a feeling that this will either be a Zoe Slater return or a Max Branning return. Either way it’s going to be big,” wrote one, as another said: “Zoe return? Would tie in with Kat and Alfie getting married the previous day. Not sure where she’s supposed to be at the moment but maybe missed her flight or something and was planning a surprise wedding appearance.”

“The spoilers for the 16th, says that Alfie is hiding something, and Kat & Alfie have just got married. So I guess it’s Zoe returning on Monday,” penned another.

Many theories have been floating around about Zoe’s return with some believing she could be Joel Marshall’s mum.

Viewers of Emmerdale, especially Robron fans, may finally get some answers next week amid Robert Sugden’s abrupt return.

In “emotional” scenes the character is reunited with his ex Aaron Dingle, six years after he left the village and just weeks after he failed to stop Aaron from marrying John Sugden. An episode next week featuring just a few cast members could see truths come to light, with fans set to see moments they’ve been waiting for for six long years – some scenes our Mirror soap insider revealed would be “exactly what Robron fans have wanted for so long”.

Robert left the soap in 2019 after being sent to prison, and only recently actor Ryan Hawley reprised the role and confirmed a permanent return. New spoilers for next week have confirmed that after a week or so away Robert was back on screen.

Not only that but there’s moving scenes with Aaron at the prison as well as drama with John, before Robert heads back to the village. Just months after his exit Robert had called for a divorce and cut Aaron and even his sister Victoria Sugden out of his life.

So we have absolutely no idea what life has been like for Robert in prison, and what’s gone on in that time. It’s been teased he could be harbouring secrets and a story about those six years he was offscreen for.

Some of these things could well come out next week, as Ryan has promised viewers will learn a thing or two. With Ryan hinting at tense and dark scenes with John and then tear-jerking scenes with Robert and Aaron, he promised “big” moments ahead.

Aaron initially doesn’t want to visit Robert in prison, and when he does he’s left torn over secretly meeting with him behind John’s back. There’s soon a declaration of love, before a sad decision is made.

Our soap insider teased: “It’s the moment Robron fans have waited for for so long. Robert and Aaron back onscreen together, and giving us hope that a reconciliation could be on the cards.

“Robert wastes no time in telling Aaron he loves him, which leaves Aaron torn but also confused given Robert brutally ended things all those years ago. Aaron is keen to avoid any drama though, and devastates Robert with his decision that John is the man for him. But is he being true to his feelings?”

It seems there’s some emotional moments as the exes talk things through, with plenty of things to be revealed in the scenes that fans will just have to watch and find out. It’s safe to say John isn’t happy when he finds out though, and soon battle lines are drawn for the warring brothers.

“John fears he’s losing Aaron to Robert, and he’s not prepared to let it happen,” shared our insider. “As Robert vows to return to the village where John has now set up a life with Aaron and Victoria, tensions simmer and some nasty jibes are made – not to mention a sinister threat that could see Robert edge closer to the truth about his criminal ways.”

As Robert makes his unwelcome return to the village, as far as Aaron and John are concerned, there’s soon hints that Robert may need time to settle back in. “Victoria is worried about how Robert is coping after his six years locked up, and she urges him to face up to his trauma if he stands a chance of staying on the right track,” teased our source.

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes seem ready to take another step in their budding romance as they could open the doors to their private lives. The couple have had fans gripped with their unlikely relationship after meeting in the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this year.

They struck up a surprise romance when JoJo broke up with her girlfriend Kath Ebbs at the show’s wrap party. Since then, JoJo, 22, and Chris, 32, have been getting to know each other on the outside world with them flying across the pond to be together.

A fresh indication Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could return to the public duties – the “biggest hint yet” – has reportedly left royal sources “utterly bewildered”.

Much of what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said and done since they quit public duties five years ago is said to have astonished members of the Royal Household. These include their accusations of racism against unnamed members of the family and Meghan’s recent posting of a video which showed her “twerking” in the maternity ward before the birth of Lillibet.

Now sources close to the Sussexes have disclosed details about passport applications for both Prince Archie, six, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet. It is thought the applications include the titles HRH (His /Her Royal Highness) as well as the surname Sussex, and this is reportedly because Harry and Meghan want their kids to decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life when they get older.

This has been seen by some insiders as “the biggest hint” the Duke and Duchess may want to return to The Firm. Richard Eden, a royal reporter with the Daily Mail, writes in today’s edition: “The suggestion gives the biggest hint yet that they’re hoping to mend fences.

“And it raises the question: Could the Sussexes, who chose to give up boring old public duties to seek their fortune in the US, stage a return to the royal fold via their children?”

The original revelation was reported in The Guardian last week. The newspaper read: “The Guardian understands that Prince Harry wants to keep the HRH titles for his children so that when they grow older they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life.”

Insiders have reacted with shock and scepticism, following Harry and Meghan’s exploits and bombshells since moving to the US. Mr Eden writes: “‘I find this very hard to understand,’ one royal source told me this week… ‘Harry and Meghan apparently found official duties and life within the Royal Family unbearable, yet they want this for their children. It doesn’t make sense.’

