‘He’ll never be coming back’: Emmerdale star addresses Bear future

Slave Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) discovers Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) and Ray Walters’ (Joe Absolom) plan to leave the Emmerdale village in upcoming episodes, leaving him to wonder what is going to happen to him.

There was a hugely poignant moment in a recent instalment where little Eve Dingle (Bella James) was playing in a field at Butlers and spotted her granddad Bear in a neighbouring field.

Bear has been missing from home for months now, with his family totally unaware that he’s been ensnared by Ray and Celia and is working on Celia’s farm along with other people in conditions of modern day slavery, being subjected to manipulation, violence and extreme hardship.

The fact that his beloved granddaughter saw him, but Paddy (Dominic Brunt), Mandy (Lisa Riley) and the rest of the family who are desperate for some news of him didn’t believe her, highlighted the huge tragedy that he’s literally surrounded by people who genuinely love him, but he’s completely cut off from them.

Joshua Richards told us that Bear has transferred any feelings for his family to Ray, who is manipulating him the way he manipulated Dylan (Fred Kettle), by pretending to be his friend.

Westlife star Shane Filan’s heartbreak after suffering two cancer deaths within 12 months

Star of Westlife Shane Filan previously recalled his devastation after losing both his parents to cancer within 12 months.

The Irish singer shot to fame in the boyband – who take to the stage today (December 21) at The Royal Variety Performance.

In 2019, though, Shane was hit with heartbreak when his mum died due to lung cancer. Tragically, Shane’s father died the next year from pancreatic cancer.

Westlife star Shane Filan on death of his parents

Shane’s beloved mum Mae died in 2019 after a battle with lung cancer. But before she passed away, the family were left reeling again when Peter was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

“My dad had pancreatic cancer,” Shane said on Late Late Show Daffodil Day Special in 2021. He added: “It was so surreal at the time because my mum was sick.

“You kind of wait your whole life wondering when your parents are going to get sick, what’s going to happen to your parents. You think they are are superheroes.”

Shane says ‘it hit me like a steam train’

The pop star went on to discuss his shock after learning about his dad’s cancer diagnosis. He said: “That hit me like a steam train. Myself and my dad were very close, we were really, really close. I could talk to him about anything.

“The first person I would call after The Late Late Show would be my dad… he was like my best friend, I could talk to him about anything.”

Unfortunately, just several months after Shane’s mum died, his father passed away as well.

“It was just over nine months [between their deaths], my mum died in December 2019 just before the pandemic hit, and my dad died in October,” Shane said.

    It was very difficult.

Meanwhile earlier this year in August, Shane reflected on losing both of his parents.

Speaking to Andrea Gilligan on Newstalk’s Lunctime Live, Shane said: “My mum had lung cancer for four years, passed away in 2019. And my dad had pancreatic cancer, passed away sadly nine months later.

“It was very difficult, obviously, very, very difficult time for me and my family. It’s very difficult to deal with anyone having cancer, it’s a, it’s a very scary place and it’s still horrible to think about.”

Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) is the sweetest person in Emmerdale. Maybe all of Yorkshire. We’re talking about a woman who made her first appearance in the Dale dressed as a bumblebee. Pairing her up with a drug-dealing people-trafficker like Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) feels like a worse pairing than literally any couple from Love Island.

To viewers’ shock, Laurel has fallen head over heels for the smooth-talking criminal’s charms. For a woman whose relationship history includes Ashley Thomas (John Middleton), Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), Ray is definitely not her usual type.

Actress Charlotte Bellamy explains why Laurel is so smitten ‘Ray is the most charming person and he totally has her hooked. So Christmas is really sweet, because she has no expectations. And of course, he has never really had a proper Christmas.

‘So it is full of warmth and love and you know, twinkly lights and a Christmas tree. He’s never had that. And of course, he’s just walked into this huge hug of Mulberry Cottage. So it’s a surprise for him as it is a surprise for Laurel.’

It’s been a surprise for the audience too. Given how Ray makes his money exploiting and manipulating vulnerable people, nobody ever expected him to have a softer side. But Laurel of all people has found it.

