'Isn’t it illegal' - Fans think Jake Paul had an unfair 'advantage' against Nate Diaz

Disgruntled fight fans think Jake Paul had an unfair ‘advantage’ over Nate Diaz following his victory last night.

Paul returned to the win column following his defeat to Tommy Fury by outpointing former UFC superstar Diaz in Dallas, Texas.

He won a convincing unanimous decision, with the three judge scoring the cruiserweight contest 97-92, 98-91 and 98-91 in favour of the YouTuber personality.

But fans on social media believe ‘The Problem Child’ entered the fight with an ‘advantage’ over the Stockon slugger.

Paul had two different coloured gloves as he wore a black glove on his right hand and a white glove on his left hand.

Diaz, on the other hand, wore two white gloves for his boxing debut.

After the result, people online took issue with the 26-year-old’s gloves, claiming he had an edge in their boxing bout.

One Twitter user wrote: “Jake Paul wearing two different colour Gloves gives him Advantage. He does this for a reason. No Ying Yang ting, when you face KSI.”

A second tweeted: “I genuinely thought it wasn’t allowed.”

A third added: “I’ve been saying this. Why is he wearing that? Isn’t it illegal!”

A fourth said: “Why do they keep allowing Jake Paul to wear two different colored gloves.”

Another commented: “I was surprised that was allowed.”

The Texas commission allowed Paul to wear two different coloured gloves as he secured the seventh victory of his professional career.

Speaking after the match, he reflected on his victory as he praised Diaz.

“He’s tough, that’s what he’s known for. Of course [I expected to win the decision]. I knocked him down.” he said.

“He’s tough, he’s real tough. That’s what he’s known for but tough in this sport doesn’t work.”

Paul added: “I did enough, I knocked him down, won basically every round but he’s a warrior. He kept on coming and no one has taken that much damage.

“All credit to my team and conditioning going 10 rounds in my eighth fight, I’ve beat a UFC legend.”