“It’s true that the Sussexes have devoted much time and energy to publicising their unhappiness with royal life. It’s hard to forget Harry’s grin on a video as he described their ‘freedom flight’ to Los Angeles when they began their American adventure in 2020.”

Meghan last week spoke about possibly running a company with her daughter, Lilibet, in the future. However, a source recently told PEOPLE that Meghan is focused on the future and is “very business about it” while Harry reportedly has “one foot in the past”.

The Royal Family have turned out in full force today (June 14) to mark the official birthday of the monarch, with Kate Middleton and her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis departing from the Palace by carriage.

Prince William and Princess Anne were seen following the King’s carriage on horseback as the parade proceeded down the Mall towards Horse Guard’s Parade.

As cameras captured the event, Charles appeared to be engaged in a lively chat with Queen Camilla.

Lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman provided an intriguing interpretation of Charles’ words. The King is said to have begun with: “Absolutely crazy, disgrace, absolutely extraordinary.”

While Jeremy couldn’t decipher the entire conversation, he did catch the King saying “on my way out”, followed by: “Meanwhile, not like me. That’s the difference between me and him.”

The identity of who Charles was referring to remains uncertain, but the comments emerge amid a contentious dispute with his estranged brother Prince Andrew over the fate of Royal Lodge.

Today’s Trooping the Colour ceremony was marked by a solemn tribute. Following the catastrophic Air India crash claiming 241 lives, His Majesty called for an eleventh-hour alteration to the proceedings.

A sombre one-minute silence was impeccably observed on Horse Guards Parade, while the King also directed that the royals wear black armbands in mourning.

The grand spectacle saw over a thousand British Army personnel march in full regalia, a testament to the nation’s military heritage.

At the heart of the ceremony is the “Colour”, the regimental standard paraded before the troops, a practice harking back to its vital role as a battlefield beacon.

King Charles maintained the long-standing custom of reviewing the soldiers, a ceremonial duty steeped in history.

It’s been 18 years since she disappeared

Achild protection expert believes ‘German police are onto something’ in the latest update on the search for Madeleine McCann.

A fresh search for evidence in Madeleine’s disappearance will see more than 20 locations examined within a few miles away from where the young girl vanished in Portugal more than 18 years ago.

The area is close to the former home of convicted sex offender Christian Brueckner, named by German police as the prime suspect in the case.

GMB correspondent Richard Gaisford explained earlier today (Wednesday June 4) that new searches would take place in coastal scrubland near Praia da Luz in the Algarve.

He explained: “We watched them yesterday digging away in ruins with pick-axes and spades, looking to see if they could find anything. They were looking deep into wells, pumping wells dry where they could. It’s been 18 years since Madeleine McCann vanished. A lot of searches have been made since then and a lot of questions raised. Now experts certainly believe that German police are onto something.”

He then introduced show guest and child protection expert Jim Gamble. He offered his take on why German police may have strong reasons to look there.

Gamble suggested: “They’re very conservative in what they say and what they do. They work to a very tight legal framework. So they must know something that we don’t to drive them back in this way, at this time to these particular sites with the number of forensic scientists they’re bringing to bear.

They must know something that we don’t.

He added: “No criminal justice agency in the world is going to throw that amount of money at this time of search without hope that they’re actually going to find something.”

Closing the segment, Richard reflected on Madeleine’s parents not flying out to Portugal for the search. He said: “There’s been no word from Kate and Gerry McCann about this latest search but they recently did say that they wanted no stone to be left unturned. And that’s certainly what appears to be happening here right now.”

A second added: “Many hope this is the last taxpayers’ money is spent on this. No other missing persons get this funding.”

And a third person claimed: “This has cost us millions and it’s still rolling on when other children are forgotten.”

The Britain’s Got Talent final hit has been hit with 72 complaints over Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon’s ‘revealing dresses’. When contacted by the Mirror, Ofcom said they had received the complaints from viewers, who alleged the star’s frocks were “too revealing for a family show”.

Show judge, Amanda, 54, stunned in her final outfit for the ITV talent competition after vowing to never tone down her fashion choices despite a barrage of backlash since the series started. She made sure to pull out all the stops for the star-studded finale on the weekend, when she rocked up braless, in a plunging custom-made white silk gown from Saint Hendrix, with her hair slicked back into a bun with several bejewelled clips.

“Nah Trent was speaking intermediate level Spanish. He has been planning to leave for YEARSSS LOOOOOOOOOOOL,” another mused, with a third fuming: “Trent cost his boyhood club the winning goal in a Champions League final and immediately started learning Spanish to help orchestrate a move to the club he’d just lost too, don’t let anyone tell you he’s not a rat.”

Acknowledging that many – including former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp – criticised Reds fans for booing Trent during one of his final games for the club after confirming his exit, another Twitter (X) user wrote: “LOOOOOOL na we all need to apologise to Liverpool fans because Trent is all of a sudden fluent in Spanish???? I am so sorry Liverpool fans.”

Trent admitted during his presentation that Real Madrid was the only team he would have left boyhood club Liverpool for and was comfortable he made the right decision.