She gives Ray his first taste of warmth, happiness and stability, things that he has never received from his mother.

This genuine emotional connection has not only given Ray’s character more depth, but given the story some juicy conflict that may jeopardise Celia’s plans to flee the village before they are discovered.

Will Ray and Laurel get their happily ever after? Charlotte Bellamy is not optimistic.

‘Oh, my God, she’s going to get heartbroken, but he’s going to get his heart broken too. I think I’m excited about them finding out and seeing the other side of the monster that they think is Ray.

‘That is the clever bit of this story. You hate his character because he’s so awful, but then the more you find out about him, you realise that he is actually just a product of being groomed himself and that he has never seen any other way. And so suddenly this woman has opened up his heart and he’s actually falling in love and he’s never had that before.

‘He’s never had a problem in getting women, but he’s never been emotionally involved or connected with them. And suddenly the goodness of Laurel is magnetic.’

Whilst a future together may never be on the cards, Laurel has profoundly changed Ray. And with Celia’s exit already announced, Emmerdale fans are wondering if he will finally find the strength to stand up to his mother.

Is it possible that Ray will find redemption in his love for Lauren and turn over a new leaf? ‘That’s the dilemma, isn’t it?’ Charlotte Bellamy explains.

‘Because on one hand, you think it’s not fair. (Ray’s) a product of mental, physical and emotional abuse. Did he ever have a chance when he was groomed from such a young age?

‘But on the other hand, you think, is he redeemable? He wants to be a good man. He desperately wants to redeem himself, but Laurel really is his only chance.’

Where Emmerdale’s Home Farm was once a family home bustling with people, there’s currently only one occupant – Kim Tate (Claire King).

After suffering a riding accident that damaged her leg and claimed the life of her horse, Kim was appalled to discover that the accident came about because her trusted employees, Sam and Lydia Dingle (James Hooton and Karen Blick), had organised an illegal shoot on her land and the participants had laid snares for rabbits, one of which had trapped her horse’s leg.

Kim felt most betrayed by Lydia, the woman she regarded as her best friend. She sacked her and Sam and ordered them out of the house.

Before this, Kim had fallen out with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), whom she accused of trying to get his hands on her empire the minute she was incapacitated. She was also angry with Joe for being the one who authorised her beloved horse being put to sleep because of his injuries – even though he was acting on the vet’s advice.

Joe and Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) have been living in a cottage since they were sent away from Home Farm, but in Monday (December 22)’s episode Joe tried to make amends with Kim after he heard that Lydia had admitted her and Sam’s part in the accident.

Kim was having none of it and sent him away again.

In the wake of this he was seriously considering his future and, in the Woolpack, suggested to Dawn that they could move away from the village and start afresh. Dawn was reluctant to do this because she said the kids were happy where they were.

Joe insisted to Dawn that he loves her, and then he had an idea and headed off, telling her to meet him at the cottage later.
Joe speaks to Dawn in Home Farm in EmmerdaleJoe and Dawn got together after Dawn had an affair with Joe (Picture: ITV)
As soon as he’d gone, Charity (Emma Atkins) started to get into Dawn’s head about Joe. Charity is no fan of Joe because of the way he treated her daughter Debbie (Charley Webb), and then his plan to steal a kidney from Charity’s son Noah (Jack Downham), and you can see her point. She told Dawn that Joe would soon be gone and was probably off planning how to dump her.

Dawn got seriously worried that Charity was right, and ignored several phone calls from Joe thinking he was going to end things with her.

But a very different scenario unfolded when Dawn went outside. Joe was there in a smart suit, accompanied by a woman with a violin. As the violin played, Joe got down on one knee in front of Dawn – and, less romantically, in front of Charity, Aaron (Dany Miller) and Robert (Ryan Hawley).

As he was proposing, Charity was mouthing the words, ‘Say no!’

And Dawn said no. How much of this was Charity’s influence and how much was about her own reservations about Joe it was hard to tell. But poor Joe looked gutted. Trailed by his friend the violinist, he wandered off down the street.

Discover the thrilling details of this gripping storyline and what it means for the residents of Emmerdale.