The 26-year-old, who has signed a six-year deal after Real Madrid paid £8.5million to release him from a contract expiring this month, rejected suggestions he had been heavily influenced by close friend and England team-mate Jude Bellingham.

He also denied he had been orchestrating the move for a long time but impressing president Florentino Perez and assembled club dignitaries by surprisingly addressing them in Spanish did nothing to calm the anger a significant section of the fanbase have felt about the way he handled his exit after 20 years at Liverpool.

“To be honest, it was never a question of where, it was whether to go or not to go but I always knew, I’ve probably known it for a long time, if I was ever to leave Liverpool, it would only be to go Real Madrid, that would be the only club for me,” said Trent, who told a press conference he had been learning Spanish “for a few months”.

“Then it gets to a point where you have to make a decision whether to go or stay and making that decision was not an easy decision because I’d been there so long, but eventually you have to make a decision and in my mind, I’ve made the right one.”

David Beckham was all smiles while chatting to pals during an Inter Miami team training session on Friday. The football star, who is rumoured to be being knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours List this week, looked relaxed as he chatted with head coach Javier Mascherano and another person.

If the star, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday without his eldest son in attendance, does receive a knighthood, then he officially becomes a Sir, and his wife Victoria will be a Lady. Amid the reports, Inter Miami co-owner David was pictured kicking a ball during a team training session on Friday afternoon.

The football icon, who is said to be locked in a feud with his eldest son, Brooklyn, looked cool and casual in a grey t-shirt, black sweatpants, trainers and a white baseball cap.

At one point, he took a break from training to sit by the sidelines under the blazing sun. Meanwhile, the training session comes after he was snapped attending a Royal event this week, hosted by King Charles himself.

The footballer was snapped attending the King’s Foundation Awards ceremony at St James’ Palace in London – before the official announcement of his long-awaited knighthood.

He looked dapper in a navy blue double breasted blazer, striped blue shirt and a grey tie for the lavish event.

Amid the family feud, it has been said that David didn’t tell Brooklyn, who is married to Nicola Peltz, about his reported knighthood. Instead, Brooklyn reportedly learned of his father’s happy news through the media.

A source for Brooklyn told Page Six he was thrilled his dad was finally receiving the honour, while a source quoted as someone close to his parents told the publication: “Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he’s not responding to those that try to connect.”

Now, the 26-year-old star has shared a picture of a tattoo that could be perceived as a tell-tale sign about where his loyalties lie.

The image shows the tattoo on Brooklyn’s upper back that is based on a note Nicola, 30, wrote to him before their wedding in April 2022. Tattooed in a stylish calligraphy font, it reads:

GB News host Eamonn Holmes has hit out at his former co-stars branding some of them “horrible” and “fake” during a recent episode of his podcast

GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes didn’t mince his words about former colleagues in the television industry, slating some as “horrible” and repeatedly calling them “false, false, false”.

On his latest podcast episode of Things We Like, Eamonn was joined by co-presenter Paul Coyte and tough guy actor Ray Winstone. During a candid conversation, The Departed actor Ray shared insights on his life in Los Angeles and how the Hollywood buzz led him back to the UK, starting Eamonn on a scathing rant about the entertainment world.

Ray said: “I couldn’t live in LA, it’s constant,” and pointed out: “Even the guy who puts petrol in your car works in the industry. It’s like every two minutes, it’s all they want to talk about.

“We talk about birds and football and boxing, you know, they talk about movies. Hollywood and Los Angeles are wonderful places when you’re doing alright, but when you’re not.”

Eamonn, fresh from his departure from his long-standing gig at This Morning, jumped in to sound off on his disdain for phony relationships within showbiz circles, reports Belfast Live.

The seasoned presenter, not shy about his feelings regarding people in the biz, spoke in a mocking tone: “‘I don’t like this character, I don’t like so and so, I like that person, I didn’t get on with them,’” before hinting at similarities between himself and Winstone, saying, “That’s what the business is based on. I mean, I’m like you [Ray Winstone]. I get myself into trouble because if I don’t like someone, they’ll know I don’t like them.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Eamonn remarked on the frequent hypocrisy he encounters, noting: “And there are so many horrible people that you end up with. People say: ‘Oh, he’s lovely, he’s fantastic’.”

Eamonn Holmes has recently shared his candid views on celebrity genuineness, stating: “If they say to me: ‘What’s that Ray Winstone like?’ I’ll say he is lovely and he is fantastic and people will believe me because I wouldn’t say it if you weren’t, but so many are just false, false, false.”

While discussing the authenticity of stars in showbiz, all three men found common ground, although they refrained from naming individuals associated with their sentiments.

Rumours once circled about a rift between Eamonn and his former GMTV co-star Anthea Turner during the 90s, but both have indicated that any past issues have been resolved.

In recent times, Eamonn has not held back on expressing his opinions about ex-This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield following Phillip’s departure from ITV due to a controversial relationship with a younger man within the company.

Taking a firm stance on Phillip’s troubles, Eamonn commented in October 2024 that he was “absolutely addicted to fame,” and explained that Phillip, who remains absent from our screens, “deserves to be in exile”.