Emmerdale Unveils a Shocking Twist: Eve’s Daring Trespass

Emmerdale, the beloved British soap opera, is known for its gripping storylines and unexpected twists. In a recent episode, viewers were left on the edge of their seats as Eve made a daring decision to trespass on Ceila’s land. This bold move not only led her to her grandfather, Bear, but also to the shocking discovery of another villager who had mysteriously vanished, only to be found working as a slave. This article delves into the implications of Eve’s actions and the unfolding drama in the village.

Eve’s Bold Decision: A Step into the Unknown

Eve has always been portrayed as a character with a strong sense of justice and determination. Her decision to trespass on Ceila’s land is a reflection of her unwillingness to accept the status quo. As tensions rise in the village, Eve’s actions can be seen as a catalyst for change. The audience is left to wonder: what drives her to take such a risk?

The storyline begins to unfold as Eve navigates the treacherous terrain of Ceila’s property. The suspense builds as she encounters various obstacles, both physical and moral. The emotional weight of her journey is palpable, as she grapples with the potential consequences of her actions. Will she find the answers she seeks, or will her quest lead to unforeseen dangers?

The Discovery: Bear and the Missing Villager

As Eve ventures deeper into Ceila’s land, she stumbles upon her grandfather, Bear, who has been living in isolation. Bear’s character has always been a source of wisdom and strength in the village, and his presence adds a layer of complexity to the narrative. The reunion between Eve and Bear is filled with emotion, as they share stories and confront the realities of their past.

However, the real shock comes when Eve uncovers the fate of another villager who has been missing for some time. This villager, who had been working as a slave, represents a dark undercurrent in the seemingly idyllic village of Emmerdale. The revelation raises questions about the hidden struggles faced by the residents and the lengths to which some may go to survive.

The implications of this discovery are profound. It not only highlights the issue of modern slavery but also serves as a reminder that not everything is as it seems in the village. The audience is left to ponder the moral dilemmas faced by the characters and the societal issues that the show bravely tackles.

The Repercussions: How Will the Village Respond?

Eve’s actions and the revelations that follow are bound to have significant repercussions for the entire village. As the truth comes to light, the residents of Emmerdale will have to confront their own complicity in the situation. Will they rally around Eve and Bear, or will they turn a blind eye to the uncomfortable truths that have been unearthed?

The storyline serves as a powerful commentary on community dynamics and the importance of standing up against injustice. It challenges viewers to reflect on their own values and the role they play in their communities. As the drama unfolds, the village will have to navigate the complexities of loyalty, betrayal, and the fight for justice.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Emmerdale?

In one video message shared this week by a member of the Raise the Colours group – the grassroots movement that has seen flags fixed to lampposts, motorway bridges and roundabouts across England – two men are seen evoking military language and the spirit of the British fight against the Nazis in the Second World War.

Claiming to be recording from the northern French coast, one said: “Just like in the 1940s, we must take a stand, and it starts with the men of England and Britain.”

Making an appeal to “firms” – a phrase that refers to football hooligan groups – the other man added: “Our country is doing nothing. Weak government, weaker borders.

“They are doing nothing, so we need to make a stand, boys. Get the lads together, get your firms together, get the lads in the pub, get the lads down the bars, if you’re talking about it and you agree with what we are doing, give us a hand.”

The Government is under pressure to tackle the issue of migration amid a record number of asylum applications, surging small boat crossings and protests at hotels housing asylum seekers.

On Monday, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood set out a package of reforms to asylum policies aimed at tackling illegal migration, telling MPs the current situation is “out of control and unfair”.

The latest videos shared by those linked to the Raise the Colours group have separately been referred to as “Operation Overlord”.

Earlier clips showed two men saying they were taking matters of illegal migration into their own hands and filming themselves stamping on and smashing a small boat’s engine.

In the clips, they refer to themselves as “patriots” and make a number of claims without evidence, such as that they are stopping “rapists and murderers” from “coming to a town near you”.
One video shared by the group (Photo: raisethecolours.org.uk/nstagram)
The flag-raising group, who have a combined 100,000 followers on X and Instagram, also posted a plea on X for donations last week, writing that they are: “STOPPING The Boats, whether the migrants or government like it or not!”

Two videos from the group have recently been shared to the 1.7 million X followers of Tommy Robinson. The far-right figure and former leader of the English Defence League, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has previously been accused of mobilising football hooligan firms in an attempt to launch anti-Muslim rallies across the country.

Separately, French media reports that the Dunkirk Public Prosecutor’s office has opened a preliminary investigation into “aggravated violence” against migrants by suspected British far-right figures.

One of the details being examined by the French prosecutor is the claim that in September, four men waving British and UK flags verbally and physically attacked migrants on the French coast. It is alleged that they told the migrants they were not welcome in England and proceeded to steal some of their belongings.

The men are not the first anti-migrant figures to travel to France in a bid to take matters into their own hands.

In September, Ukip, Nigel Farage’s former political party, posted a video to their X account showing what appeared to be sleeping migrants in France being woken by people flashing strobe lights in their faces and shouting at them.

Nick Tenconi, Ukip’s current leader, also posted a video captioned: “In Calais hunting for illegal invaders trying to cross into Britain.”

Nigel Farage says Keir Starmer ‘determined to crush dissent’ over Reform’s House of Lords snub

Nigel Farage identified Keir Starmer as “part of a political establishment determined to crush dissent and free speech” in a volcanic new broadside.

The Reform UK leader’s furious comments came after his party was frozen out of making nominations to the House of Lords yesterday, while the Prime Minister put forward 25 new peers to bolster Labour’s control of the Upper Chamber.

Among those nominated were several Labour allies, including Sir Keir’s former communications head, Matthew Doyle, and Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s chief of staff, Katie Martin, leading to accusations of “cronyism”.

“Normal communication between parties doesn’t exist when it comes to Reform,” Mr Farage declared.

Referring to Sir Keir, he said: “I used to think he was a decent bloke, maybe a bit wishy-washy. I now think he is part of a political establishment determined to crush dissent, determined to crush free speech and make sure Reform does not get a far crack of the whip.”

“This makes me even more determined to do in the establishment and win the next General Election,” Mr Farage pledged.

‘We deserve more peers!’ Lib Dem leader hits out at Nigel Farage and Reform over Lords sub

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has hit out at Nigel Farage after Reform UK was frozen out of appointing peers to the House of Lords.

Amid Labour stuffing the upper chamber with 25 allies, the Lib Dems were also able to appoint five of their own, including the party’s CEO.

However, Reform was not invited to select any peers despite having five MPs in Parliment and dominating the other parties in opinion polling.

“Well Liberal Democrats have got a great result at the last election we got 72 MPs, I don’t know many MPs there are for Reform it’s 4 or 5, they keep changing because people keep being sacked or resigning, but we’ve got many more MPs than Nigel Farage and that’s obviously why we deserve more peers,” Sir Ed told GB News.

When asked if he had done a deal with Sir Keir Starmer, the Lib Dem leader rubbished the notion.

“We deserve to have more Peers we’ve had our best result at a General Election for over 100 years, and the last Conservative government I’m afraid, didn’t allow us to have very many peers at all, so It’s absolutely right,” he told The People’s Channel.

Nigel Farage unveils ex-Tory MP as Reform UK’s cost-cutting tsar as defection deluge continues

Reform UK has appointed ex-Tory MP Ben Bradley as its new local government action tsar.

Mr Bradley, who served as the MP for Mansfield between 2017 and 2024, will support Reform’s deputy leader Richard Tice in his Doge operation.

The 35-year-old said: “I’m delighted to be joining Reform UK at a really important time, and to be part of delivering the real change that is desperately needed.

“Successive governments have failed to deliver for so many people, and have demonstrated that they’re unwilling to actually deliver on key promises to voters.

“They have talked about being tough on crime, reducing immigration, about helping working people, whilst in practice they’ve failed to act and have delivered the opposite. The trust in those parties has gone, and it’s not coming back.”

Mr Tice added: “I’m pleased to announce that Ben Bradley has joined Reform UK as Head of Local Government Action.

“Ben brings a wealth of experience as a former Local Authority Leader and MP for Mansfield. His expertise will help us provide strong leadership and deliver real results for councils across the country.”

Mr Bradley joins more than 20 top Tories who have joined Reform UK, including ex-Red Wall MPs Jonathan Gullis and Marco Longhi.

Keir Starmer stopped from recreating iconic Love Actually moment

Keir Starmer has been blocked from recreating an iconic scene from Love Actually, which was to be posted to his new TikTok account.

In the inaugural post, the Prime Minister was filmed walking through Downing Street with his wife, Victoria Starmer, to a Christmas light switch-on outside, inviting viewers to “follow me”.

Accompanying the video was Santa’s Coming Home (For Christmas) by Niklas Gabrielsson Lind & OTE.

However, aides had initially hoped to set the video to “Jump” by The Pointer Sisters.

This pop classic has long been associated with a classic scene from the 2003 rom-com, where Hugh Grant, playing the Prime Minister, dances around No. 10 to the tune.

In the end, the idea was abandoned for fears it would breach copyright rules, per PoliticsHome.

Balaclava-clad protesters pelt councillors with eggs while debating ‘sanctuary for asylum seekers’

Councillors in Kent were “violently intimidated” and “pelted with eggs” by people wearing balaclavas while holding a debate about asylum seekers.

Swale Borough Council was debating making the area a “District of Sanctuary” for asylum seekers in the meeting on Wednesday evening when the alleged attack took place.

Toilets at the council offices in Sittingbourne were also “flooded” and lifts were “destroyed”, Labour MP Kevin McKenna said.

Mr McKenna, MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey which includes Swale Borough, branded the incident an “attack on democracy itself” as he told the House of Commons of his horror at the “violent scenes”.

“I’m horrified to report to you and to the House as a whole that last night in Swale Borough Council there were violent scenes as people wearing balaclavas in the public gallery itself violently intimidated councillors,” he told MPs.

“They were threatening them, pelting them with eggs and missiles from the gallery.”

Keir Starmer faces fresh attack from leadership rival just hours after PM received ’12 month warning’

Sir Keir Starmer leaving No10 on his way to PMQs

Sir Keir Starmer has been hit with a fresh attack from Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.

Mr Burnham, who was accused of jumping the gun by talking up his leadership ambitions at the Labour Party Conference, criticised the Prime Minister’s record on homelessness.

He said: “What I am saying is homelessness is fixable – it requires something more radical if you really want to fix it.

“If you go for that ‘housing first’ approach – ‘everyone in’, ‘a bed every night’, those type of approaches – in the end, in my view, you save money.

“And that’s what I would encourage them to do. So I’m not saying they haven’t done lots of good things. They have done lots of really important things. But from here, let’s get into a more radical approach.”

Mr Burnham’s intervention came just hours after Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey warned Sir Keir might only have 12 more months in Downing Street.

Speaking at Prime Minister’s Questions, Sir Ed asked: “Does the Prime Minister fear if he keeps opposing a customs union, in 12 months’ time he will not be standing there?”

Sir Keir replied: “We have got a closer relationship with the EU, through our reset earlier this year. And, yes, I do want a closer relationship to the one we’ve got at the moment, we are moving towards that.

“We do have manifesto commitments on issues such as single market, customs union and freedom of movement.”

The exchange came after the Prime Minister was rocked by a 13-strong Brexit revolt over a Ten Minute Rule Bill to drag Britain back into the EU’s customs union.

The couple shared two daughters together Josephine, born September 16, 1983, and Julia Christina, born March 18, 1989.

Chris’ last TV appearance was on Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing in 2020.

He guest starred on the show for a special Christmas episode where he talked about his battle with serious health issues over the years.

The hour-long special saw Bob Mortimer return to his childhood roots in Middlesbrough where Chris was born in 1951.

Speaking to Bob Mortimer about his Christmas hits origins, Rea previously said: “I was on the dole when I wrote that.

“My manager had just left me. I’d just been banned from driving.

“My now wife, Joan, had to drive down to London to pick me up in the Mini and take me home, and that’s when I wrote it.”

After the very same drive up north Rea would receive a cheque for £15,000 upon stepping through his front door.

His song Fool (if you think it’s over) had become a hit in America and earned him a large sum.

The timing couldn’t have been better given he was down to his last £200, he claimed.

It was a while before Driving Home would make any money.

Rea has recorded 25 studio albums, two of which topped the UK Albums Chart, The Road to Hell in 1989 and its successor, Auberge, in 1991.

He had already become a major European star by the time he finally cracked the UK Top 10 with the single The Road to Hell (Part 2).

Rea was born on March 4, 1951, in Middlesbrough in the North Riding of Yorkshire to an Italian father, Camillo Rea, and an Irish mother, Winifred K. Slee.

In 1973 he joined the local Middlesbrough band Magdalene and began writing songs.

He went on to enjoy a long and successful career in the British music industry.

His most famous song Driving Home for Christmas has made a reappearance on the UK Singles Chart every year since 2007.

It’s now a chart regular at this time of year, reaching its highest position in 2021 when it made it to number 10.

Rea had suffered several health battles throughout his life – he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of just 33.

He faced nine serious operations after the diagnosis, spending a total of 32 weeks in hospital.

Discussing the shock prognosis with Saga, he told how it had been his “Mount Everest” to climb.

Chris explained: “The original illness hit me hard. I almost had a nervous breakdown with the shock of it. That was the Mount Everest to climb.

“When they said it was pancreatic cancer, I could not believe it. It seemed that if your DNA says you are going to have cancer, then you can.

“They did not think I would recover from the first operation, but I was determined to do so for my wife and the girls.”

While appearing on the Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing Christmas special in 1994, Rea explained he had “never really got over” his diagnosis.

He had previously told how some of his internal organs, his pancreas, gallbladder and part of his liver were “all gone” after an operation.

It was after he had received the lifesaving surgery that the star discovered he had type 1 diabetes.

Speaking candidly about the moment he told his wife Joan Lesley about the diagnosis Rea said: “She pulled the car over and burst into tears.”

Chris has previously said he has to take “34 pills every day” after his health struggles.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

David Beckham has been seen for the first time since his son Brooklyn blocked his entire family on Instagram.

On Monday the former footballer, 50, attended Stone Roses legend Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield’s funeral with his former Manchester United teammate Gary Neville.

It came after a difficult weekend which saw his son Cruz claim that Brooklyn had blocked his family as their feud escalated to boiling point.

Mounfield died peacefully in his sleep aged 63 at his home in Stockport of ‘respiratory issues’ after having the lung condition emphysema, it was revealed last week.

He died on November 20 after collapsing following a seizure, with family sources saying an ambulance was called but he could not be revived.

His death came two years after his wife of 25 years, Imelda died after suffering from bowel cancer. They are survived by their 12-year-old sons Gene and George.

David’s appearance at the funeral comes after the bitter Beckham family feud escalated to new heights over the weekend as Cruz claimed his brother Brooklyn had blocked their entire family on Instagram.

It had first been reported that David and Victoria had stopped following their oldest son, before Cruz, 20, furiously set the record straight.

The claims of the very sudden blocking sparked the obvious question of why he would do such a thing.

And it’s now possible that Brooklyn suddenly cut final ties with his parents and three siblings after Victoria liked a post of his about roasting a chicken.

Aspiring chef Brooklyn, 26, posted another of his regular cooking videos on Instagram last week as he showed his 16 million followers how to brine a chicken.

Victoria is thought to have liked the post which led to a slew of comments under the post urging Brooklyn to fix the feud with his family.

Fans penned: ‘Victoria liked this post. Yay!!! Family is everything’, ‘Go and see your parents, you will regret it later in life’, ‘Call your parents.’

It’s understood that Brooklyn was left annoyed by the comments prompted by his mother’s public like – and decided to block the whole family including his sister Harper, 14.

Brooklyn will be spending Christmas in the US with his wife Nicola Peltz – who no longer follows the Beckhams – and her family.

It comes after The Daily Mail revealed that David and Victoria have been asked to stop contacting Brooklyn and his wife.

It seems that the young couple find Instagram posts by the Beckhams upsetting and anxiety-inducing.

They wake up worrying what might have been posted about them overnight.

‘It would be really in the holiday spirit if the Beckhams could just back off and leave them alone for now,’ a friend of the Peltz Beckhams said on Sunday.

‘The Beckhams started these ‘blocking’ game stories earlier this year and they keep going.

‘Whether someone follows someone else on Insta or any other platform shouldn’t be and isn’t a story. It’s a sad situation, but nothing has changed here.

‘Nicola and Brooklyn haven’t been commenting. They just want peace. It would be best for everyone for them [the Beckhams] to stop contacting, commenting and briefing because it’s not accomplishing anything.’

In fact, even the intervention by Cruz is considered another negative briefing by Brooklyn and Nicola. As the friend says: ‘They have requested that the Beckhams back off. They just want to be left alone. The Instagram stuff is just a media play – it feels like more manipulation, more gaslighting. It just drives Brooklyn and Nicola further away.

‘They get upset by the speculation. They are trying to take the high road which is not to react at all and to just live their lives.’

Meanwhile sources in camp Beckham say after the blocking: ‘David and Victoria will never stop loving Brooklyn.

‘They will always be here for him and they always want him to know that, they are devastated at this fall out.

‘So far from this being them, it appears that Brooklyn has blocked them to show them that’s it, this is final.

‘It is very clear that this is a sign of his complete estrangement from his family.

‘For David and Victoria it was their last connection to Brooklyn as he has made it very clear he doesn’t want to talk to them anymore, they haven’t spoken for months and months now.

‘By following him it was a message to him that they still love him and still want to follow his life. Now they can’t do that, but it’s not their doing.’

The Instagram fallout comes just days before Christmas.

Brooklyn will not join his parents and younger brothers Romeo and Cruz or sister Harper.

Instead he is expected to remain in US while the Beckhams celebrate with their wider family at their £10million home in the Cotswolds.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Brooklyn for comment on Cruz’s claims.

It is the most public sign yet that there has is no communication between them amid their spiraling family feud.

Brooklyn’s wife Nicola, 30, also does not follow David and Victoria. They no longer follow her either.

His decision to spend Christmas with his in-laws will come as a blow to his parents and siblings.

In recent weeks, David has appeared to offer a public olive branch to his son, in an apparent bid to put an end to their very public family feud.

The former footballer had shared a throwback picture of himself with Brooklyn and his younger brothers Romeo and Cruz.

Cruz also made sure his brother knew he was thinking of him by sharing a sweet snap of the pair with brother Romeo on the beach in Brazil.

Brooklyn was seen wrapping his arm around his youngest brother Cruz as they posed on the beach.

Relations between Brooklyn, Nicola and the Beckham clan unraveled completely when they did not attend any of David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May. Brooklyn also failed to acknowledge his father’s knighthood in November.

Last week, the Daily Mail revealed how Brooklyn’s nans are devastated they won’t be seeing their grandson this Christmas.

Victoria had shared a festive picture from her parents Jackie and Tony Adams’ house as they placed twelve stockings in a row on their fireplace, one for each grandchild. In pride of place was one reserved for Brooklyn.

The family feud has taken a particularly acute toll on Jackie, as well as David’s mother Sandra.

Some argue that hanging up Brooklyn’s stocking, regardless of the feud, is a sign of hope on Jackie’s part that – somehow, despite everything – Christmas might finally persuade her grandson to put aside his grudges and step on a plane to rejoin the family.

Friends of the Beckhams say Jackie and Sandra are ‘extremely sad’ about the situation.

The source added: ‘They’re not getting any younger and the cold truth of it all is that nobody knows when they will see Brooklyn next. It’s Jackie and Sandra who everyone feels so sorry for.’

David and Victoria will spend some of the festive period in the £60million home they recently bought on Miami’s waterfront.

It was where they were joined last year by Brooklyn and Nicola, and photographs of their Christmas celebrations show everyone having what appeared to be a lovely time.

Victoria is believed to be working hard to put on a brave face and stay strong for her husband and teenage daughter Harper.
